Heaven took a deep breath, standing in front of the door where she lived before her life spiraled out of control. She pulled up the lid of the passcode lock, putting in the combination of her place. But when she grabbed the knob, she froze. 

[If you want to go home tonight, I left your keys to your nurse.]

Heaven closed her eyes and took another deep breath, recalling Dominic's parting remarks. She didn't know Dominic kept the very first thing she bought with her own hard-earned money.

He would've surely told her if only she asked back then.

A bitter laugh slipped past her lips, biting her lips as tears formed in the corner of her eyes. When she took another deep breath, she finally mustered the courage to open the door. As soon as she did, the dim lights automatically switched on.
