monster ch 3

As Toji approached the door to the room where his wife and child were staying, a sudden chill ran down his spine, causing him to hesitate for a moment. He shook off the sensation and pushed the door open gently. Inside, he found his wife, Ayumi, cradling their baby in her arms. As he entered, Ayumi looked up, concern etched on her face.

"Toji, what's wrong?" she whispered urgently, mindful of their sleeping child. "You could've woken the baby."

Toji sighed softly, trying to dispel the unease he felt. "Sorry, it must have just been my imagination," he murmured, stepping further into the room. "Are you both okay?"

Ayumi nodded, a tired but relieved smile gracing her lips. "Yes, we're fine. I've managed to recover some of my strength, and our little one is doing well," she assured him, gently rocking the baby back to sleep.

"I see," Toji replied, his voice tinged with a hint of worry. "Well, I'll go fetch something for us to eat then. Wait here."

Ayumi chuckled softly, the sound warm and comforting in the dimly lit room. "There's nowhere for me to go, anyway," she teased lightly, her eyes sparkling with affection.

Toji managed a weak smile in response, though his mind was still troubled by the strange sensation he had felt earlier. "I

guess your right," he agreed quietly, before turning to leave the room in search of sustenance for his small family."

As Toji exited the room, his once calm and gentle expression hardened into one of cold indifference. Doubt gnawed at his mind as he pondered the unsettling sensation he had experienced moments ago.

"Was I just imagining stuff?" he muttered to himself, his voice laced with skepticism. "I could've sworn I felt a strong cursed energy. Although it was weak, its potential is on par, if not far greater, than that brat."

Lost in his thoughts, Toji was abruptly interrupted by the appearance of a man in a sharp suit, Shiu.

"Hey..." Shiu began tentatively, but Toji's icy glare silenced him momentarily.

"What do you want, Shiu?" Toji's tone was curt, his patience thin.

Shiu, undeterred by Toji's demeanor, pressed on eagerly. "I've got wonderful news for you today. Are you—"

Before Shiu could finish his sentence, Toji cut him off abruptly, his voice sharp and dismissive. "No." The word hung in the air, final and resolute, as Toji turned away, dismissing Shiu without a second thought.

"Why though? You always accept a mission without a second thought, so why refuse now?" Shiu pressed, his curiosity evident in his tone.

"Shui, my wife just gave birth to our first baby a couple of minutes ago," Toji explained, his voice tinged with urgency. "And as soon as I stepped out of the room, I sensed three presences on top of a building not far from where my wife and child are resting. Now that I know my clan wants me and my family dead, I can't afford to leave them behind. The Zenin clan is wicked and cruel, willing to do anything to preserve their status as one of the Three Great Sorcerer Families of the Jujutsu world. That's why I'll quit from now on and just focus on protecting my family."

Shiu nodded understandingly, his expression somber. "Fine, but if you change your mind, feel free to call me. Bye."

As soon as Shiu left, Toji hurried to a nearby convenience store and purchased some ready-to-eat food. After several minutes of brisk walking, he arrived at his wife's room. Upon entering, his eyes widened in disbelief at the scene before him. Cursed energy swirled around their surroundings, being absorbed by their baby. Even more astonishing was the sight of his wife's cursed energy also being drawn into their child.

Alarmed, Toji moved swiftly, reaching out to take the child away from his wife. Ayumi gasped, startled by the sudden action.

"Toji, what are you doing?" she exclaimed, confusion evident in her voice as she watched her husband's frantic movements.,

"Hey!!" Ayumi's sharp reprimand cut through Toji's thoughts, snapping him back to the present moment.

"Sorry, I was just eager to hold the baby," Toji replied sheepishly, his tone contrite.

"Fine, but there will be no next time, you hear me?" Ayumi's voice softened slightly, though her tone remained firm. "If you want to hold our baby, ask me first. Don't take me by surprise."

"Alright, sorry about that," Toji apologized, nodding in understanding as he cradled their child more gently this time.

After apologizing to his wife for his abrupt actions, Toji focused his senses, honed over years of training, to examine their baby's body. What he discovered shocked him to the core – their child possessed the largest cursed energy reserve of any Jujutsu sorcerer who had ever lived.

"My child's cursed energy reserve is bigger than that brat's," Toji murmured, a grin spreading across his face.

"This will cause the whole world of Jujutsu sorcerers to change," he mused aloud, excitement and anticipation coursing through him. "Now that a new sorcerer has been born with immense cursed energy, the balance of the world will greatly change. How will the three clans react to this?"

As Toji was lost in his thoughts about the implications of his child's immense cursed energy, his wife's voice broke through his reverie.

"Hey, what are you mumbling about? Have you gone crazy from holding our child?" Ayumi's teasing tone brought Toji back to the present moment, her mouth full of the food he had just bought.

"No, it's just that it's my first time holding a baby, so it's a new experience for me," Toji replied with a chuckle, attempting to hide his deeper thoughts.

"Hahaha, I see. Now then," Ayumi laughed, raising both of her hands in a playful gesture.

Toji looked at her with confusion, wondering what she was doing, until she rolled her eyes and pointed at their baby. Understanding dawned on him, and he quickly handed the baby over to her.

As Toji watched his wife cradle their child, a sense of pride and determination welled up within him. "Although my child's cursed energy reserve is still empty, it will slowly fill up," he thought to himself. "And when he grows up, I will teach him all he needs to know about wielding a cursed tool. I will train him in hand-to-hand combat and give him experience exorcising curse spirits."

Lost in contemplation, Toji couldn't help but marvel at the potential his child possessed. But amidst his pride, a sobering thought crossed his mind: "My wife just gave birth to a monster."
