I Promise I Won't Beat You Up!

It's been a few hours and the evening dinner had just begun.

Sitting besides Jack was a middle aged man who looked like a older and more mature version of Jack. He had silky silver hair and bright black eyes, alongside his chiselled and angular face.

He was Jack's father, Brian Thompson. He was wearing a silver suit that complements the colour of his hair, and his eyes were lowered, covering the calculative glint flashing in his eyes under his long lashes.

"Jack how was school today?"

Hearing the familiar voice, Jack lifted his head and looked over his father. A middle aged woman sat there with her head tilted over and rested on her palm, and her eyes looking straight at Felix.

She was a very beautiful woman, who had long silky hair, smooth jade skin, and a curvaceous figure. Her face was round and delicate, with her pinkish lips, slender brows, straight nose, and a pair of calculative eyes.

"School was fine mother, nothing unexpected happened today."

Jack smiled as he spoke in a soft voice, his eyes glowing in a calculative light just like his parents. He was busy reading his mother's gaze, trying to understand her reason for bringing up the question.

When he caught her pupils slowly shift to the side, his heart skipped a beat. She was looking at Rylex who sat besides him, just between him and his sister.

"Uh, Rylex how is that old man? Still into medicine?" Thompson suddenly spoke out in a deep and soft voice that reverberated throughout the room. The moment he spoke, everything around him seemed to quietened down.

Upon hearing this question, Rylex simply smirked before speaking in a soft voice,

"Grandfather Jahron is okay, he just had some unfinished business off planet that he had to settle."

Rylex spoke without lifting her lowered head. She just sat in place, stabbing into her meal with her fork. Her eyes drifted from side to side every now and then.

"Jahron Lynette? Founder of Light Hall Pharmaceuticals?"

Kayla who sat with her parents across Jack and his parents, gave Rylex a look and spoke in a deeply shocked voice. She was simply stunned as she was aware of Jahron's power and influence all over the Five Confederates.

Jahron was the 3rd Richest Medicine Mogul of the Planet Star Haven! His influence and power was no lesser than that of Jack and his parents. After all, medicine was a common necessity in the daily lives of everyone on Earth.

"Jack, you didn't tell me you knew someone so… influential as a friend." Jack mother spoke in a soft and silvery voice, her eyes narrowed down to slits. She was dead serious on this.

"Do I need to tell you everything? I just met her earlier, and besides I did introduce her to you did I not?" Jack declared with a flushed face, wanting to cry but had no tears. He lowered his head and ate his food quickly.

"Hey Hey Hey! Are they chasing you? Calm down and eat your food slowly… you wolf."

A silvery bell like laughter resounded throughout the room. It came from a young girl sitting besides Rylex. She had the same facial features as Jack's mother and just a few centimetres shorter than him.

Her name was Fay, Jack's younger sister. She was just a year younger than Jack, but was also into the family's weapons business.

"Ahem!" Jack cleared his throat, picked up a napkin and wiped his mouth lightly before straightening his spine and standing up from his seat. He gave his father a smile and spoke out in a soft voice, "Excuse me, Father."

"Do whatever you want son." Thompson said without lifting his head, focusing his gaze on his meal. He didn't bother asking where Jack was going as he understood that Jack could handle himself.

"Thank you, Father…" Jack bowed to his father's back before walking away with his hands in his pockets. When he got to the door, he gave Rylex a look before pulling it open, stepping outside, and closing it behind him.

"May I be excused?"

Rylex, Kayla, and Fay got up from their seats, and out spoke out in unison.

"This…" Thompson finally raised his head, he then gave the trio a raised brow before permitting them to leave, "You all may go…"

The three girls gave awkward glances to one another before bowing down to Thompson, muttering their awkward "Thank you sir"s, and dashing off like frightened little rabbits.

"These kids…" James, Kayla's father said as he shook his head slightly before resuming his meal with a smile on his face.

After taking his leave, Jack practically ran down the stairs as if he was being chased by a feral wolf!

