Chapter 2

Haru looked at his dazzling figure for a while before remembering a clear description of a boy in the 'Claire Katz and her adventures.

The novel had only 2 pages so it didn't go much into the boy's description but it was clearly stated that the boy had silver hair and purple eyes. The novel, while it didn't give much description of the boy, it gave a much more gore description of his death while the boy asked the protagonist to see the world in his stead.

Haru sighed, feeling immense pity for the boy who died because the author wanted the male leads to comfort the heroine.

Haru yelped loudly when his mind started filling with memories but they were not his own. In pain, Haru realized that these memories were of the original.

Haru painfully sorted out his memories and found that the boy was born to a prostitute. Originally, the prostitute wanted money from his father whose name he didn't know, however when the woman took him to meet his father, she was thrown out before she could even meet the man.

The woman was furious and seeing how she was only spending money on the boy without getting anything in return, she mercilessly threw the boy into the forest.

The boy had cried for days waiting for his mom to come back, believing that she would not leave him in this forest before he finally fainted in starvation.

After waking up, the boy realized that he was cruelty abandoned and had roamed the forest for 2 days, eating leaves and fruits, before finally reaching the hut which seemed to be old and no sign of living. The boy bravely ventured inside and he found a mirror, a dirty bed, and a small kitchen. The boy was joyful for the hut but his stomach was painfully hurting from the hunger and he carelessly ate a poisonous mushroom. If the boy had gotten treated by a doctor then there was a high chance of saving the boy but he died, in pain and feeling so lonely on this shabby hut floor.

Haru was solemn for the boy. His thoughts unwillingly went to his mother who left him after her rich boyfriend said that he wouldn't marry her if she didn't leave him. He could only watch silently after being slapped when he tried to stop her, shedding tears as she packed her bag without any hesitation and left after giving him a cruel smirk.

"I am sorry. I have taken your place without your permission in your body. If I had any way to give you this body back, I would have done it. This world was way too cruel to you and I can only hope that you find peace in the afterlife and if you reincarnate, God, have pity on the boy and don't give him such a pitiful life."

Haru moaned for the boy who died and whose painful death only he would ever know about. Haru took a deep breath before standing up firmly, his eyes which once were filled with tears were wiped clean by his hands.

Now, he has to find a way to survive in this enormous forest.

Haru carefully searched the hut if there was anything he could be used for cooking. He found a steel knife, a pan, some bowls, and plates. He also found some alcohol! The useless junk was thrown aside and he wanted to cry as he found that there was only salt no spices! How would he gonna cook if he doesn't have spices?!

He will die! He will surely die! If there's no food then he will die! Remember Haru… try to remember when you saw a survival documentary, what was the most important thing in it? …Water! Yes, it's water! I should try to find some water first!

Haru who had fallen on his knees in despair strengthened up and ran outside the hut before coming to a stop.

Didn't the forest have wild animals? What if…What if a lion came?

Haru sweated in fear before his stomach growled. He looked at his stomach and decided that he was gonna die of hunger before an animal could even eat him.

He decided to take the kitchen knife with him for protection though he doubted it would be much of use.

He needed to find a river so that he won't die from thirst.

Haru walked slowly in the right direction hoping to not get lost in this forest. The original owner had not eaten anything other than mushrooms so he was extremely hungry right now. While walking, he made sure to see if there were any fruits on the tree.

After walking for half an hour, he heard a stream of water. He quickly ran to where the sound was coming from.

'Please, it's a river! A big beautiful river!'

Haru pleaded internally as he ran wearing worn-out shoes.

He gasped in delight when he saw a big river from a distance. He carefully walked, making sure not to slip and not make any sound to attract any animal nearby.

"The water's so clean! And oh! Is that a fish? Has my luck finally overturned?!" Haru exclaimed happily after seeing there was no animal and jumped up and down as he happily looked at the water.

He instantly knelt not caring about the brown rough pants he was wearing and directly drank from the river.

"The water is delicious!" He said joyfully, drinking till his thirst was quenched before his smile turned to a grimace. "I hope no one has pissed in this river."

"Now how should I catch a fish?" He asked himself trying to forget if he had just drunk polluted water. He looked at the beautiful fish in the water.

He had never gone fishing in his past life, he had only seen it on T.V. He groaned as his head hurt from thinking so much.

How did the original character survive anyway? He lived till 18 in this forest. If the heroine didn't kill him, then he would have surely lived a long life. If that little boy could find a way to live in this forest, then He could too!

Haru thought determinedly and tried to remember everything about the novel. What were the main things the novel focused on?

The Heroine, the Villainess, the 3 male leads, and…magic!!!

Haru was appalled that he had forgotten such an important thing. "How could I forget that magic existed in this world?!" He scolded himself angrily before looking at his white small hands. "Does that mean…I can do magic?"

Haru had never believed in magic in his past life. He believed it was some tricky tricks magicians used to gain money. He was a perfect definition of a model child. He was good at studies, was bright and didn't lag in sports, and was good-looking. Everyone believed that he had everything. They never bothered to see behind his mask that he was so good in studies and sports because he didn't want his mom to leave him if she found that he was just wasting her money. He did everything he could to please his mother but she left him with a slap on his face, not giving him a single thought. Then to not become completely homeless, he found himself a part-time job whose owner pitted him and gave him the job without an interview.

Since then, he worked part-time and studied hard so that he could leave that hell behind. He never had time to think about magic and read books.

Now that he can do magic, he was filled with childish excitement.
