6 Chapter 6: The Hub Part 5

As Kel finished his suggestion, the staff began to twinkle brilliantly, and the creature's voice resonated through the area. "Brilliant! Finally, I have someone smart under me instead of this incredibly dumb, big-chested waste of space. You have my blessing to carry out your plan, my dear apostle." As quickly as the voice came, it ended, and Kel couldn't help but glance at Sylvia, who now had her head bowed, seemingly ashamed.

"Yeah, you should be," Kel agreed, for two reasons. Firstly, he was in no way going to disagree with the strange being's evaluation of Sylvia just to score some useless brownie points.

Secondly, it seemed that being around the strange being for so long had made Sylvia accustomed to being treated as a doormat. Although acting otherwise might make Sylvia more favorable towards him, he didn't need her favor. To keep her in line, he'd only need to balance the kindness he showed with the rudeness he could display. 'Man, it's like having siblings all over again.'

While Sylvia, feeling unsure, lowered her staff which began to glow ominously again, Kel took a step back and eyed the staff up and down before asking, "What's happening now?"

Sylvia quickly straightened up, not noticing that part of her staff was above her. She hit her head on one of the branching parts and held her head in pain, while still managing to speak. "The Mistress is changing the duties she had prepared in advance for her apostle, you, due to the idea you've given."

"One moment," Sylvia said, tapping her staff on the ground. The area around them darkened, and the familiar screens began to pop up in the air around Sylvia and Kel. This time, they showed images of reincarnated individuals and their details.

"What is this?" Kel asked as he approached one of the display profiles and read out its contents.

The first profile showed a picture of the reincarnated individual before they died, their real name, and various details about where they are now and what they are doing in the world.

The reincarnated individual's name was Michael; his manner of death was being mugged and stabbed in Colombia; his way of reincarnation involved encountering a random woman after death who offered him the opportunity to reincarnate in any world of his choosing with any two wishes.

World chosen: Dragon Ball Z.

Wishes chosen:

1. To start off as the only Saiyan instead of Goku.

2. To be incredibly handsome.

Current situation in world: Waiting to be found by Bulma.

Kel couldn't help it now. "This motherfucker had two wishes, and one of them was to be handsome?" Although Kel said this aloud, he did, to some extent, understand where Michael was coming from.

As someone who was fairly active on the internet during his teen years, he had long encountered debates about what certain people would do if they were reincarnated into another world and given wishes. If one sat down to think about it, they would, of course, reach smarter decisions, perhaps starting off with immense power and/or intellect from the beginning.

"From my standpoint, if Michael wanted to be the only Saiyan so badly, he should've wished for Goku's potential for growth or perhaps Goku's willpower because one thing fictional shows never truly displayed well was the pain one would experience on their journey for growth. What good are handsome looks in defeating Frieza?" Kel muttered before turning his attention to another profile hovering nearby.

The real name on this profile was Adam, his way of death was suffocation on the moon, and his way of reincarnation involved a random being who, right after his death, offered him the chance to reincarnate in another world with one wish.

World chosen: Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Wish chosen: To be reincarnated as Aang.

Current situation: Drifting in a frozen iceberg in the waters of the Southern Water Tribe.

"This doesn't seem so bad; hopefully, this Aang doesn't have talent for bending. I think I've found the perfect candidate."

"What happens next?" Kel asked, glancing around the many profiles intently before looking toward Slyvia.

"As soon as you're ready, we may begin. To not draw attention to yourself, the Mistress advises that you enter the world as a familiar character who could be seen much throughout the journey and who will have a great influence on it. Otherwise, there's no purpose in sending you there."

"Well she's not wrong, imagine waking up as the Avatar and expecting to find normal cast members, only to see a giga chad like me," Kel joked before asking, "In that case, what are my options?"
