Home- The Daughters of Avergilo Family

Sthena Avergilo

I remembered drawing a female brawler character once upon a time.

She had nothing to do with GOS. She was just a random art featured on my Mutantart account.

I had always been interested in the gorgon sisters of greek mythology. It didn't help I was named Euryale, the second eldest of the sisters. When I drew her, I based her off a fictional sister I never had... but... how did that make it into the game?

I opened my eyes when the thought surfaced.

"How did she end up here with me?"

According to this person's memories. Sthena was one of the Thirteen Lords of South Korea. Most famous for her being an ambassador model for the foreign luxury lingerie brand, Tristian and for her short lived singing-rapping career but not due to her lack of talent but her busy schedule. A controversial public figure for her adult target audience, and cool personality with a wildly devoted fan base.

My relationship with her had always been a cycle of fear, respect and envy.

Growing up the two didn't always have their parents around for guidance, so Sthena often took the role of both her Father, Mother and Sister figure which = occasional bully.

"I'm sorry? Who's the one with the boobs here?"

Whenever I- Euryale questioned her decisions, Sthena would always respond with that and stuck out her chest, if I kept challenging her she'd tackle me with her boobs and make sure to stand over me with her chest puffed out making sure I could see the clear difference between the two of us. It was always super effective, because I'd be left physically speechless. Are those boobs or a freaking bumper of a truck?!

In a bed that was both familiar yet unfamiliar, I sat up. How jarring. This is seriously annoying.

So...this was my room? Would I ever get accustomed to this bizarre feeling?

Peach walls, pastel brown curtains, and mahogany furniture. There was a vanity decorated with a jewelry box and necklace rack. Pictures of me and a guy were fixed onto it.

I squinted.

I was beginning to think this version might not be too different from me when it happened again. The anemia and poor eyesight. It became even shittier on cold days. I still had it.

So I had to crawl out of my bed and blink about a dozen times just to see it.

He was cute. But his expressions seemed reluctant, and even forced.

He seemed familiar... wasn't this... one of the characters from mercenary mode? The rival character of mercenary mode's protagonist?

Little was known about him, other than that he was a leveling monster that players found annoying. The anxiety of always having to grind hard before entering any dungeon or arena had been instilled in the player because of him.

A perfect rival for the merc mode- ah, once again that's mercenary mode, a mode where you deliberately have to grind and speed run dungeons in order to collect money, material and resources, outdoing your rival leaves you with more loot and failing to outdo them leaves you with less. Basically people hate him because he takes all the loot and leaves nothing for the player so you basically have to race him in killing monsters.

True to his in-game behavior this body also has memories of him always disappearing for months.

He was first motivated by paying off his Dad's gambling debt to stop his sister from marrying a gang leader, Mr. Kang who was also one of the thirteen Lords and to whom he owed the money.

But even after paying off the debt, she got pregnant... to a different man? I don't quite remember. It's a huge mess and he's such an unfortunate character, it doesn't help that this body was one of his tormentors, she took a fancy to him and forced him to be her girlfriend. Since she was a sister of one of the thirteen Lords, he couldn't even get his revenge.

An almost happy ending. It'd be fine if it was genuine but she constantly forced him to do the silliest shit to torture him, he absolutely dreads having to interact with her and tends to hide.

How embarrassing!

"Seriously, what am I doing in this world?" I grumbled. I tilted my head. Perhaps due to her up bringing she thought being overbearing like her sister and always having her way over those weaker was perfectly normal? Omo! I got the chills! That must be it!

What the hell is with that?

My door opened.

"What else do you need for your memories to come back?"

Speak of the devil and she shall appear.

Sthena in nothing but an oversized tee that still seemed short with her rack, and designer girl boxers.

I shook my head.

"They already are. This place is a literal mind-field after all."

"That so?"

"I even remembered what a horrible sister you were and how I turned out twisted thanks to you."

Sthena hissed her teeth as she turned up her nose at me.

"Tccchhh. What the hell are you talking about? Who twisted who? Own your own shit!"

"Spare me the hypocrisy!"

Sthena's lip twitched.

"Well if you're bitching like this, I was worried for nothing. I'm going out. Keep your skinny ass home, I'll be back soon."

Sthena's "soon" was actually 3-8 hours or 3-5 days later. And if she didn't specify she would come back in a month, maybe if not half a year.

The life of adventurers were busy ones.

And I, Euryale although an adventurer myself, never visited dungeons unless accompanied by my sister's guild members.

So that day I spent my time wandering the house, I was beginning to get used to the memories returning but each time I would end up stopping whatever I'm doing as I remember and each time I'd forget what I was doing to begin with.

Such an annoying process.
