26 Chapter 26: Surprise Moon’s Proposal

As I was getting closer to the pack house, I noticed that there were only a few lights on at the front porch which confused me. It only happened when everyone was out of town which also made me wonder where my gang went since they were the first one who drove back here. I'm seriously, not used to this quietness around the pack house since it used to be full of life - I mean, too noisy like everything was fun. Kids to be exact. Anyway, as I ignored the dimness and the quietness of the house, I just went to the garage to park my baby Dark. good thing, I always had a spare key along with me which made me get inside the house to check where they were up to and still quiet.

"Where are they?" I asked which made Lena chuckle but immediately shut her mouth since I glared at her. She knew something.

I groaned which made me sniff the air around the house which I can tell that they were here awhile ago. But when I noticed something by the sliding glass door by the living room, curiosity got the best out of me. I opened the door and in only a few steps, I noticed some small lanterns lightened my path. I followed the trail and I was shocked at what I'm seeing since they never used the garden for outdoor dinner. But I was more curious and excited about the lanterns pathway which I followed till my eyes landed on the end of the lanterns since there's the grand piano that was supposed to be in the music room. I tilted my head to my side since I've been wondering how they manage to put it here, underneath the cherry blossom tree that was near the lake.

"What's going on here?" I asked myself as some butterflies began to cloud my stomach as I kept walking.

I looked around and I saw my parents with the other pack members as well my gang. I was confused but they were having fun talking about random stuff until they felt my presence. I was about to ask them but they just pointed me to the other way where the piano was. I was getting nervous as those butterflies kept flying on my stomach to my chest till I heard a melody. A kind of song that really resonates within my heart. The song was entitled My Heart Belongs to You by Hayley Wastenra and it was being played now by my one and only mate who irritates my nostrils big time. She's playing them. I don't know what got into me since my heart began to ache and I never realized that my tears already fell down to my cheeks.

I can feel Ceres through this line even more since she's a vampire who's been through a lot in her years of living. Now that she has me, she's not regretting the love she's willing to give and share to me; her mate.

I can't take it anymore because it was seriously true. I have her heart and so does she to mine. We both hold each other and there's no turning back. I can't run away from these, my feelings toward my Ceres. I stopped walking instead, I just ran toward where she was and hugged her from behind. Ceres might be surprised at what I just did but she never stops from playing the piano with all of her heart. I can feel them especially through this song which I didn't care if I am crying right now onto her shoulder. And for my irritation a while ago just vanished.

"I love you." I whispered while hugging her which she stopped from playing the song while giggling and I whined.

Ceres stood up from the piano and went to face me. She was wearing her calm smile which made me look at her moonlight eyes and I can tell that she was happy from hearing those words from me. I smiled as I wiped my tears from my face. She chuckled a little which earned her a light slapped on her shoulder then she lent me a hand that I'm so glad to take. We both stepped away from the piano and went closer to the tree which was almost a few steps near the lake. As we reached the spot, her hands against mine suddenly squeezed it which made me nervous for some reason till she finally spoke.

"I didn't expect you to hug me or even to confess…" Ceres chuckled that made me again, slap her shoulder.

"Well, I'm just saying that...I didn't anticipate that reaction of yours so I have to make another plan for it." Ceres continued which confused me. Again, she chuckled toward my reaction.

Ceres walked a little further to me then she removed her shoes and she let her feet touch the water. She let it soak there as she let the surroundings illuminate everything around us. I took my seat next to her and even leaned my head to her shoulder.

"I know it was too soon for us but Belle, kidding aside and let me ask you something if that's okay with you." Ceres said with such seriousness within her tone as her eyes looked from afar.

"What is it then?" I asked as I tried to read her but she was like a piece of blank paper.

"Will you hold me not just now but through our lifetime as my real queen and my wife?" Ceres asked while holding my left hand tightly and still looking afar.

I didn't know what to say since I was caught off guard by her question which made me keep repeating them over and over again through my head.

'She's proposing, stupid.'

