After taking a few steps on the ground, Khan stopped walking further and looked around, his eyes turning here and there. In front of him was a large space where giant crystals were present on the ground. 

Those crystals were shining brightly with different colors each, making the whole scene present next to Khan beautiful to see. 

Khan, with his expressionless face, moved his head around a little.

"The boss doesn't seem to be around here. Could it be that the boss is hiding somewhere for an ambush?"

I'm not sensing anything above me or around me except for the crystal's energy. 

tap… tap…

He begins to move forward, but at a slow pace. While moving, his gaze was on the bright crystals, which were getting dim and lit up. 

"I thought I could get some of these crystals to get money from that system."

[You know I can still hear you], the system popped up right beside his face. 

"Yes, I know, but I can also use these crystals to take their energy for my power boost. System, can I absorb them?" Khan said while glancing forward. 

[yes, the sword of yours can absorb the energy of the crystal for its ability to grow and might gain extra abilities to it.]

"It's not about that sword right now. I'm talking about myself; can I use these crystals for my level-up?"

Khan had now walked quite far from the point where he had started his walking; he stopped once more. at that moment, the ground shook violently.  

rumble… rumble… rumble…

"what's going on this time?!"

Khan looked at the shaking ground while he stood on the ground, still without having any problems. His expression was a bit concerned at the moment, but it was not mostly because of that but was due to thinking about the upcoming problem.

Suddenly, the ground next to him moved upwards, and stairs were forming on them. once the stairs had formed, the shaking ground stopped. 

Khan looked up at the end of the stairs, where a system screen popped up. There was a message written on it, but the words were quite small, and the distance between the window and Khan was quite large. because of which Khan was unable to read it.

a system screen? Why is there a system screen up there? I can see something written, but I can't read it from here. I have to go there first, and then I will know what is written there. 

tap…

Khan moved his right foot further and took a step as he did so. 

crash…

Something landed on the ground because it landed on the ground with a lot of force, a powerful wind was created due to the landing. Khan put his hand on his eyes in order to protect them. due to the dust that began to appear and flew along the wind. 

Once the wind had stopped, Khan moved his hand away from his eyes, and he looked ahead to see what had caused such a powerful problem. 

It's the second boss of this dungeon, and I was unable to see what it looked like since the speed at which it landed was incredibly fast. My guards were down for a moment because of that system screen.

I can't let this mistake of mine repeat again. 

In front of him was a cloud of dust, making him unable to find a monster hiding inside that dust. 

He clenched his sword tight; his eyes were focused on the spot where the monster had landed. He was ready to attack the monster as soon as he saw it.

rroooaaarrr…

It was the scream of the monster that came from the cloud of dust. That scream from the monster was enough to make the dust disappear. 

Khan had no reaction to it as he stared at the monster. He stood with calmness on his face. 

His scream did make me feel like my ears would bleed out blood for certain, if I heard that scream once more I might lose sense of hearing. 

Khan put his hand on the head and closed his eyes. His expression was unpleasant on his face; it wasn't surprising, nor was he anxious, but rather he felt a bit annoyed.

"You must be kidding with me right now," he said with an unsatisfied voice. 

In front of Khan was another dragon lizard, and he was staring at khan very angrily. His eyes were glowing, and his breath was filled with fire, ready to blast at Khan. 

removing his hand from the head, he opened his eyes as he glanced at the dragon lizard, although the dragon lizard was similar to the previous dragon lizard.

There seem to be a few things different about that only Khan felt. But to Khan...

sigh… "I might sound arrogant at the moment, thinking I can defeat this little fella, but I mustn't take you lightly."

Khan tooked a step back. He moved his sword back as he had made a pose, that of a man who was about to throw his sword at the monster. 

woosh…

The monster vanished from Khan's site in a mere second. Khan, who saw this, didn't change his expression: "I knew it," as if he had already predicted this. He changed his pose from throwing the sword to standing still, consciously trying to sense the monster's movement. 

the monster appeared behind him, and his mouth opened The fire inside was about to get out. khan reacted quickly at this as he turned around; the sword of his had black flames on its blade. 

he swung the sword at the monster, and even though the monster was still an inch away from the sword point, khan had missed the strike.

