Chapter 1

A boy with grayish-white hair and gray eyes stared up at dark sky. He was left with his thoughts... Why wasn't he as strong as his classmates. Everyone could use magic and elements flawlessly, while he struggled to form a magic missle. He glanced over at the magic academy. He was a great learner, he had no problem paying attention in class. But when it came to actually performing the magic, he failed. He took a few steps. He wondered... what would it take to be as strong as everyone in the academy...

Hello, my name is Hooder. I attend this pretentious academy for learning magical powers and abilities. Mainly everyone that attends this academy grow up to super strong and powerful. And I say mainly.. because I'm not part of the strongest students. I'm considered the weakest in the academy. That's because, I am unable to use magic in any category. And honestly, it's still unknown to me why. But what I would do to be able to use magic... But enough of that.

I was on my way to class. I held my hand out, staring down at it. I began to focus, "Come on.." All that came out, was a small spark of electricity. That small thing seemed to drain all the power out of me. "Dammit.." I rose my head and tighten the grip on my backpack. While walking however, came the worst part of my life. I heard laughing, coming from behind me. As much as I wanted to ignore them, I knew that would just make it worst. So, I stopped and turned around.

Three students walked up to me, laughing their asses off. "Well look who it is. Going to attend class just for you to fail again?" One of the students off to the side said, pointing towards me with their index finger. "Right, you should give up and go back home to your mommy!" The one on the left side shouted, wiping his cheeks like there were tears. Then, the one in the middle cracked their Knuckles, "Let me show you have to actually use magic, you worthless piece of trash!" My eyes widened, as flames engulfing the middle man's fists. He took a step forward and a threw his fist towards me. I rose my arms to block the firey punch. Once the punch connected, I felt the flames burn through my clothes, eventually reaching my arms. I grunted as smoke came from his fist.

"Argh!" Then the force of the punch sent me back, crashing into a locker. I fell to my knees. I rose my forearm and looked at it. My skin was burned and chard. I rose my head to look at my attacker, but a kick flew towards me before I could. The kick knocked me onto my side. "Pathetic.." The group walked off.. Leaving me here, looking Pathetic as he said... I wish I was strong...

I was sitting at the back of the academy, I usually change spots everyday so the likely hood of anyone knowing where I eat lunch at is unlikely. I stared down at my hand again, trying to activate magic. Again, a small spark of electricity sparked in the palm of my hand, before fading away. I sighed and just ate my lunch.

There has to be something I'm missing... I grabbed my glass of water and took a sip. Maybe I'm just not capable.. I glanced up at the sky. Maybe I'll check the library, it might have something that might help. But that's wishful thinking. I continued to eat my lunch.

I was now in class. We were learning more about mana, the source of your magic abilities. It's basically like.. it's hard to explain. Think of mana as a pool. You use any kind of magic, the pool slowly drains. Until it eventually gets empty. Once it's empty, you can't use magic. And believe me when I say, when you run out of mana, it hurts like hell. I stared down at my desk.

"Hooder." I jumped, looking at the teacher. "Are you paying attention, everyone here knows you need to." It felt like a spear was thrown into my heart, even the teachers doubt me... "Yes... sir..." He nodded and went back to teaching. I grabbed my pencil and began to take notes.

It was the end of the day, and it was time to put my plan into work. I tighten the grip on my backpack, heading towards the library. It felt like I was going in slow motion, maybe it was because I wasn't ready to have my hopes shattered. But, it was my only chance to be strong, so I had to take it.

Once I reached the library, I took a breath in and stepped inside. Alright, here goes nothing. I began to browse the books, finding some about mana, different magic types, combination magic. But nothing about how to improve. I was getting a lot of looks, which made this awkward... I was at the back of the library, no one was here which was good on my part. I looked around the shelves. Dammit nothing...

Well, I did notice a book. It had no words, so I paid no attention to it at first. But the second noticing it, I decided to grab it. I pulled on it, but it wouldn't move. Now I was really glad no one was back here, I'd rather not have people watch me struggle. As I pull on it more it more, it finally moved, almost like a lever. "Huh?" I then heard something, almost like a door. I turned around, noticing a hole in the wall. It looks like a corridor. I walked up and looked inside. Should I go in..? I took a step inside as the door behind closed, leaving me in the dark. Dammit, I knew going inside was a bad idea..

Now I can't see. But then, a small torch came out of the wall. I blinked at it, before eventually grabbing onto it. I began walking. Man, I wonder where this leads to. I don't think this is on the map of the academy. I looked around, it seems like moss or something is growing on the wall, yup this is definitely an old area. I looked down and noticed stairs, this is a bad idea. But as far as I know, I'm stuck in here.

I looked back, I didn't see a lever to open the door or anything.

I looked back down towards the stairs and began stepping down them. I let out a breath, man it's musty in here, but it makes sense. After what felt like forever, I finally reached the end of the stairs. "Finally." I said outloud. I looked around, continuing to walk.

Man when does it end? As if this place read my thoughts, I reached what looked like an old library. Huh. I walked around the old shelves. They barely had books on them, and the books that were on there were unreadable. Is this all that's down here? I continued roaming around the old library. I looked up and down at almost everything.

But then, something stood out. It was a green book. It was easy to spot not only because it was only book on the shelf. I got curious and grabbed it. On the cover it was just words, "Summoning Spell." I frowned at it, and began to flip it open. It began to give the details on how to use this Summoning Spell. I don't see why not. So it says I have to sit the book in the middle of the room, flipped to the page with the summoning circle. I have to be on my knees, and say, 'Delphyne.' I shrugged and did as the book said. I walked to what felt like the center of the room, got on my names and stared at the book.

I took a breath. "Delphyne." I waited, as green electricity began sparking around the book. My eyes widened, as I noticed it began to flow from the book to the ground, coming towards me. I-I can't move!! The electricity touched me, as it electrocuted me. I let out scream of pain. Did I do something wrong? Why does a summoning spell electrocute you?! After a few more seconds of pain, it ended. I fell down, steaming coming off my body. It felt like I was dying... And I have no help down here, so... I might die down here...

Then suddenly, my wounds began to heal? What the..? I was able to open my eyes. I then slowly got to my knees.. There was a shadow above, so I looked over to what it was. I looked at my healer. My eyes widened as I quickly got back. The people jumped at my surprise. They brought their hand to their chest.

This person was a girl. She was small, but despite that she looked the same age as me.. and she was very innocent looking. Her hair was long and hot pink. Her eyes were emerald green. But the most noticeable thing about her was the dragon horn on her forehead.

We both looked at each other confused. D-D... Did it work? Is this... Delphyne..?
