Chapter 45: Emergency Response

"It's not simple to perform that kind of Magic but you are showing it like it's just so easy." Said David in a Stern voice.

We currently are in their house with my family, celebrating David and his brothers awakening.

"It really drains you mentally right? That's what I always feel. However, why do I feel like you can perform Ice Magic so easily? But when you use it in magic circle, you are having a hard time? Why is that?" I ask while feeding my support nephew.

"When using Ice Magic I don't need to concentrate, I could just perform it using my will. But it's different when I use my magic to imbued magic properties in a magic circle, that one requires not just mana control but ability to transcribe mana and magic. You even ask me to add an effect where humans who enter the place won't get affected by the cold which is surprisingly difficult to control."

He said while adding food to my nephew.

That isn't fair. Are all of those mages able to conjure magic by just using their will?

"If I do magic even the basic one, I need to manipulate mana and convert it to things that I want to conjure. Our abilities are clearly not the same."

"Hm.. Tito I'm full already. I wanna go to Daddy." My nephew said referring to David who was giving him too much food.

I put my nephew out of my embrace and he ran over to his father. My brother look at me and our eyes met, my evil smile suddenly manifested on my face which made him look away from me.

Tssk.. Boring..

"Is he the brother you talk about before?" David ask and I just nodded.

"He seems very uncomfortable being with you. Well even I would be the same if you always look at me with that kind of smile. Can't you just stop teasing your brother and move on?"

I turned around and look at him with my piercing gaze.

"Don't interfere with matters between the two of us. I like bullying my brother and I will continue to do so. Why don't you just do the same to your brother as well. Look at him having a sweet conversation over there with his girlfriend who he was clearly not interested in. Why is he keep looking at us? Does he know anything about us?"

David look at me like with complicated expression. It seems like he didn't know how to respond to what I just said.

"You are a very bad person, you need to be punished by me." He whispered.

"Don't just do that out of nowhere, it tickles you know? And why would I be scared with your simple punishment? Your baton is not that big to be a threatening matter."

"You dare say that after you beg me to be gentle, huh? huh?"

David then begun tickling me in my sides.

"Hahahaha stop stop hahahaha I can't. Ok ok I'm scared already, I'm very cared by your punishment. Hahahhahha Sorry."

I said while trying to push him away from me.

"Brother what are you doing to Archie? Can you stop that?" Suddenly Elly arrive while holding an Ice cream and handed it over to us after his brother got interrupted.

She then seated beside us.

I am still recovering from my laughter so I tried my best look somewhat presentable.

"Why is brother Charlie looking here with dismay? Oh, he walk out and left her girlfriend alone. Wait I'll interview her girlfriend bye bye." She said and then left us.

"I feel like my brother still likes you." David suddenly brought the topic up.

"Huh? Why would he? What happened between us is already in the past. Everything is his decision so I doubt that he still has lingering feelings towards me. And even if he does I already have you and I don't plan on entertaining someone from the past, I am a very loyal person after all."

He smiled upon hearing me.

"You really know your way in words. Even if it is to annoy someone or to make their hearts flutter, you mastered it both."

He said while poking my sides.

"Hey stop that." I said.

Suddenly we could see the Chairman panicked and run towards us. Everyone is looking at him with concern in their eyes.

"Archie, David where's Charlie? I received and emergency call just now. You need to reinforce a group of awakened in Barobo. The mayor there seems to organize a group of strong awakened to close the gate but it seems like they failed and there are awakened people who got trapped inside."

Both me and David immediately stood up.

Usually these kind of issues will be handled by the guilds and not the mayor but since awakened association is just new, there are no guilds yet to handle this matters.

"Yes Chairman. David I'll go there now, do you wanna join?" I asks.

"Yeah sure. This will be my first dungeon experience." He replied.

"Bring Charlie with you. Shittt.. where is that one? Why is he very unreliable at crucial times? Hmmm... we don't have time to look for him so let's just forget about him. Archie and David, can I trust you with this?" I nodded but suddenly David straighten his back and salutes.

"Sir yes sir." He replied.

