"Now, let's begin your first magic lesson in Advanced Magic Academy."

Marcus-sensei announced, leading the students to the training ground for their practical class after lunch at the school cafeteria. The students were excited to showcase their magical prowess and compete with their classmates, especially Arthur who wished to only compete with Shin.

In practical class, students learn to use magic in various situations more effectively and flexibly. Although many students excel in theory, they often struggle with practical applications. Graduates from the academy become soldiers, enchanters, bodyguards for high-class nobles, or choose an independent path as adventurers, where practicality is more important than theory. Therefore, students focus more on the use of magic rather than memorizing different types.

Most students take the path of the attribute they excel at and strive for perfection in that path, although there are exceptions like Shin and Arthur who are exceptional in almost everything. Violet, on the other hand, is more skilled in physical combat and less proficient in magic. She learned sword fighting, breathing skills, and reinforcement magic from Arthur to enhance her performance.

"Although I said that, the first lesson is predetermined. Everyone has to show the magic they used during the entrance examination. So, Rittenheim, we will start with you."

Marcus-sensei walked away from the target and gestured for Rittenheim to show his magic.

Julius Von Rittenheim was a student who was more like a knight than a magician. His physique was well-built and muscular, and he seemed more inclined towards being a knight. However, because of his duty as the prince's retainer, he attended the academy with his fellow retainers. With his usual fiery declaration, he took off his shirt and enveloped his whole body with magic.

"Here I go!"

He rushed towards the target and punched it with all his strength, blowing the wooden target into bits.

"What do you say about it?"

He turned and looked at the teacher and other students.

August laughed holding Shin, who was wondering whether he was in a magic academy or not. The other girls were puzzled, unsure if Rittenheim was truly a magician. Magicians typically used support spells and avoided close combat, attacking from a distance to keep themselves out of harm's way.

"He is wasting his magic power, isn't he?"

Violet looked at Rittenheim and said to Arthur, who nodded in agreement.

"By precisely controlling his magic power, his strength could increase several times since his body is well-trained, which is perfect for enhancement magic."

"Very good. Next."

Marcus-sensei nodded after seeing Rittenheim's performance and called for the next student in line.

Thor, the other retainer, followed Rittenheim but didn't perform as spectacularly. Although he cast spells like a standard mage, he was better than the students Arthur had met so far. One by one, all the other students showed their magic, and they all showed great potential.

"No wonder they are in the S class," Arthur thought to himself.

Finally, it was Violet's turn. She walked up to the target and pointed towards it. Mana started to gather in front of her finger, crackling like yellow thunder in the training ground.

<Thunder Magic - Thundergun!>

The ball of thunder blasted off from her hand and hit the target with a loud boom, destroying it and the wall behind it into bits.

"Wow!"

"Violet-san, you are amazing!"

"That thunder magic was more powerful than mine! I need to practice more!"

The girls surrounded her, showering her with questions. Even Shin was surprised by Violet's use of thunder magic. If he had to describe her magic, the best would be mana-efficient magic.

"What happened, Shin? Don't tell me you are attracted to Violet?"

August looked at Shin who just started Violet with some seriousness in his eyes.

"No-no-no! It's just that I am a bit surprised after looking at Violet's magic."

"Her magic? Hmm…"

August just looked at Violet after Shin's praise towards her.

'Her magic is even better than some magic soldiers.'

Being a crown prince, he has seen many magicians working for the army, and he has to admit that he hasn't seen any one using thunder magic as good as Violet.

Cecily looked at Shin and determined herself to practice more to make him look at her.

Violet finally returned to her place, beside Arthur and sighed, being tired from asked too many questions at one time.

Arthur couldn't help but ask about Violet's wellbeing.

"Yes. I am alright. By the way, Arthur-sama, I think it is going to be your turn next."

As soon she said, Marcus-sensei called for Arthur.

"Good. Next, Arthur Pendragon."

Arthur just nodded and stepped forward towards the firing position. All the students became silent, and all of their attention was towards him.

All of them looked very excited to see Arthur's magic. And it's quite obvious.

The previous magic performance of Violet shocked all of them. And the fact that Violet is Arthur's follower is not a secret.

The only thing in their minds right now was…

If Violet can do that, how much can Arthur do?

All of them were very excited, especially Shin, since he couldn't wait to see Arthur's magic.

Originally, Shin joined the academy to find peers of his same age, make friends, and learn different magic. But soon he came to realize that he seemed to have a bit too much expectations.

He realized that his level is quite higher than his classmates.

But…

Today, Violet's magic gave him a great shock. The precise control she showed him was on par with him.

The only defect is Violet's lower mana pool which is far smaller than his own.

But it is not the same for Arthur. Shin was sure that Arthur probably has the same or even a bigger mana pool than him.

He wasn't feeling jealous or envious. But for some reason he was glad.

Glad that someone is on par with him.
