11 Another Face Slap.

They'd already underestimated me to the very core. That's human beings for you, they easily judge a book by its cover.

Exactly what happened at the first supermarket I entered...

"You want me to leave when I haven't finished taking what I want to take?". I uttered glancing at the young man.

Apart from the customers glancing at the occurrence, other workers in the supermarket were glancing at the occurrence as well.

"Yes, you don't need to finish taking what you want to take 'cause you wouldn't be able to pay for them. As I told you, we don't sell free things here, so you better take your leave". He voiced out once again.

I shook my head a little before saying, "No, I wouldn't leave, you can't push me out just like that. Other people are in here taking whatever they want to take which they'd pay for. I'm also doing the same, and you want to kick me out just like that?

No, it isn't fair, I'm not going anywhere. I'd stay here and take everything I want to take before leaving".

"Okay, do you have enough money to pay for the things you're taking?". He inquired.

"Yes". I responded.

"You're lying".

..He asked me a question, I gave him a response, but he concluded that I was lying.

So what was the need to ask when you've already concluded something in your heart? They'd already underestimated me to the very core.

There's nothing I'd tell him now that would make him believe I had enough money to pay for the things I was taking. I'd only have to prove him wrong by showing him the money...that's the only way.

"I'm not leaving anyway". I stated.

"Do you want me to call the securities on you?".

I didn't say anything to his question, I was only staring at him...

Then I started hearing people's voices say...

"Why don't you leave this wretched man?".

"Not only that he's extremely poor, he's also stubborn".

"What kind of person was this?".

Yes, these utterances were flowing out of their mouths, they were more brutal here than the first supermarket I entered.

Their words got to me somehow...umm, they hurt a little. And I just felt like doing the face slap at that moment, but I decided to wait some more.

Now, the young man was still telling me to leave, and the supermarket was filled with murmurings as everywhere was so noisy when a certain woman walked into the supermarket.

She was dressed in a white shirt, black fitted skirt, and a bit of high heels. She was looking so classy...

She was the manager of this supermarket but wasn't the owner. Now, the moment she stepped foot into the supermarket, she began hearing the noise.

And she was like, 'What is going on here?'.

She began walking toward where the noise was coming from. It was easy to locate 'cause a lot of customers were glancing in that direction.

The moment she reached there, and the young man noticed her, he quickly bowed his head a little before greeting her. The other workers around also did the same.

Then she was like, "What is going on here? Why all this noise?".

He didn't waste time to point at me before saying, "Ma, it's because of this young man here. I've been telling him to leave, but he's been refusing. He came here picking up clothes that he wouldn't be able to pay for,

And I've already told him we don't sell free things here, but he's been refusing to leave. I mean, look at his dressing and his hair, he's looking so poor. It's evident he wouldn't be able to pay for the things he's taking,

So I kindly told him to leave, but he's been refusing...and that's why it led to noise".

..The lady had already noticed what the man was talking about.

She'd already glanced at me from up to down, and I was looking so wretched, no doubt. She didn't want to be rude, so the first question she asked was,

"Young man, are you sure you'd be able to pay for the things you're taking?".

"Yes, I'm sure". I responded.

"If you can pay for them, then why are you dressed like this? You look like a beggar. Your face is okay, but everything else about you right now is zero,

If you had money to pay for the things you'd pick up here, then you wouldn't be looking like this". She said.

..What does she mean by her statement? She was simply trying to say I wouldn't be able to pay for the things I was taking, but with style.

She was already underestimating me as well, she'd judged a book by its cover which was wrong. Well, I was going to prove them wrong.

"So, can you please kindly leave? It wouldn't be nice for you to keep wasting both your time and our time". She stated once again, she'd finally said what was in her heart.

She was chasing me out of the supermarket just like the worker. From the way she was dressed and the way the workers respected her when they saw her, I knew she held a high rank in this supermarket.

And she underestimated me as well. Now, it would be so nice doing the face slapping when she was here...

I was just so glad that she came, so I could embarrass both her and the worker.

"You guys shouldn't judge a book by its cover".

And after I made that statement, I dipped my right hand into the pocket where the money was in and brought it out. I was holding a good $3,700 in my hand right now.

I saw people's mouths open in awe with shock appearing on their faces as they couldn't believe what they were seeing right now. Did I just bring out a nice amount of cash from my pocket?

If I had this money, then why was I dressed up like this? Yes, that same thought began running through their minds.

..I noticed the woman's mouth open in awe along with the guy that was telling me to leave.

The other workers that had been watching the occurrence weren't left out. Shock appeared on their faces as they opened their mouths in awe...they were finding it hard to believe what they were seeing.

But they'd have to believe it 'cause it was real, I was holding the money in my hand, raw cash...

I was feeling that joy again, seeing those shocked expressions on their faces was making me so glad. I had just done a proper face slap right now, I had accomplished the quest.

The lady and the guy were so ashamed of themselves, I could see it on their faces. They were wishing they could turn time around and do things differently...but it wasn't possible.

..Many of the customers that had been staring at me continued what they were doing.

Even those that were murmuring and saying some things about me focused on the thing they were doing before, which was picking up things.

The workers watching from a distance all went back to what they were doing before, which was assisting some customers to pick up things from the supermarket and so on.

"So, have you guys seen that I have enough money to pay for what I'm taking?". I uttered glancing at the lady and the young man.

..If I was with thousands of dollars in cash, that means there was still more in my bank account.

This was something they'd come to discern, and it was true. Accomplishing the quest would add a lot more to my bank account. And according to the look of things, I had accomplished it.

"Yes, we've seen that". The lady retorted.

"Don't you guys think I deserve a proper apology?". I voiced out once again.

"We're sorry for the harassment and all that, please, forgive us". The lady stated.

She'd apologized, but I wasn't close to being satisfied 'cause the guy didn't. He was the one that harassed me more before the lady even arrived.

So I needed a proper apology from him to feel satisfied...

"What of you? Aren't you going to apologize? I need a proper apology from you". I said, glancing at the young man.

"I'm really sorry for the harassment, it happened due to your dressing, it wasn't my intention. Please, forgive me". He stated apologizing.

..And it was now I felt satisfied after hearing his apology.

"Apology accepted". I said.

I definitely can't get apologies from the customers 'cause they didn't approach me. The ones that said shit about me did it from where they were standing.

"So, can I resume picking up what I was picking?". I inquired of the both of them.

"Sure, sure, you're free to do so". The lady uttered before walking away with the guy in shame.
