30 Chapter 28 : A Temporary Peaceful Life
"Get up, you all. There's no need for such formalities, and shouting out loud in the forest may not be a wise thing to do" Wang Qian, after coming back to his senses, said to the people in front of him.
"Understood, my lord" They replied in unison, before standing back up.
After they did so, a period of silence happened between the two parties. Wang Qian didn't know what to say to them, while the believers were waiting for him to talk first.
"Let me start with the first thing. Since you all said that you are the demon lord's believer, does that mean you have a cult of your own?" Wang Qian asked.
"Replying to my lord, yes we do. The cult is spread across the continent with it being more focused on this kingdom." the leading old man answered.
'The whole continent?! Seriously? Was the previous demon lord that scary to the people? Does that mean I also possess strength that will make the entire continent beware of me?' he thought
"I see... Since we're already meeting here, I might as well give some task to you all."
His believers tensed up after hearing that he was going to give them his first order "Please say, my lord. We will do it perfectly for you." the old man said
"There's no need to be so tensed, it's just a small task. I want you all to restrain the people from wanting to get close to the two new B-rank adventurer that suddenly became around the city." he said.
"We understand, my lord. May I ask why does my lord want to do so? Are the two affecting my lord's plans?"
"No, it's just that every time I have to go out, I'll have to put on a cloak just not to get swarmed by them." Wang Qian said with a tone of sadness
Hearing the news, all of them was flabbergasted. The two people in font of them was the new B-rank adventurers that appeared in the city. Seeing a few people looking at him with faces of shock, Wang Qian coughed a few times before saying

He then notice that the old man was still there, as if there was something he wants to say.
"Old man, what's your name?" he asked
"Replying to my lord, this lowly one is called Jian Ze ( holding on to responsibility I guess that's what you get after translating into English )" the old man replied.
"Jian Ze, do you have anything to say? If not you can leave now."
"Replying to my lord, this lowly one has something to give you. It is an item that the previous demon lord gave to us, saying that we must give it back to him if we get to meet him" he replied as he took out a bamboo slip.
Wang Qian took over the bamboo slip from the Jian Ze's hands. Just as he was, wondering what it was, the system immediately sent him a message about it.

'It's a recording from the previous demon lord? But why is it fragmented though?' he pondered over the question in his head
Just then, Bai Lian, who was being quiet all along, asked
"What's this bamboo slip for? Does it contain anything special?" she said while looking at the slip from all kinds of angles
Hearing her question, Jian Ze replied,
"We don't know the use of it either. We were only told by the previous demon lord, Lord Edric , to give it back to him once we get to meet him again."
Jian Ze then continued on with asking a question to Wang Qian.
"May I ask something my lord?"
"What is it?"
"Can I know who is this child?"
"Oh, her? Her name is Bai Lian. My lovely daughter!" he said as he raised her up high.
Hearing his words, Jian Ze was in shocked as he never heard that the previous demon lord had a daughter while Wang Qian didn't seem to be that old.
"Does that mean my lord has found a woman that is willing to have my lord's child?" he asked
"No, I was entrusted by a person to take care of her." Wang Qian replied in a tone of sadness as he smiled towards Bai Lian.
"Since you've already passed me this, you can go back now."
"Understood my lord. We will definitely complete the task you have given us." Jian Ze said before leaving.
After he left, Wang Qian and Bai Lian continued to sit there, waiting for the magic crystal to be fully filled up. Bai Lian was also bored before she chose to sleep on his lap. Wang Qian didn't mind her as he patted her head softly, while humming a lullaby from his hometown.
Around 3 hours later, the magic crystal finally filled up. Wang Qian decided to let the girl continue sleeping as he carried her in his arms. He then picked up the crystal and stood up before dashing out of the forest, continuing on to get as close to the city's entrance as possible.
Seeing that the were about to appear in public eyes, he stopped running as he placed Bai Lian down on the ground. He then woke her up softly and gave her cloak back for her to be put on. They then held each others hands as they walked to the city's entrance and continued headed on to the adventurers guild to hand in the mission.
They passed the magic crystal to the staff at the reception counter and got their rewards. The system also rewarded him with some exp and 3 coins. After that, they headed back to the inn's restaurant and ordered the same type of meal. Finishing their meals quickly, they headed back up to their room and take turns to shower.
Today, Bai Lian wore the white dress after finishing showering. Wang Qian couldn't hold himself back again and hugged her tightly. After he finished showering, they both headed to sleep while cuddling each other.

The next morning, Wang Qian was woken up by Jian Ze, who was talked to him using the link.
'What is it?' he asked.
'My lord, we have finished your task perfectly. My lord doesn't need to wear cloaks whenever my lord wants to go out anymore.'
'Really? That's good! Now I don't have to worry about getting exposed by them anymore. Thanks for your hard work'
'It's what this lowly one should do. My lord also can stop taking missions from the guild now. Your loyal believers will help you pay for everything if you need to us to' Jian Ze added

"mhmm" Bai Lian replied while being half awake.

"You don't need to worry about that. Just tell me what you want, and I'll get it for you" He assured her.
Hearing so, she finally became fully awake and headed to the bathroom excitedly. Seeing this, Wang Qian was happy as a warm smile formed on his face.

Currently, Wang Qian is on walk with Bai Lian on his shoulder. They didn't wear their cloaks after Jian Ze helped him restrain their fans. Bai Lian is eating the strawberry flavored ice cream like dessert, feeling very happy that she gets to go sight seeing while having a dessert and sitting on top of Wang Qian's shoulder.

"I want to go see flowers!" she said happily
