Greedy Marcus

Addilyn smiled and carefully placed the blank check in her pursea and made her way to her boyfriend's house. When she got to his apartment, she quickly retouched her makeup and was about to knock on his door when she heard a noise coming from inside.

"Jason....stop" a female voice said followed by giggles and laughter. Addilyn her ear on the door trying to eavesdrop on their conversation. The next thing she heard was moaning.She wanted to open the door but it was locked. She decided to peep through the window but the curtains were down so she could not see anything. She remembered that Jason always hid his spare key inside a fake sprinkler. She removed the key from the fake sprinkler and opened the door.

Calix came down from the car and went inside Marcus's mansion.

"Calix" Marcus said with a wide grin.

Calix stood opposite him with an expressionless face.

"Please sit...what would you like to drink?" Marcus said as he walked towards Calix.

"Just give me what I came here for and let's get it over with" Calix coldly replied as he took a seat.

"Always straight to business" Marcus said with a chuckle.

He signalled one of his workers who left and immediately returned with a folder. He gave the folder to Marcus.

"All the information you need about Sophie's killer is right here....but..."

"But you need something in return..." Calix interrupted.

"Just get on with it." Calix continued.

"S&T mall...I want it" Marcus said directly.

Calix was a bit surprised at his request. Not that he didn't expect his uncle to set his eyes on something big but the fact that he requested for the mall which the board had decided to demolish because of its low income generation.

In fact, it was his decision to demolish the mall and focus more attention on the culinary school that was set up five years ago by his grandmother, Amanda White. Since the mall is still part of the family business, Calix still has the power to make any decision regarding it.

So wether or not Calix decides to give the mall to Marcus, nothing changes. The mall will still be demolished. So if Marcus is requesting for the mall, it's either he doesn't care or he isn't aware of the decision that had been taken regarding that mall and knowing how greedy Marcus is, there's a hundred percent chance that he doesn't know that the mall will soon be demolished.

"Ok...fine" Calix agreed.

Marcus was shocked. He didn't expect Calix to agree so quickly. He thought he would have to get into a battle of words with his nephew.

"I suppose I have to sign something?" Calix asked.

"Ye..ye...yes" Marcus said as he brought out a document.

"Just sign this document and I will give you the folder" Marcus said as he gave Calix the document. Calix brought out his pen and started reading the document.
