1 The Apocalypse Has Arrived!

It was a boring Monday as usual when the strange incident happened. Suddenly, screams started to be heard from outside my classroom.

Of course, we all immediately felt panicked. What happened next was something I had only ever seen in horror films or novels. Humans turn into zombies, animals also mutate into terrible creatures.

But, it didn't take long for me to realize what was happening. This is a reality. Something happened to the world and I was just one victim among others.

However, I got some luck at the start which made me able to be a little calmer in going through this terrible situation. That was a rare and powerful skill, gravity manipulation.

"AAAAAA!!!"

The scream echoed in the corridor. Barry, who was asleep, immediately woke up because of the sound.

At first he thought it was just the screams of random girls playing. But the truth was far from that and very shocking.

"HELP! HELP ME! AAAA!"

The girl screaming for help in front of the classroom door attracted the attention of all the students.

Barry rubbed his eyes which were still a little blurry and saw that something was pulling the girl by her legs until she disappeared through the door.

Then, another scream followed. Everyone in the class suddenly panicked. Barry, who previously still felt sleepy, immediately stood up and checked his bag.

'Good! I didn't forget my knife!'

He immediately knew that what happened wasn't something good with all the screaming. Now, the screams were getting louder, coming from all over the place.

It was just a small knife that he kept just in case.

Usually Barry only uses it to peel fruit or other unimportant things. But now it looks like the knife will play a big role in preserving his life.

'I don't know if this knife is enough for survival but it's better to have something to defend yourself in a situation like this, right?'

A loud sound came from the door. A student who had turned into a zombie came and started walking into the classroom at a slow pace. However, its appearance, which was full of wounds, was enough to give the effect of fear that froze all the students in the class.

Another zombie appears and jumps from the window into the classroom. It was a zombie of a teacher.

'Calm down!'

Barry forced his shaking hands to remain calm. He just found out how difficult it is to remain calm in a situation between life and death.

Barry immediately forced his body to move and hid under the table.

'Calm down. From what I know zombies will die if I attack their heads. I hope that's true.'

Barry felt stupid for using what he saw in films and read in novels as his reference for surviving. But that's all he knows because no one has ever shared how to kill zombies. Because zombies never existed in the first place in the real world.

Barry just hid while catching his breath when his classmates were massacred or ran away. He felt like he didn't have time to care about them now.

Until finally the atmosphere in the class became a little quieter. Maybe because the other students had managed to escape, or because they were all dead.

Barry slowly came out of his hiding place.

"GRUAAHH!!!"

But it turned out to be the wrong decision. A zombie with sharp, bloody teeth pounced on him from the side.

After that, Barry's body moved by itself. He rolled to the side, letting the zombie - which was charging fast - hit the wall until its neck broke. However, the zombie's fingers were still moving and its body was twitching slightly.

Barry stared at the zombie for a few moments. Then, driven by adrenaline and fear, Barry lunged at the zombie and plunged his knife into its head repeatedly.

Barry's teeth gritted tightly.

He didn't stop to stab because of the adrenaline rush. Until finally he realized that there was still one more zombie left in this class.

However, what surprised Barry more was the appearance of the text in his vision. It was written in a bright red color like blood.

[ You have killed a Level 1 Normal Zombie! ]

[ Because this is your first kill, you will get more bonuses! ]

[ Obtained: 100 exp, Dagger (Normal grade weapon), Stealth (normal grade skill) ]

Barry's brain immediately started working as fast as possible.

'This is something like a novel I read!' he thought. 'Okay, this way, I just have to access the menu with my mind, right?'

His habit of reading online novels which made him look like he had no life finally turned into something useful. He feels like a veteran of some special professional field.

Barry immediately got rid of the status window containing his status for him to check later. He now only focuses on a skill he just acquired.

[Stealth (Lv.1): when activated the skill removes your presence from observation by beings below Level 10.]

'Okay. This is pretty good for a start.' Barry smiled. Then immediately activate the skill.

[ Stealth (Lv. 1) activated! ]

The zombie turned towards him when he had activated [Stealth] so the zombie couldn't see him.

Barry took the dagger that had been dropped from the zombie he had killed and then crept slowly behind the zombie. When he was at the right distance, Rama thrust his dagger as hard as he could into the back of the zombie's head.

Blood and brains spurted from Barry's stab onto his face. Barry pulled out the dagger then thrust it again several times until finally the zombie fell on the floor with the other corpses.

[ You have killed a Level 1 normal zombie! ]

[ Obtained: 50 exp. ]

The amount Barry gets is much less than what he got on his first skill. He sighed but wasn't that disappointed.

Then Barry moved slowly towards the door and looked out carefully.

Screams could be heard from all directions. Barry only realized it now because he had been too focused on the two zombies to realize it.

When he looked up at the sky, Barry frowned when he saw some kind of crack there. It was as if the sky was cracked... like a glass cracked after being hit.

'Damn... the world I knew is gone now.'
