31 No Secrets

Haruto's POV

I had been waiting for Lucy to return and was standing near the courtyard. Serena had told me she would probably land here.

I waited for about half an hour just standing there idly. It was nothing serious but I had just promised Serena that I would become someone Lucy could trust completely, and hiding the conversation I had with her and the information I knew now would defeat that purpose.

Lucy landed gracefully, and her beautiful jet-black wings protected her from the after-shock and they immediately hid and became invisible afterwards.

Obviously, she was surprised I was standing there, the only person who knew this spot in the massive courtyard was Serena after all. She asked me what I was doing there and thankfully I had a response prepared. I told her we needed to talk.

Her reaction though was something I did not expect, it was as if she was exhausted from hearing that word. But that expression disappeared in a second as she smiled and started laughing, finding something I said amusing.

"Let's take a walk, we can talk in private here" she said as she held out her hand towards me.

I looked at her hand as blood rushed to my face, I limply held out my own hand and took it.

I suddenly felt a jolt as she pulled me closer to her and intertwined our fingers together.

"Shall we?" she said as she led the way.

"Serena told you about this place didn't she?" she asked.

"Yeah...and also a lot of other stuff" I said, finding it a good way to move my point forward.

"Oh yeah...what else?" she said with a raised eyebrow.

"Well mostly about you...your childhood I guess" I said in a soft tone.

Her demeanour instantly changed and her grip on my hand had gotten tighter.

"It seems I have to discipline my subordinates better" she said in a monotonous tone.

"Wait! No..No, you have got it all wrong. I asked her to, please just listen to me!" I pleaded.

"Sigh...go on. I am only listening because it is you though" she said.

"Well...how do I put it. Between the day I first met you and now, you have become very different...and I wanted to know why. I knew that Serena was close to you so I asked her. I wanted to get to know you more. I am naive, I know that but I am not oblivious, I knew it was something to do with your childhood so I asked her. And if it helps, Serena just told me her story and her perspective, she herself said your past was only yours to tell. Please don't punish her" I told her.

"I see, that was kind of her" she replied. She calmed down again.

"What did she tell you then?" she asked.

I told her everything she had told me word for word, not hiding a single detail. I kept blabbering for so long that I didn't even realise we were already back at the entrance back into the palace.

By the time I finished, Lucy was smiling gently and her eyes were moist.

"I guess I wasn't so alone after all, thank you Serena" I heard as she said in a whisper.

"There was one more important thing though...She requested something of me and I promised I would grant her request" I said as I cleared my throat.

"Oh and what is that?' she questioned.

"It will not mean anything if I tell you...what I can do is show you, and if I succeed you will know what it was yourself" I answered. It was not like I didn't want to tell her, but after all she has been through, she probably knows the pain of false promises.

"I look forward to it I guess, but I hope it's not something...Ill suiting between the two of you" she said with serious intent.

"What! N-no...nothing like that!!" I said in a confused tone. Wondering where the sudden hostility came from.

"I see, that's good. Anything else you want to talk about" she asked.

"Well yeah... it's about the prophecy" I said again in a soft tone to soften the impact.

"I guess it was going to happen someday anyway...what about it?" she said as her grip on my hand tightened.

"Do you believe it...do you think it will come true?" I asked with apprehension.

She took a deep breath and replied.

"At different points in my life, I have felt different emotions towards it. Sometimes I was scared of looking at myself in the mirror in fear of seeing a monster who will destroy the world. At other times I hated how that piece of paper ruined my life and I was sure it was fabricated just to spite me. A few times I tried to hurt myself so I could rid the world of my burden, no me no world ending right. At other times I trained myself to death just so I could prove everyone and that piece of paper wrong. Lucky for you though, I have recently found a concrete answer".

"Now...in this moment...I don't care, if it comes true I dont care and if it doesn't, all is well and good. Indifference is the best way to describe it I suppose. No matter the emotion though, one thing was constant, I was obsessed with it...but that has changed, or rather it is more appropriate to say that my obsessions have changed" she said while smiling. It was clear that she was telling the truth.

We were walking through the hallways of the castle as we continued our conversation, we finally reached a door I had never been to but it was clear that it was the most important one.

"You have never been here have you...This is my room and the one next to it is my office. Well as much as I would like to spend another eternity talking with you, I need to take some rest. I do have a question for you though. Why did you tell me all this, you could have kept it all to yourself?" she said with a grin.

"No secrets....that's what I decided. I don't want to hide anything from you, whatever you want to know...whenever you want to know. I will tell you, no hiding no secrets. I know this is selfish of me but I would appreciate it if you did the same. I will not fault you if you don't though" I said with conviction.

I looked at Lucy and her eyes had gone wide. Her surprised face changed into a flushed one.

She put her hands around my waist and hugged me tightly.

"Of course! You can ask me anything...anything you want! I promise too...I will never ever hide anything from you either. I already promised myself and I promise you too!" she said in an elated voice. Her hug getting tighter and tighter to the point I couldn't breathe.

I was feeling a myriad of emotions going through my head at that moment. The sense of breathlessness combined with her breasts rubbing against my chest made me aroused. I tried to calm myself down however, now was not the time for that.

She finally separated from me after a few minutes. Somewhere along that time though, I could feel her breathing down my neck, the hotness sent shivers down my spine. But those breaths got hotter and hotter as I could feel her breathing harder and her nose get closer and closer to my neck.

"Suhaaa....hmmmm" I could feel her inhale.

"What happened, are you ok?" I said as I caught my breath.

"Nothing.....No wait, I just promised you I wouldn't hide anything. I was smelling you, once I started I couldn't stop. I think I am addicted" she said proudly.

My mouth was wide open as I processed her words. I couldn't speak and just stared at her.

"Anyway, now that my Haruto meter has been filled up, I need some rest. Did you have anything else to say?" she said as she opened the door to her room and stepped one foot inside.

"Wait! Just one more thing...the other person in the prophecy, you think it is me right?" I asked, this was the question I had intended to ask all along.

She looked at me straight in the eye, she placed a hand on the collar of my shirt and pulled me into her room and pushed my back against the door. Closing it with a bang.

"I dont think it is you....I know it is you" she said while smirking.

"Now, let us rest shall we...she said as she led me by the collar of my shirt and sat me down at the edge of her bed.

"Wait, what did you say? If you are going to rest why bring me in here?" I said, completely flabbergasted. My heart was pounding out of my chest because of her actions moments ago.

"Did I say 'I', sorry I meant 'we'. Come on get on the bed, I am sleepy..." she said as she walked towards her large closet and pulled out a thin veil like garment.

"What are you doing!" I cried out.

"Changing of course...its not comfortable sleeping in training attire you know. Now come on, help me pull the zip down on my back...I want to change quick" she said as she approached the bed again.

One again, I couldn't speak. I didnt know I was supposed to feel elated or scared....and things just kept going on in that direction for some reason, blood rushed to my had and I feel the temperature around my face rise as I placed my hand on her back.
