HIS EYES

Harry: (Suddenly exclaims) Annabelle!. (Struggles to stand on his feet, but he falls to the floor. Annabelle watches him struggle again and again with tears rolling down her cheek. She immediately helps him back to his wheel chair. Diana excuses them) I didn't think you'd come. I waited for you each day (staring deep into her sad eyes) and you came.

Annabelle: (Suddenly breaks down in tears) I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry, I'm sorry (apologizes repeatedly when Harry suddenly hugs her).

Harry: Shh..., it's okay. You're here now. (5 minutes later, they settle down). When I woke up, all I thought about was you. I didn't know where I was, or what had happened. I only wanted to see you. I was told I had been in coma for 4 years. I still can't believe it. Suddenly I found myself in a whole new world, with different people and a whole new house. I immediately knew I wasn't home, and I couldn't get to you (starts to cry) even if I pushed my wheelchair to it's limit, I still didn't know where I was or who I was anymore. (Uses his arm to dry his tears) I checked my phone a million times, but I never got any messages from you. I thought you had really left me. Did you?.

Annabelle: (Nodes in disapproval after so much pressure from within) No. I didn't. (Stutters) I... I had no idea if you were still in coma, awake, or even dead. I didn't know what to think or where to begin looking for you. One day Diana messaged me saying she was back home, here in the states. You don't know how happy I was to know that you were okay.

Harry: (Remembers what happened to him 4 years ago before he went into a coma) It was an accident. I was on my way home when it all happened. That mysterious car just bumped into me from no where. I don't know what happened after that. I just remember my car flying over his and the first person I thought of was you. I'm happy I made it through. (Caresses her cheek) I can finally see your beautiful face again.

Annabelle: Thank you, for being alive.

At David's House(10:00pm)

David arrives home with a gift bag containing a cake he bought for Annabelle. The maid suddenly approaches him.

Maid: Welcome home Sir.

David: Thank you Beatrice. Where's Anna?.

Maid: Upstairs in her room Sir. She's been in there all evening.

David: What about dinner?.

Maid: She already ate.

David: I won't be having dinner tonight. So, just put everything in the fridge.

Maid: Yes Sir.

David: (Hands over the bag to her) Put this in the fridge as well.

Maid: What is it?.

David: (Smiles) It's a cake for my lovely wife.

Maid: Right away sir.

David: Thank you Beatrice (she leaves for the kitchen while David makes his way upstairs. He stops in front of her door for about 10 seconds before going to his room. 1 hour later, he goes back downstairs and Annabelle still hasn't come down. He waits for another hour before deciding to go upstairs to her room. Knocks) Anna!. Are you in there?, are you okay?. (No answer) I just wanted to tell you that I'm home. If you're already asleep, then good night (still no answer. He thinks of opening her door to check on her, but he decides to respect her privacy and retires to his room).

In Annabelle's Bedroom

Annabelle who has been looking at the stars from her window while ignoring David's call, walks back to bed.

Annabelle: (Thinks out loud) Now that I finally met Harry, I still don't know how to face David. I want to continue seeing Harry, but at the same time I don't want to hurt David's feelings. What if he finds out about Harry?, what will I tell him?. I'm so confused.

DAYS PASSING

Annabelle constantly visits the hospital with Harry so the nurses can help him walk. The nurses would constantly massage his thighs right down to his leg muscles and then help him stand up from his wheelchair.

Harry: (Struggles to reach Annabelle who is 6 feet away from him, but he falls every time. This time around, the nurses try supporting his legs and arms with ropes tied around them so he doesn't fall when he tries to walk. He doesn't get his balances and he falls each time. Annabelle runs to him with pale eyes and wipes the sweat off his face. Laughs) I'm okay.

Annabelle: Are you sure?.

Harry: I'm really okay (rises to his feet again and struggles to walk).

At The Therapist's Office

Therapist: (To Harry in a calm and solitude voice) Imagine yourself walking, running, walking (repeatedly). Give your mind time to master the walking process. Free yourself from any difficulty, pain and anguish, let it all go away. Think positive, think like a fighter (Harry's eyes are closed as he starts to imagine. Annabelle is seated beside him).

At David's House

David goes to the kitchen and opens the fridge to get a bottle of cold water only to find the cake he bought for Annabelle still brand new.

David: She hasn't touched it. I'm sure the maid just forgot to mention it to her (grabs a bottle of water and goes back to his study. He tries not to think of Annabelle, but he ends up not doing any work).

At Geoffrey's and Jenifer's House

Annabelle meets Harry at the garden and hands over a cone of vanilla flavored ice cream to him.

Harry: (Smiles) Thank you.

Annabelle: (Sits beside him while inhaling and and exhaling the fresh breeze) Isn't it so wonderful? (eating her chocolate flavored ice cream).

Harry: I'm glad you haven't changed. You still love to eat ice cream, especially the chocolate flavor. That's your favorite.

Annabelle: (Smiles) I miss this.

Harry: Eating ice cream?.

Annabelle: Having conversations with you. While In coma, when I saw you fighting for your life, I wished you could hear my voice and just wake up.

Harry: I did wake up, because of you. I heard your voice in my dream and I immediately woke up. (They both stare at each other for a while. Harry suddenly grabs her hand and strokes affectionately) Even when you're right here with me, I still miss you.

At David's House(8:00Pm)

Annabelle arrives home and walks straight to her room upstairs when she bumps into David who had just left his study room and was about to go check on her.

David: You're home. (Slightly smiles) I finally get to see you.

Annabelle: (Stutters) I was just... from work. We... had a.. lot to do.. (David suddenly hugs her). What are you doing?.

David: I just missed you, that's all. I hope you don't over work yourself. I hope you're really happy.

Annabelle: I am happy.

David: (Lets go of Annabelle) I'm sorry, I was just (stutters) a bit worked up. I don't get too see you too often, (forces a smile) so the house seemed a bit lonely.

Annabelle: I'm sorry.

David: You don't have to apologize. It's really okay.

Annabelle: Do you want to grab a beer?.

David: (Surprised) What?.

Annabelle: (Smiles) I'll go quickly change and meet you downstairs.

David: (Grabs her hand) Wait. I don't drink alcohol. Is there something you want us to talk about?.

Annabelle: (Silent for a while before she finally speaks) No, I just really feel sorry. I'm sorry, I thought you liked alcohol. I've never actually (stutters) tasted.... alcohol.

David: Instead of alcohol, I have something for you (30 minutes later, David and Annabelle are downstairs eating the cake he bought for her).

Annabelle: (While enjoying the taste) This is really good. Where did you get it?.

David: I'm glad you like it.

Annabelle: (Smiles and sneakily rubs the creamy cake on his nose. Laughs) Look at your face, it's so funny.

David: (Wipes the cream off his nose. Smiles and suddenly confesses) I want to kiss you.

Annabelle: (Surprised, shocked, and her cheeks suddenly turns red) What?.
