6 Rylex Arrives

"Yawn…"

School was still boring.

Jack who sat down in his seat was wondering how many times he'd yawned today. He was really wishing for something unexpected to happen now to save him from this boring plight called "schooling".

It was already another new day after Jack met Rylex, and the day fell on a regularly cold September Tuesday. The signs of the approaching winter was growing more prominent.

He had just arrived in school, and was taking his second lesson for today- mathematics…

Their maths teacher, a hot female on casual wear droned on and on with a friendly smile on her face. Her eyes gleamed anytime she solved a complicated question before the class.

Most of the male and female students had already began to doze off with their heads rested on their desks.

Only some students were still eagerly listening to the long speech with earnest expressions on their faces.

Jack on the other hand just leaned back casually on his chair with both of his hands used to support the back of his head. He was busy pondering on this whole deal about gods and resurrection.

After a while he drew away his left hand from the back of his head and brought it to his face for inspection. His hand looked perfectly normal… How could these hands lift the dead?

Jack lowered his hand and straightens his spine with a frown on his face.

Anyone who saw his expression would think he might be pondering deeply on the maths question or some difficult problem without an answer… They weren't far from the truth though.

If there are gods… Are there monsters too? Can I have a system? Can it help me grow stronger and become the strongest? Stronger than the gods?

Jack was becoming excited.

Yes, he needed a system to turn his life around. There was no way he would be able to protect everyone around him with his current strength, he needed an upgrade! He needed to grow!

'Do you think this is fantasy? Where there would be a bored god who wants to hand out systems to trashy MCs like you?'

Suddenly reality gave him a tight slap on the face, one that woke him up from his dream. He sighed then shook his head softly, before returning his focus to the lesson.

"Well, is there anything you all can't understand?"

The teacher spoke out after scribbling something away on the electric glassboard with her futuristic marker, then, turning around to face the class with one of her brows raised.

All the males who were still awake and sitting in the front row shook their heads in unison.

They were like mindless drones without any shred of common reasoning. The others, -both male and female alike- like a chain reaction, also shook their heads.

Jack tried his hardest to hold back his laughter to avoid incurring the undying wrath of the entire class upon himself. Although he was rich and all, he wasn't stupid.

But, there was always someone who seeked death in a bunch.

"Pwahahaha! Look at you all, acting like robots! If I ask any of you a simple question, only God knows if you can answer it."

A short skinny fellow who had a pimple ridden face suddenly roared out in laughter from the back row as he mocked the class's male population with tears gathering at the corner of his eyes.

Jack only gave the guy a glance and made the trinity sign in his heart. He already knew the fate of that fool, it was simply him getting beat up by some of the males there and dropped in some dumpster.

Even Jack with his slightly above average fighting strength and gang of bodyguards dares not incur the wrath of some hot headed students as this was something that could easily be evaded with wisdom. But, not everyone thought in the same way as he did.

"Little James, just keep shooting your mouth. One day this daddy would find you and beat you up so bad, you'd wish you were hospitalised!" The largest male in the class, a ripped giant who was a few centimetres taller than Jack turned around and gave James a menacing grin.

At this, James chuckled dryly, cursed at his misfortune, and shrank back in his seat. He knew shooting his mouth more would only attract beatings… But, he couldn't help it!

He was speaking the truth! The rights of all humans deserve to be respected!

He was about to stand up for himself and speak his mind, when his gaze accidentally fell on the ripped biceps of his opposition then roamed up to the crazed "I'll Kill You" gleam in his eyes.

"Hehe, the weather is so cold today…" Jacob spoke as he remained sitting in his seat without moving.

Jack rolled his eyes at the poor dweeb, then, turned around to stare at the teacher. After a while, he lowered his gaze to his desk, took out a pen and a piece of paper and began doodling away.

The sound of the tip of an ink pen began dragged around on the surface of a piece of paper drew the attention of some nearby students. They didn't say anything upon seeing Jack though.

Our super geek, who sat Robert by the side gave Jack a sidelong glance before shaking his head and averting his gaze back to the teacher. He just couldn't understand Jack's thought process.

In the middle of a class, the guy brought out aged paper and an ink pen to draw… So strange.

