10 Innocent

Dave gritted his teeth as he tried his best to look intimidating. He held a long sword in his hand as he looked at the bandits surrounding him.

But even he knew that he and his team were doomed now.

He and his team had taken this mission of escorting because it was given by the Salo Commercial company, and who dares to go against them.

They had thought this mission would be a piece of cake, and they would get the rewards without doing anything significant. They just needed to sit in the truck and travel.

They never imagined that someone would be foolish enough to actually loot Salo company's goods. Especially bandits. They should cower in fear because when Salo company learns of them looting their goods, they would be destroyed.

That's how powerful the Salo Commercial company was; this city just had a branch, and the whole Salo company was big.

He took a deep breath, no need to think about those things now. He needed to focus on finding a way to escape along with his team and hide away.

But that seemed impossible; the leader of the bandit was at tier 3, and many of the other bandits were on tier 2.

This was a lineup they couldn't face, considering they only had two people on Tier 2 and the other three barely entering Tier 2.

The leader of the bandits laughed and said, "Haha, brat, leave the goods and girls behind and fuck off. I'm not in the mood to kill ants now."

Dave ignored the bandit leader's remarks and said to his team, "Guys, be ready. It's do or die, and focus on escaping."

The others nodded as they readied their weapons. They were ready to attack when they suddenly stopped.

Even the bandits stopped as they all looked at the girl in between them.

Lilly landed directly in between the bandits and Dave. She looked around and saw that everyone was looking at her with a stunned look.

"I thought some robbery is going on, am I mistaken?" Lilly tilted her head slightly and asked with an innocent face.

A young girl from Dave's team was the first one to come back to their senses. She stepped forward and said or rather pleaded, "Miss, these bandits are trying to rob us; please help us."

"Silvi, don't drag someone else into our mess." Dave immediately shouted at the girl; he didn't want another one to die with them.

Silvi turned towards Dave and said, "Just trust me for once, Dave."

Dave wanted to say something, but words choked in his throat. He then turned silent and readied his sword to fight.

"Haha, what makes you think that a normal girl would be able to help you?" The bandit leader laughed out loud while his gaze lingered on Lilly.

Only now Dave noticed that Lilly was a normal human with no powers. He could feel nothing from her, and that just means that Lilly was a normal human. He cursed himself for trusting Silvi.

'Hmm? I'm a normal girl? Why is that new information?' Lilly thought, hearing the words of the bandit leader 'Are they weak, or is this place just that backward?'

She couldn't understand it, so she put that in the back of her head. She then gave a slight glance at Silvi and thought, 'This girl has some nice acting skills, heh.'

She then shrugged her shoulders and said, "Sure, it's an easy task for me."

The bandit leader laughed even more and ordered, "Haha, go and kill all the men in the group and bring the girls to me, especially this loudmouth; I would teach her some things myself."

His lust-filled gaze never left Lilly; he had never seen such beauty before, and he was really excited to taste her. He had received this mission from someone and was promised enough rewards that he could easily flee to other areas and live there. Now he even had a girl with him. He was really blessed by the goddess of luck.

The other bandits nodded and jumped to attack.

Lilly sighed as her voice reverberated, "How noisy."

The next moment, ten enormous fireballs formed and hovered above her, scaring the shit out of Silvi, who was the closest.

Even the other members of the team stumbled back, and they all looked in horror at the fireballs.

Lilly didn't care about their reaction and waved her hand; the fireball followed her gesture and shot at every bandit.

The bandits didn't even get the time to react before the fireball engulfed them in flames. Even the leader was among them; they could do nothing but scream as the fire melted away every part of their bodies.

Dave and others shuddered in fear as they listened to the dying screams of bandits. They had cold sweat running down their backs as they all looked at Lilly in terror.

What kind of death goddess had they encountered? They wondered.

Silvi was the one who was most afraid; she was getting a feeling that Lilly was strong, so she was trying to use her, especially seeing her innocence. Was this innocence? She literally burned ten living humans without even batting an eye. She didn't even flinch while performing the action.

Silvi was praying to all gods that Lilly wasn't offended by her actions. Otherwise, she would be just one another corpse left to be burnt.

Soon the screams of bandits died down along with them. All that remained was an eerie silence and the rapid heartbeat of Dave and his team.

Dave gulped as he waited for Lilly to do something or at least say something.

Lilly turned around and looked at them; then she scratched the back of her and said, "Looks like I went overboard; they were too weak, I thought they'd at least handle something like that."

Robb, who was sitting on a tree branch far away, facepalmed while thinking 'And you said something about being low-key, oh my dear Lilly, I really need to teach you some common sense. I just hope you don't do anything stupid.'
