"I fear I don't understand..."

A scowl displayed across Mia's face. "It sounds ridiculous to be honest. But no one can deny the truth. This is the fifth life together with you, Mia. All the past lives were tragic for both of us. Either you or I died eventually before we got a chance to stay by each other's side"

Lorcan's words sure sounded bizarre. Howbeit, Mia could not say these were hilarious joke. After all, she was in another body of the novel she read in past. What shocking twist could have occurred other than that? Quite a lot. Many surprising occasions could take place.

In this case, the explanation from the man could be real too. "Does that mean you have been my partner the whole time in the past?" Mia's face sparkled with delight. The idea of spending her life together with Henry did not sound that bad. In the end, she realized the feelings.

She found out whom she loved. She was not being disloyal. Her soul recognized Henry's soul so that she could not help but fell in love with Lorcan at last. Suddenly, things made sense for the young woman. "Yes, we have been together the whole time, Mia" Lorcan smiled.

"That's... Ugh..."

The young woman pressed finger on temples as a groan escaped between her lips all of the sudden. The scenes of her in past flashed. Capturing the man's attention. "What's wrong? Are you hurt? Shall I call the doctor?" Panic flashed in his gaze. "No. It is just shit..."

She clenched her jaw. On the other side, Lorcan held her arm. Making sure she did not fall. "I am fine" Scowling, Mia spat a lie. She was not in fact. Several scenes flashed with a migraine. "No, you are not" Lorcan gritted his teeth. "No-" At last, Mia lost consciousness at the spot.

"DOCTOR! NURSE!"

The story began.

Long ago, a young woman named Mia walked around in the city alone at night. Due to the care of strict parents, she wished for nothing but freedom. In order to find out what it felt like, she sneaked out at night on her own. But the world was cruel, showing the real world.

She encountered the group of men exchanging the money with weapons. This deserved the death sentence if she reported. Thinking she could save the upcoming war, Mia contacted the authority. Now, things became complicated. She was threatened and tortured.

The letters would follow her to haunt her nights. She could not bring herself to disclose to her parents either. One day, she walked up to the detective who was handling the case. She requested his protection although she knew this would lead to somewhere else later.

The detective, who had respect upon her for giving the important news, accepted the demand. The relationship was cold. They barely spoke. But Mia attempted to befriend him. She would eat together with him, follow him around and spend most of the time near him.

Still, the detective gave cold shoulder,

until the young woman's parents passed away. Having no guardians to rely on, Mia found herself lost in the cruel world. Howbeit, the cold detective could not observe the young woman being lifeless. He attempted to lift her mood. Now, they grew closer than before.

As the saying went 'the strings would be tangled once placed near', Mia fell in love with the detective eventually. They vowed to marry each other at last. Howbeit, the fate pulled a twist on them. In order to capture the leader of the group, the detective risked his life.

Leaving the young woman in the dark without any other choices. Although the case was closed with a win, Mia had to give her love of the life away. Who would be able to live on when she had absolutely no one by her side? The sorrow led her to make a poor decision.

Suicide. Yes. She committed suicide. But before departing the world, she wished to be a woman named Mia in every life to get recognized by her lover. She believed she would be his lover in next life too. Even if he did not recognize her, she would still make him recall her.

She started the journey of chase.

Pursuing her lover in every life with the memories from past life. Now, the time had arrived. After spending decades, Mia was recognized by him first. The vow had been accomplished. "Hah!" Gasping out loud, Mia's eyes widened in surprise. All the memories flew within.

She remembered everything now! The detective whom she cherished with her whole heart was the soul she had been looking for. It was Lorcan's soul! The young woman's eyes glanced around the room, only to meet the man laying his head on the bed beside her.

Mia's hand rose. Caressing the head of the man. He was asleep. A smile grew across the young woman's face. Her eyes filled with tears of delight. Words were not sufficient to describe the bliss. "Mhm... Mia!" Under the tender touch, Lorcan woke up from the sleep.

"Why are you crying?" A frown displayed across his face as he cupped her cheeks. "Do you know what dream I had?" Attempting to sit up, Mia threw a query back. Perplexing the man. He shook his head. "May I know what it is?" He asked. Helping her to sit up on the bed.

"It is about Mia"

The young woman voiced. Now, Lorcan fell into silence. The confusion tugged at his face. Though he had questions, he sat there still while observing her. "And her lover, detective" Once a grin appeared upon Mia's face, Lorcan's eyes widened. That's it. She remembered!

She recalled the memories! "Mia" Beneath a satisfied smile, Lorcan wrapped his arm around the young woman. Stunning her entirely so that her eyes widened. He was so quick with the reaction. "I am sorry for leaving you, love" A whisper came up from the man.

The guilt was found in his tone. "Don't bother to apologize. What matters the most is that we are finally together" Embracing Lorcan tightly, Mia retorted. The lovers shared a hug which lasted for ten minutes. The whole time, Lorcan was sobbing quietly out of exhilaration.

Mia did not complain at all. She stroked his back and soothed him. "Oh my god, what is going on here?" At the same time, Bailey entered the room, her mouth agape as Roman, on the other side, stared with widened eyes. "Oh!" Promptly, the two broke the embrace.

"G... Good evening"

Having a sheepish smile upon, Mia greeted the couple. "You better tell me everything I missed, Mia" A smirk curved up across Bailey's face. "What do you mean?" Till the end, Mia played dumb while Lorcan's face reddened from embarrassment. "You dare to act dumb?!"

