7 Eugene V. Samuel's Past (Semi-Finals)
Roselia's attention was elsewhere, and she didn't notice the man's clothes in black.
Eugene could do nothing as he watched the man take out a jet-black knife and plunge it into Roselia's body.

A huge amount of blood splashed out of Roselia's wound and dyed her apron crimson.
She tried to cry out in pain, but no noise came out of her mouth.
With no air in her lungs, she couldn't make noise, much less cry for help.
The fully clothed and masked man had stabbed her lungs, making it impossible for her to say a thing.

The man rapidly stabbed her dozens of times, and Eugene could see his eyes narrowing into a smile.
Eugene watched in anger and frustration how the man slit opened her stomach and how her organs fell out of her guts.
At the same time, he watched Roselia's final moments.
She struggled against the man but failed to overwhelm him.
Her eyes that were losing their radiance showed reluctance, great sadness, and an equal level of disbelief.
She was puzzled by the man's actions and unable to understand why he was so ruthlessly killing her, and she was also sad about leaving her child only in this world.

Eugene watched in horror as he saw Rosalia becoming the target of a serial killer, who took her life by cruelly stabbing her in the face three times and guts 108 times.
The serial killer was so demonic that he cut off her breasts and carved the word "Whore" on her chest.
Only after stabbing her 111 times and disgracing her body did the serial killer leave.
Eugene stood next to her corpse in silence for fifteen minutes before her coworkers found her and called the cops.
He watched some people cover her body and take it away and sighed softly, "No wonder V. Samuel topped the chart of the most tragic character in the novel, the crumbling world. Even his childhood is more tragic than any shounen manga protagonist."
Eugene willed to appear close to a certain someone.
His figure blurred before shooting out like a ray of light that gradually vanished into thin air. When he became apparent, he was already beside V. Samuel.
That evening, V. Samuel felt saddened as Roselia didn't come to pick him up.
Instead of his mother, it was the guys from the police station, who he had helped a few times using his supernatural powers, that came to pick him up.
While in the car, they dropped a bomb on his head.
After they explained to him that his mother had died in an unfortunate accident, he brawled his eyes out.
V. Samuel was devastated by the news of his mother's death.
His sadness didn't last long.
After only three days, many new channels broadcasted the truth of his mother's death.
They didn't have good intentions behind it.
They just wanted to use his mother's death to gain some clout, not to inform the public that a serial killer was on the loose.
V. Samuel saw the news because it coincidentally played on the T.V that he had been sitting next to for a few days.
In this house that he was soon to lose, it was the only thing able to produce a voice.
After watching the news, he found out that the police officers were bullshitting about his mother's death.
In their defense, they just thought it not right to tell a 10-year-old boy that a serial killer had killed his mother before defiling her and chopping her up.
"I will avenge you, mother. I promise to catch the person who wronged you and make him beg for a swift death."
V. Samuel's face seemed to contort in negativity, and intense rage was boiling his blood.
Eugene didn't find his emotions too abnormal.
After all, If he were in his shoes, he would have also felt thoroughly angered by how his mother died.
Only three years after starting a new life with her child, she was killed by a serial killer that had escaped from jail.
What did she do to deserve such a bad ending?
The writer of the game, the crumbling world, has not revealed V. Samuel's sad childhood story to the players and only sheds light on some of the misfortune that he had suffered.
Even after playing the game for three years, Eugene had only found out through tidbits and side quests that V. Samuel had a disastrous childhood.

He didn't know how bad V. Samuel's father was and how tragically his mother had died.
But after seeing V. Samuel's past, Eugene became certain that the unjust death of his mother was the reason that he became a warrior of justice and started taking down bad guys left and right and became a champion of the human race in the latter days.
While seeing the boy vowing over and over again to lock up bad guys behind bars and making plans to do it, Eugene remembered the last few scenarios of the second installment, in which three significant things happened, the first being the fall of V. Samuel, followed by the bloodline awakening of the protagonist, who was boiling in anger at the death of his friend and teacher, and the death of the main villain of the second installment, Allen D. Light.
'These certainly are the events that V. Samuel experienced before he set out to destroy one bad guy after another, which led to him plotting the destruction of Allen, a major villain, and sending him to jail before the start of the novel, causing a significant enmity to form between them.
'As a result, after awakening and becoming super powerful, Allen killed V. Samuel, but his death angered and saddened the main protagonist so much that he underwent bloodline awakening again and became so powerful that he killed Allen with a hundred slaps.
'Hence, the author named the chapter death by a hundred slaps, and that single chapter sold a billion copies!'
