13 Something is Wrong

The kids caused a huge commotion, and finally, the guards came and took them under their custody for interrogation. Dave wondered if what they said was true or not, other people in the town were worried as well.

" Emily, I will drop you at your home." Jin offered.

" Thank you, Jin, it's really scary. Do you think the bandits are coming for real?" She asked in a worried tone.

" Mr. Jin!" Dave heard Conan's voice, he was standing with Roy and Max at a distance and waved his hands.

" They are your friends, right?" Emily asked.

" Yes, they are," Dave answered, and then they went towards them.

" Conan, did you hear about the news?" Jin asked when he got close to them.

" Yes, we heard, let us take you to safety, although I think something is very suspicious here," Conan spoke.

" They were the same noble kids that we encountered in the capital, right? They could have been lying about it to cause another fuss." Roy added.

" Those kids were scared, and I noticed that there were only four knights with them," Dave spoke up. " If not bandits then it must be something else."

" Whatever, let's go to a safe place." Conan spoke and added," We can not take any risk."

" Let's first drop Emily at her home," Jin spoke and the other three agreed with it. They didn't have thier weapon but Conan summoned a pair of axes, just in case they would need them.

Emily guided them toward the place where her house was. They could see that the news of bandits was spreading like wildfire, everyone was running to thier homes. She informed Jin that her home was just nearby the inn in which they are living.

" Max, you have the danger sense skill, keep it active!" Dave suggested.

" I already have activated the skill. Don't worry Mr. Jin we will protect you and miss Emily." Max spoke, Jin didn't sense that Max was worried about anything so that assured him that these guys were capable enough to protect him.

Within half an hour they reached the place where Emily's home was supposed to be. Her parents and the rest of the family were waiting for her. They thanked Dave and went to hide in thier home.

" Do you like that girl, Mr. Jin?" Conan teased Dave by saying this and slapping his back.

" What's there to not like about her?" Dave replied.

" We saw that many other girls were staring at you, they all wanna do you so badly." Max grinned and then Roy also joined with a similar remark.

They finally reached the inn but as soon as they entered, Dave heard a commotion happening outside of the inn. He and others came out to look at what was happening, only to see that houses were burning. People were running here and there, Jin was unable to process such a thing as people tried to save themselves from the fire.

The fire spread from one house to another, how could there be suddenly so much fire all over the place? This question was soon answered as they saw. a person wearing a black hooded outfit.

From the palm of his hands, various fireballs were coming out. The fireballs burned everything that they touched. Without a doubt, it was some kind of skill that the man was using to burn everything in the town.

" What should we do Conan?" Max asked his leader.

" We take Mr. Jin to safety," Conan spoke, " If possible we should leave this village, did you see the speed at which the man moved, his speed stat must be around 5."

" Come on follow us!" Conan spoke to Dave.

Something was wrong with him, Dave could feel it. He wasn't moving even when Conan told him to, he had heard him clearly but something had taken over him. He was gnashing his teeth and felt his head become heavier, this was anger.

Dave had sensed that nowadays he was becoming angrier and angrier for some reason. The next second he said some words that didn't make sense even to him.

" You can retreat, but I am going to kill all of them," Dave spoke.

" What are you talking about? These guys are too strong, we don't stand a chance if there are more people like him here. Don't let your anger control you." Conan spoke as he grabbed hold of Dave's hand so that he couldn't run away.

" Look miss Emily she is also escaping with her family," Max spoke after spotting the girl that Dave had a date with today. She also saw Dave but instead of calling out to him or coming toward him, she focused on escaping.

" Roy and Max bring our supplies to the carriage, We will make sure the carriage is ready to move," Conan ordered after sensing that Dave was now ready to move.

They quickly ran towards the back of the building where the carriage was standing. Conan freed the horses and attached them to the carriage. Dave opened the doors and cleared the way for it to move.

Max and Roy were fast enough to come back with all of the supplies and load them into the carriage. Conan took the reigns and drove the carriage outside.

From the windows, Dave saw the destruction all over the place, he could see some other men wearing black uniforms with hoods covering thier head. They moved fast and had various destructive skills, on the way they even saw people calling out to them for help. However, Conan drove the carriage relentlessly while shouting for others to not get in the way.

The feeling of hopelessness against the strong, Dave didn't like this feeling. The more he thought about it the angrier he became.

Suddenly the carriage was stopped by Conan.

" Mr. Jin, stay inside," Roy spoke as he got off the carriage, leaving him and Max inside.

" We are surrounded," Max spoke because he sensed danger from every direction.
