"Actually at first that's what we thought but that's the treatment we get from him"

"Care to explain?"

Amias proceeded to explain that for the past few years Kaiden showed passive-aggressiveness to everyone in the capital. Gideon states that he was already like that prior to living in the capital and Amias just shook his head.

"Kaiden was looking for you all this time, right? But whenever we try to say that you're no longer relevant in his life, he gets angrier" Amias still continued to eat up the remaining cookies and Gideon just didn't mind at this point.

"But that still doesn't explain why you say it's different"

"I'm getting to that, so Kassandra earlier called you a peasant but as a response, Kaiden insulted her by calling her old. In a way, he was defending you. This is not the first time he did this that's why everyone is just confused on why he's hell-bent on looking for you like he wants to kill you but at the same time gets angry when someone else insults you"

Gideon was silent, not because Kassandra called him a peasant since he's already met that lady and knew that's just her way of speaking to other nobles. The fact that Kaiden defended him was odd indeed.

Amias looked like he wanted to say something else but he was unsure of it so he dismissed that idea for now.

"I just went here to tell you this because I'm constantly the person overlooked in that hall" Amias sighed and took the last piece of cookie from the tray.

"That being said, you need to be careful. There's a chance Azazel will swing by once he finds the opportunity to do so. Maybe he'll relocate you to a different place, hopefully not mine though because someone like you will not survive there"

"Why not?"

Gideon raised an eyebrow. After seeing Amias slowly reveal a smirk, he already knew what Amias meant. He shook his head profusely and his entire face was red.

"Looks like you already know the answer. Thanks for the cookies, I'll take my leave now"

Amias snapped his fingers and a flash of light appeared. Amias disappeared leaving a thank you note with his number on the chair he was sitting on previously.

'It's probably one of those cards he leaves for-'

Gideon shuddered not wanting to think about Amias' sex life but internally he thanked the man for the warning.

"So Kaiden was looking for me the entire time but at the same time, he would defend me… Kaiden, just what do you feel towards me?"

Gideon muttered to himself and proceeded to make another batch of cookies because it was all eaten up by an uninvited guest.

When Amias returned he was greeted by Azazel who had been looking for him the entire time. He explained that he quickly visited Gideon to give a heads-up on the situation. Azazel frowned because this only confirmed that Gideon did try to leave the capital. Amias whispered the reason why and even Azazel was a little confused by it.

"How on earth would Kaiden recognize him just at a single glance?"

It was the one thing that bothered Amias and Azazel that night but now they were certain that they can't hide Gideon from Kaiden. Amias just smacked Azazel on the head using his Cigarette holder since he was now allowed to smoke again.

"This is why I still call you a dumbass for swearing an oath!" He puffed out at Azazel.

Even though he insults Azazel like there's no tomorrow due to jealousy, You can't blame him for being worried for his own comrade.

"The kid wouldn't agree without it and I never expected that the prince would be this obsessed" Azazel whined while he rubbed the back of his head.

"I mean Azazel can handle the oath, right? At most, he'll just receive spiritual backlash but that can be healed in a few decades" Damien decided to butt into their conversation which was followed by Arda

"No! That would mean his workload would be passed onto me and I'm already stressed out by how much you keep killing demi-humans, Damien"

"What? It's part of my job to keep order even if it means I need to dirty my hands a bit and you can always pass it on Kassandra"

"Ah... I'm already busy with managing the creatures of the night and keeping the monsters that pests (humans) made with their experiments" Kassandra comments from the side.

"Then that leaves" Damien looks at Amias and then looks back at Arda.

"I send my condolences to your sleep schedule in advance" Damien patted Arda's shoulders.

"WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?!" Amias got angry at Damien and the two started their daily bickering once again.

"Ahh, you guys are so lively again" Luciel decides to butt in as well and this resulted in all of them shutting up and bowing down their heads in respect.

"Oh no just continue but I did overhear what you guys were discussing and I won't allow Azazel to be crippled for a few decades even if it means that Kaiden will finally be satisfied. Make sure to deal with this efficiently and don't forget our main goal"

Everyone nodded and the short unexpected meeting was dismissed.