When he got to his room, Jack undressed and tossed away his black suit to who knows where it'll land. After taking off his suit, he gave a stretch before going into the bathroom to take a bath.

After he was done with his bath, Jack walked out in his new pair of boxer shorts and singlet. After drying himself, Jack rested for a while before turning to gaze at his wardrobe.

He proceeded to change completely into a new black hoodie, only this one not as baggy as the one he wore to school. He also wore a pair of jean trousers and a pair of black boots.

While he was about to leave, Jack spotted something on the ground that made his brows jump. It was the bag he took to school, he didn't know why he had the sudden urge to look at his bag.

He stared at it for a while, but after noticing nothing out if the ordinary he simply shrugged before walking to his door.

He opened the door, stepped outside and shut it tightly behind him. After shutting the door he approached the elevator.

'Time to have some fun…' Jack thought to himself as he arrived directly before the elevator.

––

Few minutes later, the elevator Jack hopped on to finally arrived at it's final destination, the bottom floor.

After reaching the bottom floor, the doors of the elevator slowly opened following a mechanic "Thring" sound. After waiting for the gap between the elevator doors to widen for a while, Jack rushed out through the gap and left the elevator.

As soon as he stepped out of the elevator, he lifted his hand to stare at the time in curiousity. Surprisingly, it was already a few minutes past "Seven".

At that moment, the phone in his back pocket began to ring loudly. Since Jack didn't fix a particular ringing tune of his phone, he was left to 'enjoy' the beautiful "ring ring" sound emanating from the phone.

Lowering his arm with a raised brow, he sighed before digging his hand into his back pockets and drawing out his phone. After tapping twice on the screen, the avatar of a cute silver haired cartoon character popped up before him.

'This stubborn little crook must be calling for the race right? I bet she must have already reached there by now…' Jack thought in his heart. He didn't know whether to laugh or cry at this.

If it was on a regular occasion, his sister would have taken hours dressing up! When it comes to racing against him, she was surprisingly very quick and decisive!

Jack tapped the answer button, a big and round green button on his phone's caller interface. After doing this, he simply shifted his phone far away from his ear.

"Jack~!" Fay's high pitched, but silvery voice was heard from the other end. She sounded extremely excited and jovial.

"What is it?" Jack spoke out with a forced smile on his face. He felt like banging his head on a brick wall whenever his sister skillful swindles him off his belongings.

Argh! This little crook! Promising a death race for a meagre distraction during dinner? Author! This isn't beneficial to the plot, why do I have to go through this?

"I called Robert, and he gave me not just what he stole from our mansion, but extremely good news!" Fay spoke from the other end in an even more crisp and jovial voice.

"G-Good news?" Jack suddenly felt his legs go weak and tears nearly welling up in his eyes. His mind was in a turmoil thinking about what that good for nothing gaming geek had told his sister.

His sister was completely different, and unlike many people around her. She and Jack had a common trait that made them different from others.

The siblings really liked extreme racing! Ever since they were young, Fay always drags her brother to race after race each of the having one thing in common.

Pain! Lots and lots of pain and suffering! Since she couldn't take it too far and join an Extreme Death Racing competition in the Undergrounds, she simply settled for less violent death racing.

Now, imagine someone like Fay who enjoyed Extreme Death Racing getting to know about the new Neo-VR technology that allowed one to toggle on/off the pain reception technology…

"Yes, really good news! Come outside to the garden and I'll break it to you! Byee~!" Fay's silvery voice rang out in Jack's ears, the liveliness in her tone of speaking seemed to have shot up drastically!

Jack wanted to say something, but he suddenly heard a sharp beep followed by a robotic feminine voice that left him speechless,

"Call Ended…"

Good news… Good news… Good news…

'Robert, you b*stard! If you had disclosed the existence of the new Neo-VR devices to Fay without my permission… I'll end you!'

Jack simply imagined himself riding in a huge monster truck with his eyes torching, and his truck riding fiercely across a sea of flames and spikes. He also imagined missiles fired at him from dangerous directions, and other cars ramming into him.

Shiiiit! Robert just let me see you one more time, I swear I won't beat you up!
