Chapter 13: Visiting a Friend

I walked into the guild and took out the quest paper and the 7 goblin bodies. Kira was at the counter and she was surprised to see me with the quest finished so quickly. She signed the paper that I had and I officially completed my first quest.

The initial reward was silver for each body so that means I made 3 silver coins and 5 copper coins. I took the money and exited the building. I wanted to know go see Aliyah so I headed to the Medical building for the knights.

I got lost a few times but I made it there without other incident. I walked inside and told the desk clerk who I was here to see. The told me to follow them to the room that Aliyah was in. So I did.

(Aliyah POV)

Life has been pretty boring inside of this medical room. I mean, I can't look at Pearl for a while anymore! I miss her cute little self...

Also, I remembered that Pearl turned 5 years old when I met her first and that day was September 17th.

So I will have to get her a present next year for her birthday!

I heard a knock at the door and then someone opened the door. It was a medic and a small child. Wait, "Pearl? Is that you?" I asked.

The medic then walked out of the room and shut the door behind themself. The child took the hood that covered their face down and it revealed that it truly was my little friend Pearl.

My arm had healed almost completely so I was able to move it since they removed the cast to use basic healing magic to fix the rest of it a little more just a few hours ago.

"Hi! I'm back!" said Pearl. I noticed her robe and herself were covered in blood and dirt. "What the hell happened? You're covered in blood." Pearl then grabbed a chair and brought it over to my bedside.

She had a little trouble getting on the chair because she has such cute little legs and arms. She finally hoisted herself up onto the chair.

She then told me all about her first quest slaying goblins.

I was happy for her and also surprised she was able to do that kind of quest at her age.

I leaned in for a hug and within about 20 seconds of hugging, Pearl fell asleep in my arms. She must've been exhausted from the fighting against the goblins she killed.

So I did my best and moved her next to me in my bed so she'd be comfortable while sleeping.

She must've used a lot of mana while fighting so she is bound to be tired. You know what? I think I'll take a nap as well. I snuggled up to Pearl and kissed her forehead and then said, "Nighty night~."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Pearl POV)
I woke up next to Aliyah in her bed. I must've passed out from her body warmth and my mana exhaustion. She must have put me in her bed with her and she must've had fallen asleep as well because when I woke up, Aliyah was also asleep. So I got out of the bed, moved a chair over to the window and stared out of it and just thought over all that has happened to me in this world so far.
First, I died in that crash and I hope to God that my friends are okay.
Then after that, I got to meet Kai the God of Reincarnation and he reincarnated me. I wish I could ask him questions about some things now. Then I met Aliyah, Mark, Denise and Kira whilst in Rybim. I then realized something.
Maybe I can ask Kai some things through the system? 'Hey, Gem? Am I able to contact Kai through you?' I said to Gem in my mind. [No. It is simply impossible to communicate with Sir Kai through me.]
Well then. 'Is there any way at all to contact him?' I said again in my mind. [Yes, and no. You are able to contact him only through 2 ways that I currently am allowed to disclose. 1) pray at one of the altars of Kai; the God of Reincarnation and hope he hears your prayer. 2) try to contact him by {REDACTED}.] Huh? Is it just me or did Gem censor something? Hm. It most likely is only able to be heard if the gods allow it.
I doubt I'd be able to hear it anytime soon though. As of right now, I'm only one of the who knows how many reincarnated people that Kai has guided.
Well I should probably focus on what lies ahead of me in this world.
I've been thinking of this recently; moving out from Rybim. I want to go see the world while I'm still young but I also want to spend about another 4-5 months here to raise my rank as an adventurer and to have fun spending time with my few new friends.
I'm aiming for D or C rank by that time so I think doing a few quests a week will work! It might be too much for this body to keep up with but I can try?
It'll also take a hell of a lot of work. But I was in the army previously so I can handle it!
Some sword and knife training can also go into my regiment before I try and depart from here.
And some muscle training in between so I can go farther in my journey because if I'm physically weak, it might get me killed in battle. I can't only rely on skills or speed.
Oh, and I need to work on my magic. I learned the basic types of fire, water, and earth magic. As you know, I said I would learn wind magic later on.
I did try it but I simply didn't have the mana supply for it at the time. I tried it right before I checked my mana. And as you also know, I was almost out of mana.
It is fun using magic though! Like I can make a lot of different things with earth magic. Like if I use more mana to make a specific thing with it, I could make even a gun probably.
I doubt I have enough mana to make such a complex item with it though. I wonder...how many magic types are there?
'Hey, Gem? How many known types of magic are there?' I said to Gem in my mind.
[There are currently 8 known types of magic that humans have discovered. The types of magic known include: Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Holy, Hell, Healing, Summoning, and the rarest; Time.]
Time magic, huh? I then said to Gem, 'Could you tell me more about Holy, Hell, and Time magic, Gem?'
[Holy magic is mainly used in exorcisms and enchantment of items or abilities. For example; with Holy magic you could give your dagger a fire effect when you stab something. Hell magic is mainly used in alchemy and curses. And finally; Time magic is basically what you'd expect. You can rewind time or jump forward in time with it. Or course you can pause time but it would require a lot of mana.]
Ah, I see. It would obviously be very smart to learn Time magic later on. That way I can stop myself from dying if I were to take a hit that nearly killed me.
Holy magic isn't needed currently but enchanting my gear sounds badass! Like in that one game with the blocks that you can make your sword burn enemies when you hit them. I can't remember the name of it.
Hell magic is used in alchemy and if I can remember correctly, alchemy is for potion creation and other things.
So it's also valuable in its own way. I now have a lifetime goal to learn all of the known magic types and to discover new types entirely!
It is quite the tedious task that will definitely take years of determination. "...Huh?" Aliyah had woken up and saw me.
I was staring out of the window out into the night sky. I've decided to tell Aliyah my plans for the future. Not bringing up specific things, of course.
"Hey, Aliyah. I have something to tell you. I'm planning on leaving Rybim after winter is over. So in about 4 or 5 months at most."
After I said that, Aliyah smiled and then said, "I knew you wouldn't stay forever. So I will help you while you're here, okay? At least promise me you'll come back to Rybim one day in the far future?"
I then got off of the chair and moved over to Aliyah. I held her unbroken hand and then smiled and said, "Okay. I'll come back one day after I leave. You can count on it!" The sun then begun to slowly peek over the horizon. Aliyah brought me into her arms for a hug. I hugged her back.
After a few minutes I decided to go back to Aliyah's room in the Knight's building where they live. I grabbed my robe and put it on, bringing the hood over my head. I waved goodbye to Aliyah and headed out of the room. I then thanked the medic that had shown me where Aliyah was.
I then check on my mana supply as I walked out of the hospital.
[Mana: 86/190]
So it hadn't fully regenerated. Sleep helps it the same as time does. So I'm going to sleep when I get back to the room and regenerate more of my mana. Let's get going because I'm still tired physically and I want to sleep as soon as I can!
