12 V1C11 - As Dense As They Come

I spend the next few days trying to figure out the genre of the novel I have transmigrated into.

First of all, I look for the classic Yamato Nadeshiko (standard long back haired beauty in light novels and mangas) and there is exactly one.

But the issue is that I do not want to approach her.

Why you may ask?

Now trying to even remotely have a good platonic relationship with her and get the details of the plot by learning of it through her is impossible since my approach would be misunderstood; right now most of the male students approaching her won't be doing so for pure reasons, well except for those who are purely horny.

.

The second target to look for is the social butterfly.

They usually have short blond hair are popular with the general collective and kind to everyone.

Number found - exactly one.

Well her status didn't seem established yet since she didn't seem so socially active but its a matter of 'when' and not 'if'.

Once again countless rejections.

And I don't want to approach her either, I mean what if she gets charmed by this handsome me?

*cough*

It seems like my narcissism is acting up after a meager haircut.

But neither of these two will be able to satisfy my desire to closely observe the drama.

.

Now since I don't know who the protagonist might be, I tried finding by type: popular - 2 or so, gloomy - not many but one almost made the list.

There weren't any other types of protagonists and I couldn't categorise 'normal' protagonists because the rest of the students all look normal to me and any one of them could be it if I try to include normal.

Knowing all this I selected the most likely target and my luck seemed to work out as I had a good chance to approach this person.

The work place study tours came around.

We had to make groups of 4 and since I wanted to join the suspected protagonist, Miura, Shinji, Hina and Minami joined a group.

It took a little convincing and a vow not to cause trouble to Minami before I was let go.

Hence I joined out suspected protagonist's group.

"It took a while but we're finally here."

Says our suspected protagonist Yosuke Yukishiro.

He has golden hair, green eyes, good height and build, part of the football club.

"Yes, it has been quite populated on the metro today. Oh look Yosuke, you're all sweaty."

Responds the person who is my reason for choosing Yukishiro as my target.

This was Marika Kaneko, long dark blue hair reaching her waist, brown eyes, short stature and childhood friend of Yukishiro.

She was casually wiping the sweat off Yukishiro's face while he was blushing under the towel.

"Are they intentionally doing it or is this for real?"

I ask as I was struggling to comprehend reality.

"Hehehehe, life is all good once you stop chasing impossible goals."

Laughed Megumi Todou, short green reaching her shoulders, purple eyes and Kaneko's friend.

That laugh sounded like that of a tired parent that has stopped to preach their kids and has given up on them.

It seemed like she tried to fix them up together but both of these wierd and dense assholes have turned her efforts into waste

And frankly I feel for her.

The thing I hate when reading novels is dense protagonists.

War crimes are fine. But dense protagonists? That's where I draw the line.

Through out our journey from the school towards the manga publisher of 45 minutes, I have witnessed things that could match at least 25% of the content on any random 'signs she likes you' site.

From what I've seen the situation has a simple summary: one dense idiot who cares for the other more than his mother has ever done and doesn't realise she's in love, and another dense idiot that doesn't seem to realise the first dense idiots feelings and can't summon the courage to take the final step.

I want to interfere right at this moment and lock this two in a room where they don't come out unless they're honest with each other.

But I can't damn it.

I can't take away the chances of the other heroines.

Besides what the fuck am I even supposed to do after patching them up?

Who eats all the truckloads of popcorn I have ordered for this drama?

I proceed with the work place study tour frustrated while Todou seems oddly happy someone is suffering just like her.

That night, like every night, I go to the riverbank to relax and listen to music.

20 minutes later, it starts drizzling slowly.

I look up at the sky and see that it wasn't going to be just a few drops.

Fucking hell!

It was as if the rain gods were watching me have a miserable day and were feeling like I hadn't suffered so they took extra care for me.

I let out a few curses before trying to find some shelter.

I could try to go home but I would pretty much end up getting drained.

Luckily a pedestrian bridge was just there so I ran there before the rain drenched me.

I go under the bridge and try to dry off my hair when suddenly I hear footsteps.

I look behind me and it seems like there's someone who followed me to get under cover.

They were wearing a hooded blue jersey along with a matching track pants.

I think I might have seen them somewhere...

"Oh its that weirdo..."

"You're that wierdo..."

We both point our hands at each other and speak out simultaneously and then pause after hearing what each other said.

Its awkward.

We're both standing there pointing our hands at each other after calling each other weird.

Should I call Guinness World Records and try and get awarded "World's Most Awkward Standoff"?

After a while, I couldn't take the awkwardness of the situation and start laughing.

And they, no rather, she started laughing as if infected my my laughter.

The voice was of a girl but it wasn't girly yet it seemed soft.

After a while we calm down and I ask her what I was curious about.

"Why did you call me weirdo though. I don't remember doing any weird thing near the riverbank?"

"Huh? Do you not have any self awareness? You looked like you were treating the concrete stairs like how one treats their precious couch. I was fearing you would melt down any moment the first time I saw you."

Huh?

Was I really looking like that?

Wait, now that I think about it...

"Hahahaha"

I start laughing like mad as I imagine looking at myself from a third-person's perspective.

And once again she also laughs like mad as if infected by me.

My stomach starts aching and I go on my knees and yet the laughter doesn't stop.

"Please, hahaha. Stop, my hahaha. Stomach hahaha"

I look over at her clutching her stomach in pain as her face is a weird combination of laughter and pain.

I finally lose all control and let all laughter loose and fall on the floor.

Ugh, my stomach.

I try to calm myself down and slow

And not a second later she collapses.

I lose my shit once again and let loose my laughter.