"I know but did I hear it right? Or is it just a wind? Dammit! My heart is beating too loud." I said to Lena that seriously my heart was totally beating too loud through my ears. I held my chest tightly like I couldn't breathe.

I was lost of words but those words were repeating it over and over again which I never realized a spark of light hit me. I might not breathe properly from hearing them and my eyes began to water again which made me cover my lips since my mouth couldn't form any words or how to express every emotion that I am feeling right now.

"Take your time, I can wait…" Ceres calmly said as she noticed that I can't find any words to respond to it. Something in me suddenly twitched and I don't like those words.

"NO! I mean, no time to lose this time around, Ceres." I said as I wiped my tears away then met her eyes for real.

I don't care if my eyes won't stop from crying. I just held her hand tightly before I let it go since I'm gonna kiss her lips. As our lips touched, I could feel some butterflies finally flew out and this simple yet meaningful kiss still made my heart throb like it was its last beat.

"Of course. I'm all yours, Ceres." I finally responded to everything I've got and we kissed again.

Then Ceres pulled out the simple black box with silver rose moon craved on the cover and took out the moonstone ring. The ring was simple but beautiful since I had never seen it before. The design of the ring was a knot that twisted together and a crescent moon that almost connected to a rainbow moonstone which reflected her soul. I chuckled at how beautiful the ring was which I never noticed that it was already on my ring finger. I smiled lovingly at the ring but I heard some sniffling which came from my mate, Ceres.

"Ceres?" I wonder why she was crying.

"It's been 500 years of living and I've been trying to survive my own without any mate next to me. I'm barely alive when I found you. I still can't believe that the Goddess let me have you, Belle." Ceres cried as she pulled my left hand and kissed the ring that she just gave me.

"You made my world whole again. Everything about me is all yours including those untold stories of my past. I will share them with you at the right time but as for now let me share and say...I love you, my queen." Ceres continued which made me blushed and pulled her closer to my arms since it was very rare to see her weakness.

I might be surprised that she was crying right now but I like the way she's showing her weakness to me. It really made me feel so special. I know that I am since the very first night she laid her eyes on me and even though it took me some time, she's really special to me.

"Shall we go back and celebrate with them?" She asked me as she wiped her tears.

"Okay?" I wondered if that made her chuckle then we stood up from the shore before we went to where the pack had their fun.

When we got back, I'd been teased by my gang as well as my sister since I was engaged and I can't wait to be wedded to her.

"Ceres, I vow to love you with everything I have and soon to have. I love you, my irritation." I mate linked to my lovely irritating vampire, Ceres.

I glanced to where she was and when our eyes met, I knew that this love we have was something that can't be broken by anything.

"I love you too, my queen." I responded to her link even the last part was her teasing about me since I was her lovely irritation that she'll ever have.

I turned to Luna and hugged her which made me teary-eyed since she's acting like my mother from the day she let me stay here. I even hugged the Alpha before wiping my eyes even more.

"Thank you for letting me stay in your pack and giving shelter. Thank you for letting me join your family when I have none and for letting me love your daughter with everything I am. Thank you." I cried all of my gratitude to them which only led to received another motherly hugged from the Luna.

"I don't care if she found a mate from another species but I do care of the personality of a mate for my daughter and I can see those kindness of love in you. Plus, this pack wasn't bound by the old teachings since generation changes itself. Also, my daughter finally loosen up around you. I'd love to see that more often." Alpha said which warmed my heart since he didn't care about the status or the gender of the mate of her daughter. He was more concerned if that mate would treat her daughter right.

I know for generations of long history of conflicts between mortal enemies, things began to change as time passed by. We all don't know what lies ahead of us and the only thing we could do was to face them head on. Try to understand the changes might occur and learn from every step we're going to make. I'm more willing to do that along with this pack especially along with my lovely mate.

"So, when will I be a grandmother?" I was suddenly being caught off guard when Luna mentioned it. I looked at the Alpha and he was surprised as well which led us on laughing.

Now, my mind was thinking of it but before that...wedding bells first.
