1 It All Comes Crashing Down

I had woken up after what felt like the best sleep I had had in years. I felt like I was ready to face anything the world would throw at me. I felt that today was going to be a good day but little did my naive mind know that life had other plans.....

I got up while humming my favourite song and headed to the bath, I came out as fresh as ever, and as I got changed and headed for breakfast, I opened my phone to see a message from my childhood friend.....and girlfriend, Arisa.

"Hey, I am heading for school a bit early today...I have some work to do. You can leave without me. I am sorry"

Well I guess I was leaving for school alone today, it felt a bit weird, we were always together, even before we started dating. But for the past few weeks, it had been like this, I didn't pay much mind to it and devoured the breakfast my mom had taken great care of preparing for me.

For some reason, I felt very grateful that day and gave my mom a big hug that even took her by surprise. Looking back on it I am glad that I did.

I arrived at school at my usual time and scanned the classroom for Arisa but she was nowhere to be seen. I sat down at my usual place and kept waiting but to no avail.

I went up to the rooftop where we usually hung out and as I placed my hand on the door I could hear some voices speaking.....and one of them I recognized.

My curiosity got the better of me and I opened the door slightly.....

"I am glad you came early today as well, we can have some fun before class starts" I heard a voice say, one I have heard before and one that I would never have thought would be speaking to the other voice.

"Stop it!! Not now....class is almost going to start" I heard another voice speak, an unmistakable voice that I had heard my entire life.

My heart sank as I tried to process what I had just heard, my feet were stuck to the ground and I couldn't move as I peeked deeper into the door and saw the face I dreaded to see, Arisa.

"Oh.....so now you act all lady-like. Do I need to remind you that you are the one cheating on your boyfriend? Of course, I was the one who convinced you to, so I guess we both are the bad guys" the other voice said.

"He....he is just a childhood friend" she replied

Both my heart and mind had shattered into pieces as tears welled up in my eyes but even more so was pure anger, so much so that my vision had become blurry. At this point I had had enough and pushed the door open completely, making a loud creaking noise and looked straight at the two people in front of me. one was shocked and bewildered, the other smirking like he was watching a circus show.

"Oops, looks like we got found out" he said, breaking the silence that had been present before.

As I looked into his eyes, I felt nothing but hatred for this man. The man I despised the most in the world right now....Akira Sagesawa. The infamous womanizer of our class.

My fists were closed tightly with rage and before I did anything I would regret, I looked one last time at the woman I thought I cared the most about. Meeting her eyes before turning around and leaving down the stairs.

"Wait....I can explain!! I'm sorry!! Please wait.....It's not what you think!!" I heard as I shut the door as hard as I could and ran down the stairs with tears streaming down my face, crouching at the back of the stairs on the ground floor as I cried until my eyes couldn't produce any more tears.

Once I was done there was a brief moment of peace as I was too overwhelmed to feel any emotions, I wiped my tears and sat there in silence as the time for class got closer. I was too numb at this point to think and my body was working on its own. The only thing I could feel was anger and betrayal.

I got up and made my way to the classroom, looking at my pathetic self in the glass before entering, even a smirk appearing on my face at the irony of how I felt in the morning as compared to now.

I looked at my classroom from the outside, dreading the reactions of the people inside. I saw Akira laughing with his friends and Arisa pacing around at the back of the class, frantically working on her phone.

As I was just about to enter the room, I heard my phone ring and immediately after that was an instant of silence as I could feel time get slower and then a blinding flash of light engulfed our whole class and I got knocked unconscious.

The next time I opened my eyes I was on my knees in front of a huge stage. Surrounded by twelve people in robes and in the middle was an old fat man with a crown on his head. Giggling like a pig, with greed in his eyes as well as his body, which was covered in jewelry of all forms.

I looked around to see my classmates behind me, just as bewildered and confused.

I looked back at the man with the crown smiling and smirking like he was looking at monkeys in the zoo, nothing more than tools for his amusement.

"Welcome all of you!! I am sure you are all confused, so let me enlighten you. You have been brought to another world, very different from your own and my kingdom is in dire need of your help" he said with a malicious grin on his face.

It was then that I, Haruto Hideyoshi, realized that my days of hell had just begun.....
