Survival Exam(3)

Liam opened his eyes after a few seconds before saying, "Let's go this way."

He pointed to the right path in front of them.

"Got it." The two have no opinion about it.

The three of them have been travelling for awhile now. Although they can hold their own against beasts in here, there's no need to waste their energy if they can avoid it.

They still have six days left to survive. So they've been avoiding fighting with beasts but is trying to find their target.

Liam's target is Renz Law. He never remember any character with that name so he should be an extra like him.

However, Lorthon, as one of the supporting characters, his target is much stronger.

Lousette Travos, she's the child of an S-rank Hero and the only heiress of the six star guild, Wraith.

She inherited her father's authority, <Specter of the Abyss>. It's actually pretty powerful.

There are two types of authority, an innate and inherited.

No one knows what authority a person will awakened, it could be powerful or it could be a piece of shit. It's a fifty-fifty chance.

Lousette's father didn't want to take a risk and directly passed down his authority to her, forcing her to awakened.

Inheriting a powerful authority is much better than awakening a shitty one.

This turned out to be the best decision as Lousette have high-affinity with yin energy.

According to the novel, Lorthon found Lousette at the third day in the northern part of the forest.

It was only the first day so they should be safe for now. That is, if it will still follow the happenings in the novel.

Liam had a bad feeling but he brushed it off. As an extra, he wouldn't need to deal with the main characters anyway. He was atleast sure of that. But there should be a lot of cannon fodders.

"I saw a river a few meters away from here. We should rest there to ear some food. It's already nearing lunch." Liam suggested.

"That must be the reason why I'm feeling hungry." Lorthon mumbled while touching his flat stomach.

Dianne didn't answer. She was scouting on top of the tree in front of them, she squinted her eyes.

Dianne doesn't have a skill that allow her to see from far away distances so she took out her binoculars.

"There are people over there!" she exclaimed.

The two was startled and was immediately alerted. Liam activated his skill to take a look.

His vision expanded. There's a group of people ganging up on someone by the river. He couldn't properly see it since they're covering the person. He'll probably see better if he used x-ray vision but he doesn't want to waste mana.

Whatever. We can just ignore them.

"I think it's better to avoid them." he suggested.

Dianne jumped down the tree and agreed. "I think so too. There seemed to be atleast six people."

She waved her hand to swept an insect away.

So the three of them proceed to walked around these people to avoid fighting. Its not like they can't but they don't want to waste time and energy in useless fights.

They have enough supplies. There's no need to fight other examinees.

Unknown to them, the insect flying around them was made by the skill of a person from the group they wanted to avoid.

And that not all of them know how to make use of a beast's meat for food.

"T-three of them. One girl and two boys." the boy reported timidly.

One of them seemed familiar but he can't remember where he'd seen him before. His mind is a mess right now because of the things that happened to him.

Actually, he didn't want to report it. But looking at these people's savage appearances, made him think otherwise.

Wally have a timid personality. He's a pushover. He's a stupid man who doesn't have enough courage to speak for himself no matter how worse the situation is.

"Thanks piggie." one of them replied with a grinned.

The group laughed as they threw the man they were beating on the floor.

Looking at the person's body covered in blood, he closed his eyes and bit his lips. His fingers were trembling in fear and frustration.

Wallu really wanted to help... he really wanted to... but he doesn't have a single attack skill!

His authority <Insect Maniac> gave him the ability to share his senses with bugs around him. He can communicate with them perfectly.

With a level of F rank, he should be bossing this G rank examinees but due to his personality with an authority that didn't even give him a way to fight, he can't do anything.

He look away from the man's gaze. His heart beating fast and he's becoming dizzy.

Unlike him, this man was different. He fought against these people and never show any thoughts of giving up.

This made the the group hate him even more so they gang up on him and beat him to his current state.

A tear slid past his cheek but he immediately wipe it.

"Piggie, you stay here and guard this shit." the same man ordered.

Wally, while trembling, nodded his head.

"Look at him. Hahahaha!"

"He's so pathetic."

"Did you see that? He cried!"

Mocking words entered his ears, hitting him hard in his heart.

"Stop that, you guys. You're making him sad." the leader laughed loudly.

The member laughed with him while saying insincere 'sorry' to Wally.

"Let's go."

The group left to ambush the three people not far away from them. Only the two of them were left in the side of the river.

Wally glanced at the man. He send his insect around them and made sure the group was already gone before immediately kneeling to the other's side.

He took out a healing potion and removed the cap. "H-here. Drink this."

The man stared at him for a moment. His eyes were cold despite being in this state. There was a tense silence before he slowly opened his mouth.

Wally trembingly poured the potion in the man's mouth. He's worried that it won't fall in the man's mouth but too afraid to hold the other's cheeks who received the most injuries.

The man's body shone and some of his injuries started to heal. Yes, some. The potion is a middle-grade healing potion, so it cannot heal major injuries like the huge cut in the man's chest.

However, the bleeding had stopped already.

The man glanced at the coward who look away while he was getting beaten to pulp.

"You're helping me now?" his throat is a little dry but it didn't stop his sharp words to stabbed Wally.

Wally's eyes became teary. "I'm sorry."

He had nothing to say other than that. The man sighed.

"Whatever. We don't know each other anyway. You're not obliged to help me."

"B-but still..." his voice is dejected and sad.

This made the man pissed. He hate this type of person the most.

"For Pete's sake." the man stood up, surprising Wally.

"Y-you're injured! You can't move yet!" he panicked as he tried to help the man.

"I'm Oscar. You are?" he casually asked.

Wally was stunned for a moment. He didn't expect this developtment. In his mind, he didn't deserve to know this person at all. He, who didn't do anything to save a person in need, is worse than those people who hurt him.

"W-wally..."

"Then Wally, do you want to get out of here?"

***

"Be on guard just in case. Those people seem to be the type to cause trouble for no reason." Liam spoke with a serious expression.

Although they can probably take care of them easily. Since the group's strength is about G rank. Their leader being F- rank. Which is nothing compared to Lorthon.

However they have the advantahe in number. And preferably, he wanted Lorthon to be in his top-notch condition for his fight with Lousette. This is to ensure his victory.

Dianne thought of what she saw and nodded her head in agreement. "Seems that way."

She continue to jumped through trees while surveying the surroundings.

Dianne was shocked when a man suddenly appeared in her side as she was running with it's fist raised.

The man was grinning before punching straight to her face!

Dianne immediately raised her arm to clocked it but the force send her flying towards a boulder twice her size.

Boom!

"Ack!"

Blood left her mouth as her body hit the boulder.

"Dianne!" Liam shouted in surprised.

He took a step back to the side when a blade camw slashing him.

Crack-

The sword left a huge crater in the ground, dust and debris shot up in the air.

Liam clicked his tongue. How stupid of him to think that they can avoid fighting.

Aside from beasts and traps, there's also examinees.

He frowned when he noticed smoke slowly covering the area.

"Shit!" he cursed when he can't feel any presence in his surroundings.

Liam sighed with knitted eyebrow.

"What a pain..."
