133 A Strange Meeting

As the carriage stopped in front of the entrance of the royal palace, a long row of staff stood on both sides and bowed their heads.

The footemen came running and placed the stool in front of the carriage and opened the door.

A man in black and white uniform of butler, came forward and extended his hands.

But to his surprise the child did not hold his hands. A woman came out of the carriage instead.

He stared at the woman in confusion and then peeked into the carriage again but there was no one else.

A deep frown settled on his face. He knew that the woman was the new mother of the child. But your majesty had only invited the child. Even if she wanted to leech, she should at least bring the child.

The maids stared at her too with deep creases between their brows. 

Ana could hear their whispering and snickering gazes. Yet she held her head high. Holding her dress, she took slow and aloof steps towards the entrance.
