24 Chapter 23
Sam falls on to the ground. His skin grazes the rough surface of the earth. To others, they may be in agony but he is has long gotten used to it.
He stands up quickly and crouches like a runner. The earth underneath his foot rises up, creating a slope for his feet to step on, just like what people would see at the runway.
He puts both of his arms on the ground, and inhales heavily.
"LILY!!" Sam yells.
She replies straight away.
"YES!!!"
"THANK YOU!!!"
*BOOM* The earth shatters underneath Sam's feet as he sprints forward one more. This time, he is even faster than before. Right after that, a huge Ice Lance and Laser Beam hit the ground where he just landed.
"YOU ARE WELCOME!!" Although Lily understands nothing, she still feels happy hearing his thanks.
Probably he thanked me because he used my spell. She thinks.
While running, Sam conjures up a spell in his hand. It glows a color of bright red, but the size of it is nearly double than what he used to have.
"Don't let him get too close! The power of his Fire Bomb spell is close to a 4.5!" At the back, handsome guy yells. In front of him is now a magic circle that shines brightly in a yellowish color. It looks like he is trying to do something big.
Seeing that, Sam knows he has to disrupt the handsome guy.
Suddenly, a blinding flash appears.
Light Magic: Blind.
""Not again!!"" The twins yell as they slap their armrests and stand up. "That's just dirty."
"Little girls, that's not dirty. It's tactic." Someone says.
""WHO SAYS THAT? WE DARE YOU TO SAY IT AGAIN!!""
Silent. Probably no one wants to mess with highschool students anyway.
Once the light has settled, to everyone's suprise, Sam's figure is nowhere to be seen.
"Above!" Out of the four people, one notices something from the corner of his eyes.
"IT'S COMING!" A red fire ball gets larger in his visual field.
Sam has already launched his attack.
"SHIELD!!"
Immediately, Ice Shields are deployed. However, comparing to Hero, the four guys do not have it as big and as vivid.
*BOOM*
Fire Bomb hits Ice Shields, completely shatters the spell.
"Guh!!"
"Argh!!"
The two who conjured up the Ice Shields are blown away by the impact. Just like what Sam suffered when battling the Hero, the shards cut their bodies into blood men.
But just when Sam thinks he can continue his assault...
"""ON YOUR LEFT!!"'" The girls shout.
On his blind side, a fiery hot rock with the diameter of a bath tub is falling from the sky.
Fire and Earth combination.
Earth Creation Magic: Meteor.
*Bam*
Before even being able to turn the head, Sam feels like as if a truck has hit his whole body.
"Ack!" Blood comes out from his mouth.
*Boom* *Crack*
It then explodes, once again sending Sam away. His left arm and probably some of his ribs are broken as it looks weirdly contorted. After rolling a few times on the ground, he gets up.
"Give up!" The two men unaffected by Sam's Fire Bomb call out to him.
"Ptui." Supporting his body up by the right arm, Sam spits out a bunch of blood. His legs are shaking.
"Promise that you will never attend this school anymore, and we will stop this."
"We don't want to go further than this. Don't force us any longer. Stand down."
The blood men also join in the discussion.
"Yeah, you showed your strength, bro."
"We got hurt bad because of you. 4 against one. We're your seniors, even. That's an honor to any one."
To them, Sam answers.
"Hehe."
Everyone:"???"
"Did you hit his head?" They all look at the one who sent the Meteor.
"N...no...I hope not. After all, killing people is a bit..." The guy also has no idea how to answer.
"I'm not crazy. Ptui. But you guys keep making the same mistake that I have to laugh."
"What are you talking about?"
"Like I said, it's not 4 against 1. It's 1 against 5."
"What's the difference then?"
Sam crouches down like he is about to run again.
"It means I am not surrounded by the five of you..."
His body disappears without a trace.
Only the little pool of blood of the ground is visible.
"Where did he go!?"
"How?!?"
The crowd goes wild. No one seems to understand how Sam managed to do such a thing. He is known for his weird close up fighting styles and his destructive Fire Bombs up until this moment.
"Is he above us?? Did he jump? He looked like he was about to jump."
When confusion is working its hardest, in front of the handsome guy, light flunctuates like the surface of water.
Lily's Light Magic: Invisible.
Out of thin air, a fist comes into contact with handsome guy's face, knocking him on the ground. The magic circle is not yet disrupted.
"You five are surrounded by me." Sam says.
His remaining eye is completely calm.
He can actually feel the adrenaline flowing through his veins. And the pain caused by the previous attacks only makes him more relax.
He feels like he is back at the gym, training day in and day out to strengthen himself to be able to achieve his previous purpose. But there is now a difference.
He feels like he has to win.
To win this fight for himself, no matter the outcome of his body. He wants these people, all of these people to know what he is capable of.
Even if it kills him, he will still need to win this fight.
Hero, these guys, the one who ordered them, they all look down on him.
He wants to take their stupid ideas of him, and shove it up their asses. He wants to crush those bastards.
Lily's face comes to his mind. He wants to let her know that he has a small purpose now, that she does not need to worry so much anymore.
Inside of Sam, for some mysterious reasons, the moment he thinks of Lily, he can feel Light, Water and Wind elements much better than before. That is probably how those with good affinity feel like.
With this new found feeling, a crazy idea comes inside his head.
Water Creation Magic: Mist.
Sam releases a fog that quickly envelops the field.
"Quick, use Gust! He is planning to hide!"
Probably he is, but mostly not from them.
Gust is then used simultaneously by the five people. The see him standing at the corner of the arena.
"He's there. Fire at will."
*Dash* Sam starts running. Orbs of water and wind form around him.
Water and Wind combination.
Water Creation Magic: Condensation.
The mist on the arena then gathers and turns into clouds, hovering slightly above. It keeps on gathering water that the clouds turn into a dark gray color.
*Tap tap tap*
It starts raining heavily on the field.
"What is he trying to do?"
"Making everyone wet? Probably a control ice spell next?"
"No idea! But we can't let him continue."
The guys keep on sending out spells which Sam tries to dogde them with all his strength.
Of course, he is no Hero, he just cannot evade everything. Which is why wounds and burns keep on appearing on his body. His outfit has long been torn to pieces, revealing nasty scars and stitches on him.
Yet he is far from getting wet.
"What is Sam doing?" Lily says to herself.
"He's taking so much damage. Yui is worried. Should we intervene?"
"Yuno is also very worried. Yuno is scared. Looking at Sam makes Yuno sad."
*Ding* *Ding* *Ding*
Notification sounds.
[Singularity: Trust him!!]
"I have never done this before. I hope it works." Sensing the elements around him, Sam begins his ultimatum.
Element orbs start to appear around Sam as he runs and dodges the attack.
Fire, water, earth, light. Four elements in total, in which Fire has the most percentage, then light.
"Ugh!!" The mental power required for this plan causes his face to pale. He wants to vomit actually.
*Boom*
Due to the distraction, a fire ball hits his back.
"Gah! Damn it!" He shouts but keeps on running.
The rain gets heavier and heavier, making the five totally drenched in water.
Looking at the people, the young man knows he should get on with his plan.
"It's time!!" Sam's remaining eye turns into a crazy look.
The elements smash into each other thereafter.
Fire, Water and Earth combination.
Earth Creation Magic: Metal.
Fire and Light combination.
Light Creation Magic: Energy.
Sam yells from the bottom of his lungs as his plan comes to fruition.
"EAT SHIT DICKHEADS!!!"
Metal and Energy Combination.
Light Creation Magic: Thunderstrike.
