6 Poor Luffy

Today, as with every other day, Makino started getting ready early in the morning, preparing food and Luffy's favorite orange juice before departing for the small port in Foosha village.

Some of the villagers that Makino encounters will begin to ask about Luffy's well-being, and not infrequently, some of them will also leave fruit snacks and pray for Luffy's fast recovery.

Makino was so moved by the attention villagers in Foosha paid to Luffy that she couldn't stop thanking them. She didn't even realize that she starting to tear up.

-

Several small fishing boats are already anchored in the small port of Foosha village. However, there is one ship that looks different and very striking. That ship is Vice Admiral Garp's Marine warship.

"Actually I want to keep Luffy away from his grandfather, but because there are no doctors in the village who are experts, Luffy has to be treated by a Marine ship doctor."

"But I have no choice, because the most important thing now is Luffy's recovery," after saying that, Makino started to walk up on the warship.

As if they were all accustomed to Makino's presence on the ship, some of the Marines who were in charge of guarding the ship did not appear to be bothered by her presence and instead assisted in escorting Makino to Luffy's room.

After expressing her gratitude, Makino waited for the Marines to leave before knocking on Luffy's door. Makino could only sigh with disappointment when she didn't hear a response from inside.

"..."

"Today's also no answer, huh."

As soon as Makino opened the door and stepped inside, the first thing she noticed was Luffy, who seemed to be pondering something as he sat quietly on the edge of the bed with his head lowered.

When Makino saw Luffy in his current condition, her first thought was, 'Today he also looks gloomy as usual,' and her expression began to change to one of pity as a result.

"How are you today, Luffy? Look, your face isn't pale anymore."

Makino greeted Luffy and attempted to strike up a conversation with him. Even though she was aware that Luffy would remain silent as he always does, Makino clung to the hope that Luffy would answer this time.

Makino then placed her carry-on basket on the table beside the bed, and while she was busy preparing breakfast and medicine, she was suddenly startled by a weak and low voice:

"I'm fine. Thank you for always taking care of me."

'Isn't there only me and Luffy in this room? that means that sound...' Makino thought to herself, and with hesitation, she tried to look at Luffy.

Makino was astounded when she saw Luffy, who had never shown any emotion or expression, now smiling gently at her. Not only that, but finally, Luffy also opened his mouth to speak, which further shocked Makino.

"Can you speak?" The question was posed by Makino with teary eyes as if she were on the verge of crying, but she managed to keep it in check.

Luffy answered slowly, "Yes, I can talk now, but not much," but in the meantime, Makino, who couldn't stand it any longer, started crying and hugged Luffy's small body tightly.

"Thank goodness... *crying... I was really worried, you know..."

Luffy was at a loss for what to do in response to Makino, who was now sobbing like a baby, but he continued to let Makino hug him for a little while longer.

After feeling satisfied, Makino then immediately fed Luffy breakfast with more enthusiasm than usual, and occasionally Makino would tell him about what had happened over the past few days.

However, Makino was taken aback by what Luffy said after that, and even her hand, which had been about to feed him, stopped moving.

"You always mention Luffy earlier. Who is that person? Is it me?"

"what are you saying? Of course, it's you."

"Sorry, I don't remember anything..." Luffy said with a gloomy expression, but Makino, who could tell that Luffy wasn't joking, started to panic.

"What!... don't tell me... you lost your memory?"

Luffy just stood there, looking perplexed at Makino, and asked, "Have I really lost my memory? What happened to me?"

Even though Makino initially never mentioned what happened to Luffy regarding the incident he fell from the cliff, it seems like Makino has no other choice but to tell him now, hoping that Luffy can restore his memory.

-

"Ehh, I almost died!... No wonder my body hurt so much when I first woke up," shouted Luffy in disbelief after listening to Makino's story.

In the meantime, Makino can only look at Luffy with a wry smile and feel even more sorry for him. Makino is also a little anxious about how Luffy's grandfather and the people in Foosha village will react when they learn that Luffy has lost his memory.

"So your name is Makino, sorry I really can't remember anything."

"Don't worry, I'm sure once you recover, your memory will come back too."

Makino gave a slight sigh of disappointment as she shook her head, but she continued to feed Luffy as usual until he was finished eating and tried her best to forget about the trouble for the time being.

After finishing giving medicine, washing Luffy's body and changing into new clothes, Makino intends to leave, and she doesn't forget to glance at Luffy one last time before closing the door.

"Poor Luffy."