Bailey raised her tone. She might sound disappointed but she was thrilled inside deep down. It was not like this was hard to guess. She already saw the future. Lorcan who could not take his eyes off her friend and Mia who cared about him more than others. Quite obvious.

"I will be back. Have a good day" Lowering his head, Lorcan straight up rushed out of the room. Causing Roman to chuckle. "They are really cute" A murmur escaped between his lips over the sight of the two. "Mia! Tell me your love story! I am really curious!" Bailey whined.

She, now, held onto the young woman's arm tightly to find out the story. "Roman, aren't you going to pull your girlfriend back?" Mia's eyes met with Roman's. She asked for help from him, yet he only shrugged. "You know well she is the dominant one in the relationship"

He confessed.

Making the young woman sighed as Bailey giggled. The days passed as the news of Mia and Lorcan's relationship spread across the entire villa. But as usual, Theo protested at all cost, saying no man deserved his daughter. Camilla did not say anything though.

She allowed Mia to do as wish. In the end, Theo and Camilla agreed to the marriage of the two thanked to Bailey's persuasion. "I think I am going to cry" In the dressing room, Bailey gasped for breath over the sight of Mia in a wedding dress. "What nonsense is that?"

The young woman frowned. "Imagine having to let go of your love of the life's hand!" Bailey's lips quivered as Mia let out a sigh. "You are being overdramatic, Miss Bailey Joy. We still get to meet each other every single day. Not like I can run away from you anyway"

Mia shrugged. "Right. I will talk to Roman about living in together with you" Out of the blue, Bailey's face sparkled. Causing Mia's face to twist in disbelief. "I am telling Roman to propose to you in next month. In that way, you will be busy with your own household"

The young woman hissed.

"He has already proposed though" The information from Bailey stunned her friend. "How come I have no clue?!" Mia raised her tone in surprise. Her best friend always used to inform every single thing in her life before. Yet, she missed this important news. How unfair.

"He literally did yesterday. I was planning to announce it after the wedding ceremony" Bailey replied. "You heartless woman! How could you not notify your dear friend first? Do you still consider me as your friend even?" Mia wiped the non-existent tear from cheek.

"My, my. Who is overdramatic now, I ponder?" Rolling eyes, Bailey linked her arm with the young woman's. "Let's go. Your dear husband must be shaking in anxiety already" Under a cackle, the two best friends headed out of the dressing room. The wedding was chaotic.

Theo did not allow Lorcan to kiss the bride on lips which made Mia only receive a kiss on cheek. Maki also attended the wedding; she cried the most at ceremony to be honest. The busy day soon came to end. Camilla gifted the mansion to newlyweds to stay in.

And so the two moved in that day.

"What would you like to have tomorrow morning?" Sitting on the table, Mia threw a query. "Can I have anything I crave?" Lorcan's steps approached. "Mhm... Anything" Not knowing where this was going to, Mia nodded. And arms wrapped around her chest from behind.

"You, my love. You will be my meal for tomorrow morning" A whisper from the man sent shivers down the young woman's spine. "W... What are you talking about?" Mia's cheeks, now, reddened. The flustered expression of hers somehow tickled the man's heart.

"You know well what I mean, Mia" A smile tugged at Lorcan's lips. "Ugh, please stop joking around. It is not good for my heart" Hiding her face in the palm, Mia groaned. She thought this man was cold-hearted who would not know how to tease! How come?!

"I am being serious" All of the sudden, Mia found herself being lifted in the arms of the man. Her eyes widened in realization. He was carrying her to the bed! "Wait, don't you think we are rushing things?" With hands grasping upon the man's shirt, the young woman queried.

However, Lorcan flashed a smile.

"My apologies, love. But I assure I won't be rough" His eyes formed into the shape of moon crescent. Hushing the young woman down. There was no strength to deny this man's charm. His beam really was captivating. Lorcan placed his wife onto the bed. "Rest assured"

Seeing the hint of anxiety, he gently planted his lips upon her forehead. Stroking her hair. It was when Mia let out a sigh. What could she do? The wedding night must continue. After all, she also was waiting for this day. "I hope you are a man of own words, Lorcan"

A murmur came up from Mia. Now that she had granted permission indirectly, the man's face gleamed in delight. He leaned in while holding her waist, kissing the young woman's lips softly. Her sweet lips fueled the lust in man. Causing him to slide his tongue inside her mouth.

Startling Mia wholly. It was the first kiss ever. She had no clue what to do in this situation either. All she could do was trust in her husband and follow his actions. Lorcan's hand slowly slid under the young woman's nightgown. From the suffocating kiss, they gasped for breath.

"Mhm... Ugh..."

A moan echoed out of the young woman when the man's hand gripped her thigh. His lips slowly traced down to leave a love bite on her neck. Causing Mia to moan. "Ugh... Lorcan..." She called out his name. Grasping his shoulders. She had no clue her voice was irresistible.

The man, now, could not play along to tease the young woman. The lust swallowed him wholly. He knelt on the bed, trapping Mia under him. "W... What shall I do next?" Mia asked. The moonlight shone upon her through huge glass window. Her eyes beamed.

The view of her lipstick getting ruined while quivering slightly, grasped the man's heart. "Grip the bedsheet firmly. I will show you how my love feels like" Lifting his shirt, Lorcan smirked. It was the moment Mia knew the night was going to be long and exhausting.
