57 Echoes of Souls

Adam opened his eyes, startled by the unexpected scenery he woke up to. Instead of being in Julius' room in the Riverwood manor, he found himself in the center of a cave. A large magic circle, composed of numerous runes and symbols, radiated below him.

Then, he saw Julius, bound by chains and unmoving in the middle of the circle. His face was lowered, filled with despair, sadness and guilt.

Adam focused all his attention and brain power on the situation. He scanned his surroundings suspiciously to know where they were before alerting the boy and potentially exposing him.

Except for the libraries, he only saw a bed and a desk on which a wrinkly, one-eyed and one-armed old man sat, facing them with a creepy smile.

Adam thought he was imagining things. It looked as though the man was looking at him. Shivering at the creepiness of that person, Adam gently poked Julius to draw his attention and murmured.
