Chapter 24 Silkie’s Friends

As Silkie walked over to the counter to buy the fox shirt Felix was wearing she excitedly said "We're buying that one." Felix stared at her for a moment and then glanced down at the shirt looking annoyed as he mumbled "I know she has goodwill… but couldn't she have chosen a different shirt." As Felix put the hoodie back on he sighed and said, "Well I'm not the one paying for it so I guess it doesn't matter too much." As he stepped out from behind the curtain Silkie grabbed his arm and dragged him out of the shop while excitedly saying "Let's go to the food court now." Felix stared at her hand that was tightly grabbing his forearm as he thought "M-my instincts aren't acting up as bad." Silkie glanced at him for a moment and seen that he was surprised as she stopped moving and asked "Is something wrong?" Felix flinched as he said "N-no… I just realized that my instincts haven't been acting up as badly." Silkie stared at her hand for a moment and then removed it as she said "Oh, sorry I forgot… it didn't bother you too much right?" Felix stared at her for a moment and said "I don't think you heard what I just said, I said that it's not bothering me as much."

Silkie nodded as she said, "Exactly… you said as much… so it still must've bothered you some." Felix stared at her for a moment as he thought "Was I really afraid of her?" Felix stared at her for another moment and then said "It's not really bothering me so you don't have to worry too much." Silkie stared at his hand as she said "It must not have been very comfortable for me to hold your arm like that." Silkie grabbed his hand and smiled as she asked "Does this feel better than holding your arm?" Felix stared at her hand as he said "I don't really feel the difference." Silkie began to walk while holding his hand as she smiled and said "That's fine, but… I never would've guessed that you'd be able to warm up to me so quickly." As she pulled Felix along a man bumped into Felix knocking him to the ground. As Felix hit the ground the man glared at him and said "Watch where you're going!" As the man turned around to continue walking Silkie grabbed the man's wrist and asked "Shouldn't you apologize for bumping into my friend." The man glared at her as he said "It's his fault for getting in my way." Silkie began to squeeze his wrist as she said "If you're in a bad mood you should try to keep it to yourself."

The man tried to free his wrist as he angrily asked "Why is your grip so strong?" Silkie began to squeeze his wrist tighter as she said "Thank you for that compliment, but you really should apologize so we can both go out separate ways." The man glanced at Felix who was now standing a few yards away as he nervously said "I-I'm sorry." As Silkie let go of the man's wrist he quickly turned away and walked off as he complained that his wrist hurt." Silkie began to approach Felix as she said "Sorry about that… I guess I was just a bit upset since if you'd fallen and your hood came off there might've been some issues." Felix took a step back as she got closer and nervously said "Y-yeah… that might've been bad." As Silkie saw him back away she froze and sadly mumbled "B-but… I finally made progress… I ended up taking a step forward only to take two backward." Silkie pointed in front of herself as she sadly said "J-just… follow me this way." As Felix followed her he thought "Crap… I let my instincts get the better of me." As Silkie and Felix got to the food court Silkie pulled a chair out for him from one of the tables and said "Just sit here, I'll go grab something from one of the nearby stalls."

As Felix sat down Silkie walked off mumbling "I can't believe I just wasted all of that progress I made because of a few bad memories." Felix stared at her for a moment as he sighed and said "I'm such a coward." As Felix waited he set his head down on the table and said "Hey voice… how do I make that blue fire?" The voice seemed surprised as it said "That's rather random… why do you want to know?" Felix thought for a moment and then said "I don't know… it just sounds fun." The voice fell silent for a moment and then cheekily asked "Is this because you're constantly bored when you just sit around in your apartment doing nothing?" Felix flinched as he said "N-no." The voice began to laugh as it said "You can't fool me, besides that no wasn't very convincing." As Felix laid there he heard two unfamiliar voices and Silkie's voice approach the table. Felix raised his head and glanced towards the voices to see Silkie walking towards Felix while talking to two other women. One of the women had brownish hair and the other had blonde hair. Silkie stared at Felix as she smiled and said "Sorry, slight change of plans, my two friends will be joining us."

Felix stared at the two girls and then heard the voice say "I'll teach you how to use foxfire later, until then have fun on your date." The blonde woman stared at Felix for a moment and then asked "Are you her boyfriend?" Felix stared at her for a moment as he thought "Boyfriend? I am a guy, so I am a boy, and although I am scared of her I guess I am her friend." Felix nodded as he said, "Yup, I'm her boyfriend." Silkie's face became bright red as she said "I-I don't think you know what you're saying." The brown-haired girl glanced at Silkie while smiling as she said "So this is why you never went out to party with us." Silkie blushed as she said, "N-no that's not it… we aren't like that." Felix stared at her in confusion as she said "Felix explain to them!" The two girls glanced at Felix while smiling as they said "So your name is Felix? Make sure to take good care of her for us, okay?" Felix thought for a moment and then said "Actually she's been helping take care of me." The two girls glanced at Silkie while smiling as the blonde girl said "So you made the first move?" Silkie glanced away as she said "W-well… n-no."

Silkie glanced at Felix as she said "P-please explain it properly and stop giving them the wrong idea." The two girls stared at Felix as they asked "So how did you two meet?" Felix thought for a moment as he said "Another girl friend of mine named Lilac brought me back to her place and Silkie was there." The two girls stared at him in shock as the brown-haired girl said "You mean… that you have more than one girlfriend." Felix stared at her for a moment and then nodded as he said "Yeah, why is that weird?" Felix glanced at Silkie's bright red face as he asked "Is it strange?" Silkie got closer to him and pulled him towards herself as she whispered "P-please stop talking." The two girls stared at Silkie with a pitied look as the brown-haired girl said "He's two-timing you… and you don't even care." Felix stared at them as he thought "Two-timing? Is that another human expression… I haven't learned about this from my tree yet." Silkie pointed to Felix as she said "He's not a native speaker of English, so he probably doesn't realize what you're asking him." Silkie leaned in and whispered to him "If you can please speak another language… or make something up."

Felix thought for a moment and then began to speak very fluent Spanish. The girls stared at him as the blonde asked "But aren't the languages kinda similar when referring to a girlfriend." Silkie glanced at Felix with a pleading look as she tried to hide her bright red face while peaking through her fingers. Felix thought for another moment and then began to speak fluent Japanese. The girls stared at him for a moment and then glanced back at Silkie as the blonde-haired girl said "That's really impressive that he can speak three different languages so well." Silkie nodded as she said, "Yeah… but unfortunately he gets them mixed up a little just like he did a moment ago." The two girls began to walk off as the brown-haired girl said "Well we don't wanna bother you two love birds anymore so we're gonna go so you two can enjoy your little date." As they walked away Silkie let out a sigh of relief and said "That was really embarrassing." Felix watched them walk away as he thought "Did I say something wrong?"
