4 A Girl Almost Fried Me

Barry got up from his lying position after about five minutes had passed. When he looked again at his Magic Power status, it turned out that his Magic Power had only been filled to 6. He didn't know what was affecting the speed of Magic Power regeneration, but now that regeneration was very low.

However, one thing that makes Barry happy now even though his condition is still not good is something he obtained from killing that Level 7 zombie.

The Epic grade skill, Gravity Manipulation.

He knew from the name alone that this skill was definitely awesome. To be able to manipulate gravity will clearly give him an advantage in battle.

Barry leaned against the wall. The corpse of the big zombie lay in front of him along with the other corpses. The classroom now looks like a scene from a snuff movie from deebweb sites.

The smell and sight of death spread everywhere. The pain he felt when he killed the Level 7 zombie was still clear.

Barry was a little annoyed because the exp he got from the zombies was only a little compared to the pain he had to feel. But that feeling of annoyance immediately disappeared when he remembered that he got Gravity Manipulation.

He didn't level up, but he gained a powerful skill.

Barry was lost in thought for a few moments because there was nothing he could do to wait for his Magic Power and his stamina to be fully charged again. Because of that, he ended up thinking about many questions that he should have thought about from the start.

What the hell is going on?

Barry remembered the crack he saw in the sky. Finally now, he was sure that what he experienced was not just a dream. This is real, and the world is being hit by a weird kind of disaster.

'Those fictions apparently had became reality.' Barry smiled weakly. All this time he was teased because he liked reading. He even became the target of bullying because he liked reading a lot. 

Barry is not a bright child even though he likes reading. He only reads fiction and most of what he reads are web novels. So his knowledge of basic knowledge is not very good.

He is also not someone who is particularly good-looking. His height is average. Overall, Barry is an average person. That's why he's easy to forget. Just like an extra in the corner of a screen, or an NPC in the game.

It was all okay. Barry never expected much in his life. He can accept to live as an average person forever. He is content with it. Moreover, he has a good family.

But now, all that seems to be changing.

'Anyway, now I have to save my mother and sister first.' Barry forced his still limp body to stand up. He didn't dare to use his Gravity Manipulation skill before his Magic Power was fully charged.

Barry walked out of the classroom. When he looked up he saw the crack in the sky again, which still looked the same as it had a few minutes ago. He doesn't know what it is but he has a bad feeling about that. Something like that is usually never a good thing.

Now the sound of screaming is a little less than before. There were still several people screaming in the distance but Barry was sure that soon the screaming too, would stop. Because they will soon die. 

'Has anyone found an Epic grade skill like me too?' Barry wondered in his heart. 'If there is, it would be better if we help each other. Or actually, using each other.' 

He continued to move carefully and stealthily between the classroom corridors. If Barry sees a zombie, he won't immediately attack like before because his Magic Power still hasn't fully recovered.

He doesn't really care about leveling up now. What is important is how to survive in the midst of this situation.

The zombies are still roaming around looking for prey. Barry also saw several Level 7 zombies that were the same as the ones he fought earlier. But instead of fighting most people at this school are just busy running. Even though if they can kill the zombies they will get stronger.

'Well, I guess surviving in the world that has become like this isn't for everyone.'

Barry feel a little bit relieved. Once again he felt lucky about everything he read. With that, he can immediately control himself, access his status screen, and use his skills.

However, he immediately remembered his mother and sister. They were most likely experiencing the same fears and terror that he saw in those people.

Barry passed several weak zombies which he choose to kill using his Martial Arts skills. The skill is still at Level 1 now but to just fight these zombies the skill is enough.

He killed several more zombies until he finally managed to rise to Level 3. For now Barry uses his Attribute points to increase his Strength, bringing his Strength to 13.

'My attributes are still quite low. I have to play carefully.'

*BOOM!*

An explosion occurred in front of him. Barry immediately jumped to hide behind the wall. He took a peek, then saw a sight that was quite surprising.

"HYAAAHH!"

*BOOM!*

A girl, a student at this school too, is fighting a Level 7 - or more - zombie like the one she fought earlier. She uses pretty strong skill. She shoot lightning from her hand.

*ZRRRZZZTT!!!*

The lightning struck with such extraordinary intensity that it spread everywhere. The lightning was so strong that it finally burned the zombie and the walls and broke the window glass around her. But Barry is worried about her Magic Power, won't using that great skills drain a lot of Magic Power?

Nevertheless, the girl was finally able to kill the zombie. Then she gasped for breath afterward. She saw something in her vision, seemed to be looking at whatever she obtained from the zombie.

'She's strong. It would be very good for me if I working together with her.'

Barry decided to come out of his hiding place and walked slowly towards the girl. However, even though he was walking slowly, his movements still made the girl startled.

She, without hesitation, immediately shot a lightning bolt from her hand towards Barry.

*ZAAP!*

*SRAATT!*

*BOOM!*

Luckily, the lightning bolt only grazed his left cheek. Barry's eyes widened. Just a little more to the right and his head will explode.

"I'm a human," Barry said in a calm tone even though his heart was beating so hard it seemed like it might explode.

"Oh! s-sorry!" The girl immediately ran towards Barry and looked at his cheek. "Oh my god... I almost killed you."

Barry swallowed his saliva. "I'm fine. My luck is pretty high. We'd better go to a safe place first."

The girl immediately nodded and they went to look for a place that was relatively safer than here.
