41 [Bonus chapter]

The man hesitated but he knew that he had no choice. He took the bag of gold and then walked back to the laughing man.

He stood up there when they were surprised that he came back so early but soon they smirked.

"What happened? Do you not even want to try anymore?" they laughed on his face with ridicule filled in their eyes.

"You're no fun! I thought we will enjoy your struggle a bit more." said another man as he shook his head with disappointment when Asher forwarded the bag of gold towards the man sitting on the office chair and making the final list of the things sold in auction tonight.

"What is this?" Although he already had an idea, he refused to believe it. Asher is from a fallen house with no one to support him. There was no way that he could collect 1000 gold coins in a few minutes.

"Didn't you tell me that if i bring the money before auction, you are going to return my shop to me?" he asked with a smirk as he walked closer and placed that bag on the table. "I have brought all the leftovers at once. Take these 5000 gold coins and give me the papers from my shop back." the eyes of the man cracked as he looked at the confident Asher who was begging on his feet just a few minutes ago. That was the only reason he had made such an absurd promise.

"Ha! Hahaaha! Do you think my words hold any value? Just because I said that I will return the papers to you, you are here to ask for them? I thought you knew the difference between a joke and reality, Asher." he shook his head and looked at the man with pity when Asher frowned.

He had never thought that they would go back on their words.

"You! You can not do that!" he fumed but the man just laughed coldly.

"Why can we not?" he smiled softly, "we can do anything. Now pick the money and try to look for another shop. Because you are never going to get this one." The man looked at the men standing on the door.

Taking the hint, four men came closer to hold Asher and threw him out of the office but Asher struggled. He had already sold half of his shop to save his dreams. Now after coming so far, he coild not let go.

"No! That is not fair. I am paying in advance with all the due interest. What right do you have to take my shop? I want to meet a barrister! A lawyer! I will not accept such treatment." he struggled but it only made the men laugh again.

"Ha! Then go and find one! Why are you wasting your time here?" scoffed the man as they dragged him out of the room. But a woman was waiting for them at the door.

She looked at the condition of Asher and sighed. She had thought she did not need to intervene. It would be trouble if someone recognize her and she was sure that her mother would already be looking for her,

"Who are you and why are you standing here?" asked the men with a frown as they tried to see her face but she made sure to hid it,

"I am his barrister. I am here to make sure that the deal goes smoothly." they frowned as they looked at their master sitting in the office whose eyes narrowed at the woman.

She walked in without caring about the men anymore and stared at the owner.

"Mr Jones, I have thought that you would stay firm on your words. But I am highly disappointed by your actions." she said in a soft voice, "but it doesn't matter since i have already read the contract." She took out papers from her bag, "it stated that if my client pays the amount before the shop is auctioned then you only have the right to extract the interest for the lapsed days but you can force him to give up on the shop.

And not only he is paying interest for a few days but for the next five years when he is already returning the rest of the money already.

It is already a profitable transaction. Don't press too hard or we do not mind you dragging to the court of the archduke. I have only discussed the matter with him before coming here." she smiled as she sat without waiting for him to ask.

His eyes narrowed and turned darker. Anyone could feel the dangerous aura around him but Ana was sitting there with ease.

"Give me the papers!" he forwarded his hands when she laughed and took them back "so that you can tear them? Do I look like a fool to you? I am sure you have your own copy available mister." her words left him stunned and his eyes flickered.

"Very well! He took out his copy from the drawer and read it. Though it was not needed, it was a common clause that is found in every contract but why did he never know there was a female lawyer in the empire and she even knew Garrison.

The man spelled trouble. He was already trying to find a reason to close their auction house. But how was it possible to get so much money and a qualified barrister and support of Garrison in such a short time!

"Why shall I trust your words, miss when I do not even know who you are?"

"You do not need to trust me but know the condition of the contract and as far as it is about your highness. Would you believe it after seeing this?" She took out the insignia of Garrison she was given last time when she had worked in the palace of the duchess.

The eyes of the man darkened completely when he laughed.

"Very well return the papers to Asher and clear his dues."
