Chapter 24 : On The Run Again!!

After the people in the guild calmed down, they returned to do what they were doing before. Wang Qian then asked the staff at the counter.

"Does the guild buy wolf skins? I have a few here that I would like to sell for money."

"The guild does buy such items, sir. But it will depend on the quality of the items your selling, else the guild won't buy it from you." the staff replied respectfully

"Is that so, then can you tell me where do I go to sell it? I'll ask the person there if they would accept it." 

"You'll need to go to the butcherer's shop at the back of this building, sir" 

"Okay, thanks for the information" Wang Qian said before turning around and exited the building

He then turned right and walked in the alley before turning right again. What appeared was a middle-aged man with his upper body naked standing there while holding a big knife. What surrounded him was the bodies of monster that he was tasked to skin and cut. Wang Qian covered Bai Lian's eyes first before walking to the man and took out the wolf skin that the old merchant gave him after asking his subordinate to skin the wolves and asked. 

"Sorry to bother you, but can you help me see how much these wolf skins are worth?"

The butcherer then stopped the work on his hands and took over the skin and inspected the quality of it.

"Hmm, it's quality is good enough and the market seems to be needing the wolf skin more recently... 3 silver quins. It's the most I can give you." the butcherer said after inspecting it closely.

"Deal" Wang Qian didn't bother negotiating with the man and gave the skin to him before taking the 3 silver quins.

He then exited the alley. Bai Lian then said.

"Wang Qian, can we go buy some of the delicacy we saw earlier? I'm starting to feel hungry" 

"Okay, my little princess. Anything you want." Wang Qian replied to her with a smile.

He then brought her to a roadside store which sell something that is similar to an ice cream. He then bought one strawberry flavored ice cream for 1 copper quins and gave it to her. Bai Lian took it over from his hands and started licking the ice cream. Sweetness and the chilling feel started her taste buds.

"mhmmm, it's tasty" she commented

"Is it? If so, I'll buy you one tomorrow too!" Wang Qian said happily after seeing that Bai Lian was happy.

"You don't need to, I wanna try something else tomorrow." she said

The pair then walked happily on the street as they talked to each other. He then brought them to an inn as he booked a room. The price of the inn was 2 copper quins per night and day. The worker then gave them the key to their room after they paid him 6 copper quins. Wang Qian then walked up the stairs while carrying Bai Lian as always. He then walked to his room and opened it. What he saw inside was two beds sticking to the left and right wall. Between the two beds was a small table with a vase on it. The vase had a yellow flower that gives off a smell that makes people happier after smelling. Wang Qian then walked in to the room as Bai Lian suddenly jumped off his arms before jumping onto the bed. He then opened a door that was on the right wall, revealing a small bathroom and a mirror inside. The inn also provided towels and things like shampoo for the guest who was staying. 

"Let's head down and eat dinner first. After that we'll take a bath before showering" Wang Qian said to Bai Lian.

They then head back down to the restaurant next to the inn. Wang Qian ordered 2 plates of rice with meat and some vegetable for him and Bai Lian. It was the highest he could afford if he wanted to save some money. The food arrived quickly. He took out some of his meat from his plate and placed it on Bai Lian's.

"You're still growing, so you should eat more" he said before patting her head, resulting her to smile back at him.

They then started to dig in. The food wasn't very tasty but it was acceptable considering it only cause 2 copper quins for 2 plates. They quickly finished and paid for the food before going back to their room. Wang Qian let Bai Lian shower first while he sit outside and wait. She followed his instructions and quickly headed to the bathroom. 

"Now then, Status"

"Now system, how is it that I can read this world's language as if I already learned it before?"

'The system can do that? That's scary considering you don't know when it did it.'

"Then onto the second thing. System, when is the second main quest coming out?"

"So my life is safe as long as the system doesn't give me a main quest huh..."

Just as he was deep in thought, pondering about what the system said, Bai Lian already finished showering and came out while wiping her wet hair

"It's your turn now!" she said to Wang Qian

"Okay." He then stopped think and got up. Just as he turned his head around to look at his daughter, he realized that her clothes right now are very dirty as they haven't even taken a bath before coming here.

"?" Bai Lian tilted her head as she saw that Wang Qian was staring at her.

"It's nothing. We should go buy some clothes tomorrow. We can keep on wearing these dirty clothes, can we?" He said to her.

He then went to the bathroom, and started taking a shower. After turning off the water, he wiped himself with the towel provided by the inn. He then wore back the clothes and got out from the bathroom. It was then time for the father and daughter pair to go to sleep. Despite having two beds, Bai Lian was used to sleeping with Wang Qian after all those time, and Wang Qian didn't mind. So, they ended up cuddling each other to sleep...

The next morning, Wang Qian woke up early and headed to the bathroom to take a bath first, leaving Bai Lian to continue sleep. Soon, Bai Lian woke up to the sound of the shower. Wang Qian then got out of the bathroom while Bai Lian took her towel and entered the bathroom and start her session.

After both of them got ready, they went back to the restaurant where they had dinner yesterday. Wang Qian ordered the same meals and gave most of his meat to Bai Lian, leaving himself with only a few pieces. They then started eating as they talked about what to do later. After finishing their meals, they headed to the nearest clothes store. Wang Qian let her pick three dresses of the ones she like as long as he can afford it. Hearing so, she started looking around , trying to find suitable dresses for her. Wang Qian also picked a blue shirt and a brown pants, the type where you see it on a villager. He then waited for Bai Lian to finish picking hers. After a while, she decided to just choose the dresses of the same series, which was the flower series. She picked the color blue, yellow and white as she felt that those colors would look better on her compared to the other colors. Wang Qian then carried the clothes and walked to the counter

"I'll like to buy these clothes please." Wang Qian said to the worker

When the worker raised his head, he saw Wang Qian who was carrying Bai Lian in his arms. He then remembered that yesterday, two B-rank adventurers was registered by the guild master's wife ,and that the two was a guy with an attractive aura on him while the other seems to be his daughter who has white hair and is always carried by him.

He compared the two in front of him with the information he heard, before finally coming to the conclusion that these two are the B-rank adventurers that was mentioned by the people.

"No problem. It'll be 3 copper quins, just give me 2 will be enough." The worker tried to leave an impression in the person in front of him.

"Here you go" he handed the money to the worker and just as he exited the store, he noticed that the entrance was already surrounded by a crowd.

"Look! It's the two B-rank adventurers!" Someone shouted.

"It's true! They are really as good-looking as the rumors has said to be!"

The people started closing in on the two, wanting to get close to them as possible. Just then, Wang Qian jumped out of the encirclement and ran back to his inn as fast as he could.

"They're running away!"

"Quickly follow them back to their house!"

The crowd then chase after the two, wanting to look at them longer

"Just what is up with this city?!?!" Wang Qian said as he tried to escape from the chase of his and Bai Lian's fans...
