22 Slimy adventure 2
Our destination was uncertain. The map was a magnificent tool, but it was blank… Although I couldn’t deny that I enjoyed exploring.
“Master, where are we going?”
—First of all we should find a road. I toured this area for a while and was not able to see one… but if the world is at the age I think it is, the best idea will be to follow the river. Cities need large water supplies. If my intuition doesn't betray me we will find one sooner or later.
We walked towards the river where I fell. It was a long distance, so it would take a long time to get there. Also, before we would need to cross that forest full of disgusting bugs. Although those critters would no longer be a problem.
—Ok, full slime straight ahead, Limy. A long journey awaits us!
I more or less remembered the path, and adding the difference in speed between walking and crawling, we reached the forest much faster than I expected.

It did not take us long to approach the area near the river… where the earth began to move. A yellowish-green lizard came out of the ground.

Limy pulled me out just like I told her. Slowly I approached the lizard and stood in front of it. It also stood a foot in front of me and narrowed its eyes. We were both ready to fight with our lives on the line.

But our epic battle was interrupted. Without giving me time to respond, Limy threw a tentacle and entangled the stone eater...

The moment I turned back I saw Limy with the stone eater trying to escape her grasp. Then, she opened her mouth… an exaggeratedly enlarged mouth… and dropped it inside. Only its tail was left out… which ended up being swallowed like a spaghetti.
‘The one who wanted to eat me has been eaten… I finally understand why all animals turn away from slimes… They are terrifying!’

“Master, I don’t have the ability to distinguish the taste.”

‘Tonight I will have nightmares… Right, luckily I don’t sleep.’
Finally we reached the river and followed it as planned. During all the time we spent walking, no other enemy appeared. After seeing what happened with that lizard, there was no doubt that not a single animal or monster would dare to approach us.
The hours passed. We left the forest behind a long time ago and still did not see a single trace of civilization. I could not be sure how many kilometers we traveled, probably about thirty. The map showed our way all the way along the river. We started out traveling south but ended up veering slightly to the east.

And when I began to think that we would not find intelligent life in a long time, we finally found what seemed to be a road.
—Finally! If there are roads there are people. Limy, go over there!
Following it for a few minutes we finally met the first humans… Three rather bad-looking guys with nasty smiles on their faces directly approached Limy.

Limy’s strength didn’t seem to be enough to break the man’s arm, but enough to inflict a lot of pain.

The same idiot drew his sword and slashed at Limy’s arm, cleanly cutting it off.

The other two drew their weapons and attacked her at the same time. My heart gave another leap when I saw how the three swords stabbed into Limy’s chest and head… although they didn’t do anything to her either.
