Doing Some Pest Control

Right now, in front of them were two sewer rats. Their size was two meters in high and their length was probably around five meters from head to tail.

What makes them look even more terrifying are the two teeth that look like two daggers sticking out of their upper mouths.

They had a pair of teeth filled with blood and pieces of flesh. It was clear that the two of them had finished eating things they found in this mansion.

"No, mom!" Elaine almost ran towards the house with a frantic expression. Her eyes trembled because she seemed to be able to see the form of her dead mother, torn to shreds behind the giant body of the sewer rats.

Luckily, Barry immediately held her back before she actually ran. Or she might just become another meal for those sewer rats.

"Don't!" Barry said, grabbing her hand hard. "Do you want to kill yourself?!"

"But my mom is there!" Elaine replied in a high, panicked voice.

"I know. But we can't be careless now. You could be the one who dies if you are reckless."

Elaine bit her lips, staring at the two sewer rats. They look really terrifying and strong. What should she do?!

"We're a lot stronger now than before. We can kill them," Barry said.

Even though he wasn't really sure about his own words, that was all he could say now. Barry also put on a face as calm as possible so that Elaine wouldn't go crazy and rush recklessly.

"Listen, you have two skills now, right?" Barry asked.

Elaine looked at him and nodded.

"Use it to attack from afar. We must face them together."

Elaine was seen swallowing her saliva, indicating that she felt anxious and afraid. However, Barry's firm gaze and calm expression made Elaine able to regain composure quickly.

"Alright," Elaine said.

The two sewer rats seemed to have not noticed their presence. Their eyes are milky white, it seems they have no ability to see and rely on other senses to know what is around them.

Barry tried to look at their stats but he was too far away. It turns out that the maximum distance of his Insightful Gaze was around ten meters.

"Wait here." Barry began to settle forward. While Elaine waited anxiously, biting her lips, at her place.

"Be careful," ELaine said.

Barry just nodded without looking at her.

He crept from behind trees and bushes in the front yard of Elaine's house. Luckily, they grow a lot of plants here.

Every step made him flutter, he could have stepped on a twig like everything that usually happens in horror films and made those two giant sewer rats know where he was.

But, it turns out it didn't happen. He managed to settle in smoothly and looked at their stats.

[ Giant Sewer Rat. ]

[ Level: 12 ]

[ Life: 530 ]

[ Attributes: Strength: 15 / Agility: 20 / Defense: 10 / Magic Power: 0 / Luck: 0 ]

[ Skills: Poisonous Claws (Lv.1) ]

'Tsk!' Barry clicked his tongue. 'As I expected, they will indeed be a problem. A big problem.'

Now, with Attributes like that how are they supposed to kill those two sewer rats? Or, they just have to run?

But Elaine won't want to run away from her mother. If he ran then Elaine would just rush in and try to kill them herself. That way, she will only meet her death.

Barry shook his head. 'I can't just let her be.'

After everything they experienced during the past few hours, he had already developed some kind of good relationship with Elaine.

She took him to a safe place when he passed out because he ran out of Magic Power. Barry feels like he has to help her.

But how?

'Wait.'

Barry once again looked at the two Giant Sewer Rats, their Attributes were quite troublesome. However, their Defense is not very high.

'Maybe my Gravity Manipulation coupled with the Enhanced Strength skill can penetrate it.'

With that, Barry still feels hopeful.

Barry sneaks back towards where Elaine is hiding. Then convey what he got to her.

"You think we can kill them?" Elaine asked.

Barry sighed. "Hopefully."

Elaine stared at Barry for a few moments. Then she steels herself. This is all to save her mother who is trapped in there.

"Let's go!" Elaine said.

Barry nodded.

The two Giant Sewer Rats just continued pacing around the mansion they had destroyed. There was nothing left for them to eat because they couldn't find anything that they could smell or hear.

Their voices which usually squeaked turned into growls. Making them who previously were not a threat turn into something terrible.

*BLARRR!!!*

A surprise lightning strike struck them both at once.

The two Giant Sewer Rats let out terrifying screech sounds. Then, they immediately dashed in the direction the lightning came from. They heard the sound of running footsteps.

They sped off at incredible speed. Those 20 Agility is no joke.

Elaine, who had used her Quick Step, still felt panicked because she felt they could catch up to her.

"BARRY!" Elaine shouted desperately.

Barry, who was already on the rooftop of a gazebo, jumped and floated in the air for a few seconds. When he felt the timing was right he used his Gravity Manipulation to pull himself down with a great force.

And with Enhanced Strength, Barry hit the head of the Giant Sewer Rat he was targeting.

*BOOM!*

*CRAAATTT!*

Blood splattered in all directions when Barry's fist hit the head of one of the Giant Sewer Rats. But, it's not dead yet.

The Rat let out a disturbing screech and moved as hard as it could but it couldn't get Barry off its head.

Its friend who realized it, immediately rushed to help. However, it then received repeated lightning bolt shots from Elaine.

*BLAARR!*

*BLAARR!*

*BLAARR!*

...

Elaine pouring her Magic Power to make those attacks. She gritted her teeth, hoping the rat died as soon as possible.

With low Defense, Elaine's attacks immediately created many wounds on its body. But the Giant Sewer Rats don't know how to give up.

It dashed towards Elaine in all four accompanied by an angry screech.

Elaine, who was tired of running and burned with fear over her mother's condition, ran over to meet the Rat instead. She have to kill them quick to save her mother.

Barry who saw this wanted to immediately help her because maybe Elaine couldn't survive on her own. But he still has his own business.

The Rat under him thrashed until finally forcing Barry to go down. Even though its head was badly injured, its ferocity still persisted.

The Rat lunged at him, brandishing its huge front teeth and claws.
