Elliot's breath hitched when Ram's weight landed on him. They both fell on the ground with the latter on top of him. He intuitively placed a hand on Ram's back, feeling this thick and hot liquid drenching his back. Even without looking at it, Elliot knew what it was. 

Blood. 

"He's shot!" he shouted, but before he could even say what happened, Ram's men already rushed to them with bullet-proof vests to cover them. Ram's other men pulled out their weapons, dispersing to find the shooter. 

"Mr. President!" Elliot gazed down, shaking Ram aggressively. "Mr. President, can you hear me!?" 

"Ugh…" Ram let out a short grunt, keeping a hand on the ground while the rest of his body leaned on Elliot. He ground his teeth, breathing growing jagged, the pain in his back spreading.