Ah. Khan smiled. 

the black flames in waves form appeared next to the dragon lizard, and the black flames covered the dragon lizard completely with the flames.

Roooaarrrr…

The monster rolled on the ground in pain, and his body was burning. quickly, his body was turning into ashes. 

Khan witnessed this with his cold stare at the disappearing monster.

"Everything about them is still predictable; I'm not surprised now. The world is no longer that surprising."

when he finished his sentence, the system popped up with a new message. 

[You have killed an A+-ranking monster.]

[since you have killed another high-ranking monster.] [You will be rewarded with something special.]

khan stared at the system, waiting for his reward to be given.

"don't give me anything useless, like before. If you do so, I will punch you for sure." 

his expression was felt like that of a person who was ready to kill someone with his seriousness.

it was the sound of a punch that was struck at the system screen pretty hard; indeed, khan was irritated by the system. 

"Stop playing with me and give me something useful."

His tone was cold; he was serious at the moment.

[you can't break the screen with that weak punch of yours.]

"Stop joking with me, you system!!" he yelled.

[alright, now time for realness.]

[Please walk-up stairs and read the message prepared for you.]

moving his gaze away to the other system screen present at the end of the stair. khan began to walk towards the stair, and in matter of seconds, he was already at the top. 

[that was quick!!]

upon reaching there, he looked at the message written on the system screen. 

[choose one of these colors.]

just beneath the message, there were three colors: black, white and red. 

he looked at the other system of his as he questioned. "Tell me what you know about this."

[you have to choose from these colors to obtain a new power.]

"So does this mean that I have to choose a color from these three and I will obtain some kind of powers?"

[Yes, that's right. You will obtain power depending on what color you choose.]

looking back at the other system screen, he said in his mind. 

Red and white are not important to me, since if I obtain a black one, maybe I will regain my black energy, which might be more beneficial for me.

press…

[It's unfortunate that your choice has been rejected; kindly choose any other color.]

Khan was filled with anger; he wanted to punch the system screen for playing around with him. he calmed himself and chose another color.

press… This time, it was white. He looked at the system with no hope since the color white was somehow related to holy blessings in the past. He hated holy blessings. 

yet he had to choose that color.

[It is unfortunate that your choice has been rejected. Please choose the red color.]

This time, he was not irritated but rather felt relief that the white color was rejected. 

press…

this time it was the red color. 

[Congratulations! You have obtained the power of red. The piece of the man of darkness, light, and redness will be given to you.]

a red magic circle appears beneath his feet, Khan looked at the circle with a bit of surprise; that was all he could do. 

From the circle, red flames emerged and began to circle around Khan. He looked at the flames with amazement; he could feel something powerful around him. maybe it was because of the flames. 

he silently watched everything around him happen. 

[time to upgrade the system]

[loading…]

The system screen began to turn red, and within 5 seconds, it had turned completely red with white text. 

[process is completed] 

[system set will be turned to something different than before]

one of the flames jumped at the sword blade, and the black flames which were already on the blade were turned to red. 

this is interesting… khan said.

the other red flame jumped at khan, and before coming very near khan, it shaped itself in to a cloak. and it wear itself on to khan.

khan felt a bit of satisfaction; he had a little smile as he glared at the cloak, which was made out of flames.

the circle with the red flames disappeared from the scene; the only things that remained were khan and the system. khan still had the red flames on the blade as well as the red flame cloak.

[red flames, replacing the black flames, can be used twice and will take 20 minutes to recharge before used again.]

after this, the system paused and didn't say anything further. Khan, for a bit, stared at the system screen.

"hey"

"what's wrong with this screen? Why did it suddenly stop?"

I can wait for a bit…

system didn't reply even after this. Khan extended his hand forward as he tried to check on the system. 

[congratulations]

"You prank screen; i thought something was wrong with you."

[No, I had something special prepared for you.]

Before Khan could ask the system about anything, he felt something was behind him. He turned around quickly, and in front of him, on the stairs, three red human-like things covered in red flames appeared from the stairs.

Khan clenched his sword handle tightly, ready to attack the red monsters.

"problem after problem, what a drag!"
