Tell me what I need to do.

Twenty minutes later, Kúiwù laughed happily as he patted Wang Yong's head with affection. "Yong'er, these military vehicle models are truly extraordinary indeed! You are a rare genius!"

Wang Yong grinned happily hearing his godfather's compliments. "I am just happy that Godfather understands my efforts."

Kúiwù nodded and looked at his second godson. Though he was planning to let Kong Zhu take over his Dark Heart Organization one day and had always treated them equally, there was something about Wang Yong that tugged his tough heartstrings. He reminded him of himself, a man who was a survivor, someone who was not afraid to bleed to succeed.

He remembered when he first saw him at the age of 12. Wang Yong was going around pickpocketing people when he was sitting in a park. He observed the little boy who wasn't exactly a master of the art but he wasn't a novice either with his technique. He kept his target on mothers mostly, smartly avoiding the men in the area. He was surprised to see the boy go on for a whole two hours without stopping for even a minute to rest, reminding him of his hard past where he had to work without relenting even once to survive.

He saw the little boy's eyes wander to his partner he was waiting for all this while who had just arrived. His partner stopped to buy a popsicle in order to blend in with the merry atmosphere and was about to bring out his wallet when he realized it wasn't there. He quickly scanned the place with his acute eyes and caught the little creature running away like a little rat.

Mafia men were ruthless and vengeful, how could he let the culprit who robbed him go scot-free? Kúiwù watched him drag the boy into a dark alley, the boy struggling and kicking fiercely. Following them, he saw the man pull out a knife and say. "You little skunk, did you think you can steal from me and walk away just like that? Time to teach you an unforgettable lesson!

"Leave him alone, Nianzu. You should know not to touch things that belong to me." He said.

"He is yours?" His partner's fingers loosened but he still didn't let go of the boy he was holding.

"He was supposed to be on lookout for you when you arrive. Release him now and I will forget the fact that you made me wait for thirty stinking minutes!" Kúiwù growled.

The man released him, sending the frail boy to the floor. Looking down on him, he sneered. "I advise to rein in your little brat's kleptomaniac tendencies. If I was to deal with him according to the rules, he would have lost his slimly little tongue!"

Kúiwù wasn't eloquent and hated wasting words on people so he picked up the man and raised him up like a little child by grabbing his collar with his two bare hands. The fact that he had come here personally today shown that he had played by the rules, giving the man respect he deserved. But there were some lines that no one dared to cross with him. "You want to tell me how to discipline my own people?"

The man raised his hands in surrender and said. "Kúiwù, don't forget who I am. We have other important things to deal with."

"Then don't stop drifting from the important things. Stop wasting my f*cking time, Nianzu!" Kúiwù didn't care that that the man's face was covered with his saliva as he barked angrily, his temper flaring. From the corner of his eyes, he noticed that the boy didn't bolt like he had expected.

Good kid.

After dealing with the annoying man and ending the unpleasant conversation about business laced with malice, he was happy to see that the boy still hadn't disappeared. Not that he cared but the thought about a little boy's death didn't sit well with him.

"Hey, Shortstick. What is your name?" He looked at the impoverished boy and for the first time, he felt pity for someone.

The boy who looked so sickly he shouldn't even be in under the sun looked at him with such bright eyes and said. "My name is Wang, Gianto."

He arched his eyebrow at the boy who was the first one to insult him about his appearance since he became the leader of the most dangerous organization in Chongqing. He flicked his forehead and warned. "Don't come back here again. Stay away from shady people like him."

Wang Yong nodded earnestly and started walking away. "Then it's best that I avoid staying here with you, thanks for the advice."

Kúiwù halted the insolent child that was trying to bolt away from him. The little boy's wrist slipped right through his grasp, making him realize that he was much thinner than he thought so he quickly grabbed his ear instead.

Thinking about the little problem he had created, he decided. "Would you like to become a part of my crew?"

"Crew?"

"Yeah, I can give you food and help you with other stuff." He hardly played the role of the good guy for anyone but he hated seeing people starve.

"I don't need food from you or anyone else. My Grandma can cook for me if I want." The boy shook his head.

"Then why are you stealing?"

The boy became quiet for a while before he responded. "I heard that only money can make people powerful. Is it true?"

Kúiwù was taken aback for the second time for the day. "You want power?"

Seeing the boy nod, he couldn't help but smile. Interesting, he thought. Even his first godson that had just turned into a teenager lacked the ambition that this little one possessed. He bent down to scrutinize the little boy, looking at him in the eyes. "To gain power, money isn't the only thing you need. You will need to work hard for other things."

From then on, Kúiwù made up his mind to make Wang Yong his second and last godson when he heard the little boy say. "I am not afraid of anything. Tell me what I need to do."
