7 Chapter 7: Wild Beast Hell

"Ahh, I accidentally blurted out my ambition again, but what you said is makes sense, hurry up and catch this strange guy!"

Hannyabal didn't bother to ask any more questions and led the people to continue after the fugitive.

On the other side, Luo Ning has come to the second floor. Compared with the first floor, the second floor has almost no jailers. After all, this floor is Wild Beast Hell, where there are a lot of strange creatures.

These creatures are constantly wandering around on the second floor. It's okay to stay in the cell. Once they come out, they are basically giving rations to each other, and it seems that as time goes by, they will become the rations of these monsters sooner or later.

"Hey, how did you get out of the cell?"

After arriving on the second floor, they haven't encountered any monsters yet. As a result, the criminals in the cell were surprised when they saw Luo Ning, a prisoner out of his cell.

Luo Ning didn't even pay attention to them, and at this moment a huge centipede rushed out from the corner.

"It's a giant bug made of scorpions!"

The prisoners huddled together in the corner of the cell, shaking with fear.

Wait a minute, Luo Ning thought, trying to remember. This thing...

After a moment, it hit him. The monstrous creature looked like a giant centipede, but each segment was actually a separate scorpion. Normally, it moved around as a centipede, but it would break apart to fight enemies. It was a strange and dangerous beast.

Luo Ning didn't worry about its special abilities though. He tried to get the creatures to attack him, but these guys couldn't even get past his defenses.

"My defense is unbeatable, even these weak scorpions can't scratch me"

Luo Ning casually killed the scorpions, seeing them as experience points to level up. As long as he avoided very strong enemies early on in Impel Down, each floor would be a big boost.

Killing the scorpions also gave him a significant amount of freedom points.

"He killed them? What kind of defense is that? The scorpions can't even break his skin!"

The prisoners watching were shocked, including the guards on the second floor.

The commotion attracted a lot of beasts.

"A Basilisk and a Manticore! They're here!"

A Basilisk is a powerful creature in Impel Down. Manticore, the jailer on the second floor, is a scary-looking lion.

This lion can mimic simple words from others.

These beasts are terrifying for the prisoners on the second level. Even with a key, they wouldn't dare leave their cells. If they can't defeat these beasts, they'll be eaten alive.

"More experience points!"

Instead of panicking at the sight of the monsters, Luo Ning was excited. They were just more experience for him to level up.

The freezing cold spread fast, turning the Manticore into solid ice in a blink. Basilisk, much bigger and stronger, wasn't frozen completely.

However, the frigid air slowed it down a lot.

Luo Ning, meanwhile, reached Basilisk and landed a powerful punch.

This giant creature stood tens of meters tall, dwarfing Luo Ning. But size doesn't mean everything.

The punch, crackling with power, slammed into Basilisk's massive body, sending a shockwave exploding outwards.

The colossal beast was sent flying like a ragdoll, crashing through several walls before finally coming to a halt. Its enormous form was twisted and mangled. The force of the blow had travelled through its entire body, shattering its bones into pieces.

"No way... that can't be real! The Basilisk got taken out in one hit?!"

The prisoners couldn't believe their eyes. What kind of power was that?

Truth be told, if it had been Luo Ning before his training, there was no way he could have defeated that monster so easily. But from the 1st Floor to the 2nd Floor, his strength had been growing rapidly with each battle.

This whole "fight to level up" thing felt like playing a game, where you gained experience and got stronger. It was pretty awesome, Luo Ning had to admit.

Just as he was about to find the boss on this floor, the Sphinx, a wave of hunger hit him.

"Got so caught up in the fight, I forgot I was starving!"

He'd been so excited about getting a cheat ability that he completely ignored his empty stomach.

Now the hunger pangs were back, but there was no way Luo Ning was going to eat one of those creatures. They were all cannibals, and even though their flesh got digested after, the thought of eating people just wasn't something he could stomach. Still, the idea was kinda unsettling.

"The Visionary's power lets you create food with your mind, but it disappears as soon as you stop thinking about it. Not exactly super useful, really. Speaking of which, freedom..."

Luo Ning remembered the "freedom" aspect of the power, which could remove the limitations of abilities. Maybe he could modify it to imagine food that wouldn't disappear?
