Everything Seems Off!

Jack frowned as he continued his drive, his gaze was locked on the vehicle ahead and his body was a little bit too tense. He stepped on accelerate, spinning his wheel to side as he drove into a lane of loose sand.

Slowly increasing his speed, he began to close up on to his target. His gaze sharpened upon noticing the design of his opponent's vehicle.

The vehicle, which was driven by an unknown player @Burning Glaciers, was the definition of "Beast". It's height, towering over 2 metres due to it's monstrous build, was armoured with layers upon layers of sturdy looking metal ridden with short, but sharp spikes.

It's spiked tires, which were as tall as a full grown man, was practically tearing through the dirt with little to practically zero effort. It's terrifying build made the car run at extremely slow speeds.

Jack frowned deeply, he didn't even try to overtake or even think about overtaking without a good plan. He wasn't a genius, but he wasn't stupid either, and even a fool would know that driving past that thing was not something one should do carelessly.

"It seems to be a vehicle that wasn't meant for speed and attack, but power and defense." Jack's voice was as cold as ice, being under the surveillance range of the enemy means that he was already detected. It was very dangerous now as the vehicle of this racer was a counter to his own which mainly focused on attack and speed.

"Firing at it with such a tough defensive exterior would be fruitless, getting too close to it would be dangerous and it wouldn't be easy try to speed past the vehicle."

Jack glanced at the list of modules he was able to use in this situation, and he frowned deeply. Even if he drove past the car with his "Searing Steel" skill, it was a plan that had a high chance of failure.

With the spiked tires, there was a high chance the ice would be completely torn through without effort. Jack sighed, he had to think of something fast before the target begins to make a move - not forgetting those who were behind him.

"Sigh… What a very difficult situation…"

——

At night, the gates to Jack's mansion was completely quiet - seemingly devoid of life. A few guards in black would walk past once in a while, but disappear into the shadows once more.

"So this is where he lives in? That bastard is still hot on my trail, I can hide here under that goddess until I've gained enough energy to breakthrough again…"

Practically clinging onto the side of a wall with her bare hands, the short young girl stared at the gates with a serious expression on her face. Her slender brows narrowed after a while of deep thoughts.

"Hiding under her canopy to gain strength seems to be the only way in this situation. At least I'm assured I'm safe from that idiot." The female voiced out as she let go of the wall. Her eyes narrows as her weight was dragged down to the earth under gravity.

After successfully landing on both feet, she let out a soft sigh before stepping out from the shadows into the moonlight, revealing her cloaked features in an instant!

Her skin was completely silver, glistening under the moonlight she basked in. Her hair, jet-black in colour, was long and silky, reaching down to her waist. She had a pair of ethereal blue eyes, each glowing in a dim light as she looked around careful.

"Hmph! These mere mortals think they can guard against me, bypassing they're security should be as easy as breathing to me."

Her voice when she spoke showed her displeasure in the light of this situation, and she wasn't hiding it in the slightest - she was rather, open with her emotions.

After praising herself for a while, she shook her head and began walking casually towards the mansion. She didn't even glance at the guards, simply walking past them and through inanimate obstructions like a ghost without a mortal body.

The guards on ground didn't even notice anything despite her boldly walking past them. They didn't even feel anything wrong with their environment.

It was only after the female successfully walked past the gates, that the guards began to react. A cold wind blew over them as they froze, they're sense tingling.

"Hock, something feels off. Go do a quick security run and double check on the surveillance systems to see if anything's wrong." A tall burly man wearing thick sunglasses spoke in a cold voice as he looked around himself.

Nodding his head reluctantly, the other walked away without saying a word to his superior. His footsteps were quick and steady as he walked away with his head bowed and gaze rested on the earth.

"Everyone get back to work, make sure you don't let anything slip in by accident do you hear me?" The tall male gave orders to his subordinates before walking away with the unsettling feeling still present.

"Although I know nothing seems to be wrong with the security of the mansion, I wonder why I can't shake off this unsettling feeling in my heart." He glanced at the shut gates of the mansion, and decided to check in on his superiors - he felt something wrong, and it was the right thing for him to be near them in this situation.

He took heavy steps towards the mansion, his gaze cold as he calmed the storm within his heart. He seemed to have a heavy force bearing down upon him, but managed to hold himself up as he approached the gates without slowing down his movements.

Just as he took a step too close to the gate, his mind suddenly went and he forgot what he was about to do completely. He looked around himself in confusion as he recovered from the momentary blankness.

What was he doing so close to the gate? Was he just about to walk into the gate like a puppeteered moron?

Everything, everything seems off!