Looking at tge busty teacher speaking before him, Robert shook off those thoughts as he now had stars glittering in his eyes. His mind was also wandering off to a place of sin and doom.

The teacher, upon seeing that no one raised any more questions, gave the students some work to handle before walking up to her desk and sitting down on the chair besides it.

"Scribble Scribble…"

"I still have a goddess in my mansion…" Jack muttered in shock as he digested yesterday's information, his left hand which was rested on the desk trembled.

This wasn't a dream… This wasn't a vision…

This was reality…

Suddenly a dark skinned man wearing a black suit walked into the classroom, and invited someone into the class. Jack didn't pay attention and continued scribbling away.

"It might be another new student, so what's the need of killing myself for them?"

His movements paused as he heard a familiar voice in his ears, that melodious and feminine voice made Jack pause what he was doing with a strange gleam in his eyes.

"Hello everyone, I'm Rylex. I'm a new student, and I just transferred here from the Western Confederate."

Jack lifted his gaze with a single eyebrow raised and nearly choked on his saliva when he saw the two newcomers.

He suddenly gave out two loud coughs before clearing his throat and glaring at the newcomer with his lip corners twitching.

Before him was an amply endowed silver haired beauty in red and black, her pupils were silver, each of them seemed to be emitting a soft glow.

"Students! This is your new classmate, Rylex Lynnette. She would now begin studying with you and I hope you all take good care of her." The dark skinned man spoke in a deep voice as he narrowed the two eagle like eyes on his stern face.

Seeing that everyone nodded in agreement with his words, he turned to Rylex and spoke in a deep, but calm voice,

"Miss Lynnette, you may take your seat now…"

Rylex smiled at the man. Her smile was so heart warming that the brows of the dark skinned man jumped upon receiving it.

That mesmerising smile that was enough to boil the cold heart of a ruthless executioner made the dark skinned man unable to think straight for a while.

Rylex retrieved her smile before turning towards the shocked Jack who was giving her a shocked glare.

She gave him another will wavering smile before bowing to the class, then, bowing to the dark skinned man and taking an elegant stride toward Jack.

When she arrived at Jack's seat and saw he was sitting alone, she smiled before dropping her bag besides the desk, then, sitting besides him. She totally ignored everyone else who were patting their empty seats in expectation of her approach.

Those who had already shifted their bags to the side and were hopefully waiting for her to approach them were astounded by how arrogantly she ignored them. They gave Jack envious gazes, but couldn't do anything.

"Didn't I tell you that money is everything? See that girl? She could tell Jack was loaded with money and instantly drifted towards him, ignoring all the cute and handsome jocks around."

"Damn, Jack is truly boyfriend material, but that boy doesn't like talking too much with newbies not to talk about associating with them… This Rylex girl is about going to meet a hard rock if she wants to get into Jack's inner circle of friends…"

"Tsk tsk, you two shut up and go get a life! Girls from whatever era, they're always ready to gossip to their heart content."

Jack sighed at the not so concealed voices he was hearing around him, then, turned to Rylex besides him with a strange expression on his face.

Gods were… completely unpredictable at times.

He had asked her this morning if she wanted to follow him to school as he would be able to arrange a new identity for her on Earth, but she ignored him blatantly. He thought she had no interest in school so he left her be, trying to avoid a catastrophe.

Little did he know that she had other ways to infiltrate a school.

Jack just wondered if she knew the dark skinned man, their vice principal, Mr Samuel. That stern middle aged man found it very difficult to make new friends.

"Anyway, better study the questions on the board… I don't let anyone copy off my works." Jack spoke before averting his gaze from Rylex and resuming his doodling. He didn't bother to see Rylex's expression as he understood, the question wouldn't be a problem.

Rylex only glanced at the board for a few seconds before rolling her eyes, opening her bag, bringing out a pen and a piece of paper, and scribbling away.

She was a goddess, of course she could handle a simple mathematics question…

Rylex paused, and scratched her head in embarrassment. Uh, what problem was she solving? Addition or Substration?

"You're supposed to be solving Algebraic Fractions…" Jack spoke out with a smirk on his face.

"…." Rylex was speechless.

Shiiit!!! Rylex felt like crying, but had no tears. Now, she really wished she paid attention in maths school years ago.