"Good. You go now."

I look at my family especially my mother who was worried but I just smiled at her and give her my thumbs up. Hopefully it's enough to ease her worries.

"Wait, I'm awakened as well. Maybe I could help." My sister volunteer but I shake my head.

"We will be fine on our own don't worry. Just enjoy the party, we will return immediately. Bye bye." I said and teleported us away.

I have been in the Barobo City but we didn't close the gate that the Chairman is talking about since we prioritize the 1st batch of dungeon before and this one is not a first batch.

After I arrived I immediately locate the dungeon that they are talking about and reap the space there.

Both of us enter the other side without a word and saw someone familiar there along with a injured hunter.

"Long time no see Mr. Clark." I said and he look at me.

"Archie, long time no see." He said and immediately stood up to greet me happily.

It seems like fate brought us again and he is now an awakened slightly weaker than Charlie but I believe he is still in A rank category.

He was wearing sando which reveals how fit his body was.

"Are you here as a reinforcement?" He asks.

I seated to the injured hunter and heal his wounds.

"Yes we are here to help those who are inside. Congrats for being awakened. By the way why are you here?" I ask.

"Well it's all thanks to you. Actually this is my hometown so I returned here first to meet my family and tell them that I'll go over to manila to register as a hunter after I quit my job as a soldier." He said.

"That's great. Are you planning on joining a guild or just join the Hunter Association?"

"I plan to meet you first to ask for your plans. If possible I want to be your body guard."

When he said that suddenly David interjected between us.

"Ughm... Archie can you introduce me to your friend?" He asks while putting his arm on my shoulders.

"Ok, David this is Clark, a former soldier that works under your father, Clark this is David, the son of the former Lieutenant."

"Nice meeting you." David offers his hand showing Clark a clearly fake smile and Clark shakes hand with him but he is wearing is typical stern look.

It seems like tension is brewing between the two as they shake their hands.

"Clark, is the Mayor here requested your help that's why you are here?" I asks, stopping the two from glaring at each other.

"Yes, when I arrive here there are awakened who were badly injured and has been taken away by the paramedics. They said that I should wait here for reinforcement before attempting to enter the dungeon. While waiting this one manage to get out as well." He explained.

I already finish healing him and now he looks fine.

"Hello, you are safe now. I am Archie and we are here to help those that are trapped inside. Can you tell me what you encounter inside? And why is the dungeon here black? Is it black already before you enter it ?"

"Oh, Archie? Mindanao's Guardian? It's an honor to meet you." He said while trying to get up.

"No no no, I'm just a normal Hunter. Please tell us what you know inside."

"You are too humble. Anyways when we first enter the dungeon, it gate isn't color black. The other side of the dungeon feels like another world. We didn't encounter much enemy aside from three giant bears but after slaying those three, the ground shakes and the soil that we stepped on collapse. Our members fell into that hole and those who didn't fell, where chase by a group of bears. We tried to fight them but we couldn't win because of their number and there is one outstanding bear with them as well, that's why we're very injured and use all our remaining strength to exit the gate. Please help those who are trapped."

"I see, thank you for the information. We will help them so please wait here for our return." I said and stood up.

I then release a sword from my world of creation that I created earlier and handed it to David.

"Use this sword. I don't know if it will fit your fighting style since you are a soldier who is good at sniper. I'm still creating a perfect weapon for you so take that first. It has the ability to freeze and weaken the durability of everything it touches and amplify your Ice magic, hopefully it will be of help to you." I said.

"Wow, thank you for this item. I feel like it's on the same level as those item that to you give to your former allies. But when did you make it? We have been together the entire day and I didn't see you make this one."

"Of course you won't see me do it since I use magic to make it. It's an epic sword that is close to being a legendary so take care of that one."

I lied, they would believe that I use magic to make it but what magic exactly is unknown to them. I would not reveal to them my World of Creation skill unless...

I then look towards Clark.

"What is your primary weapon? No, what is your class rather?"

I ask Clark.

"I don't think I need a weapon. My class is I don't know. But I can transform myself into beast and can also go berserk."
