2 If only he killed me

Zephyr opened his eyes to a blinding white light, feeling a sense of disorientation that he had never felt before. He tried to move, but found himself tightly bound in swaddling blankets.

Looking around, he realized that he was in a sterile room filled with strange tools and equipment that he had never seen before. The air smelled of antiseptic and there was a faint buzzing sound in the background that filled the air.

' Where am I? Wait …wait …I am alive !' he thought immediately.

As he lay there, trying to make sense of his surroundings, memories of his past life flooded his mind.

He remembered his family, his home, and his powers as a demon, but everything seemed so distant and foreign now.

'What happened there ? I am so sure that the father killed me mercilessly …then …why …why am I still aware of my surroundings ? and why in the hell do I still feel things ?'

He turned his head to the side and saw a woman in a white coat approach him with a gentle smile on her face. "Oh, you poor thing," she said, "Don't worry, you're safe now."

' A fucking human ….How come a fucking humans have the courage to hold me ? Me ! Zephyr …the most powerful demon in the demonic world …. ….how did I end up here ?'

He wondered how he ended up here, in a completely different world, in a completely different body.

Zephyr's heart was racing with anger and hatred. How did he end up here? What happened to the demon world he knew so well?

'I am pretty sure that I saw him ripping my heart out of my chest…the pain …where did all that pain go away ! '

He tried to speak, but all that came out was a baby voice. The woman picked him up and held him close, her touch was gentle and soothing.

"Shh, shh," she whispered, "don't worry little one, everything is going to be okay. You've been through a lot, but you're in good hands now. We'll take care of you."

' A fucking human !'

He wanted to move so badly but his movement was so restrained, therefore he just felt pissed there .

" Don't worry kid , you are going to live a good life, this time " she said while putting her index in his rosey cheeks .

Zephyr couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over him as he rested his head on the woman's shoulder. He didn't understand what she was saying, but he was too tired to resist .

He closed his eyes and allowed himself to rest, feeling safe for the first time in what felt like ages.

He was too tired even to keep his eyes open therefore he just calmed down while looking at her face .

Balthyrov's voice boomed through the darkness, sending shivers down Zephyr's spine.

"Zephyr," he sneered, "this is my punishment for your insatiable desire for power, and now you are trapped in the body of a lowly human, powerless and disgraced."

Zephyr struggled to comprehend his surroundings, unsure if he was even awake or still trapped in a nightmare.

The voice of the lord of demons echoed in his mind, haunting him with each word.

The king continued, his voice filled with venomous delight.

"Your story will be told throughout the realm, a cautionary tale of the almighty Zephyr, reduced to a mere mortal. No longer will you be feared and revered, but instead, you will be mocked and pitied, son."

Zephyr tried to speak, to protest, but his voice failed him. He was trapped, both physically and mentally, unable to escape his fate. His father's words echoed in his mind, reminding him of his failure and humiliation.

Zephyr's eyes snapped open and he gasped for air, his heart racing with confusion. As the realization of his situation hit him like a ton of bricks, he let out a loud scream of frustration and desperation.

The thought of being stuck in this body, this world, was frustrating.

"If only that fucker killed me," he muttered under his breath, his voice filled with venom and bitterness. "He knows me, he knows me well enough to know that I don't care about dying. But this... this is outrageous!"

As he lay there, struggling to come to terms with his new reality, a surge of anger and hatred coursed through him. He felt betrayed by the demon world and his father who had cursed him with this punishment, and also his brothers who were always jealous of him.

He had always been powerful, feared and respected, but now he was reduced to a mere human, powerless and weak.

Zephyr was held in the arms of a woman wearing a white coat, just as he had been the day before. Her eyes were somber, and her expression was one of sorrow.

For a moment, Zephyr wondered if she was talking to him, but he soon realized that she was speaking to another woman nearby.

"Too bad, too bad," the woman in white said with a heavy sigh. "I just learned that his mother died during childbirth last night.

The woman was talking but he couldn't even understand her language , he only knew that she was talking about him that way .

The woman continued, "His father also died. He died months ago during a fatal expedition."

He was now an orphan, with no family to call his own.

The woman held him closer and whispered, "But don't worry, little one. You'll be taken care of. You'll be part of the orphanage when you reach 5years old , and we'll make sure you're safe and loved."

"The two women exchanged a solemn glance, each understanding the weight of the situation. As the woman in the white coat cradled the infant in her arms, she spoke softly to her colleague.

"He has to be registered," the other woman stated firmly, "we should put a name in that blank column."

The woman holding the newborn nodded, her eyes bright with a glimmer of hope.

"His family name is Sinclair," she said, her voice gentle yet resolute. "And it was one of his mother's last wishes to name him Xylon."

The name hung in the air, a symbol of a life cut short but not forgotten. The woman looked down at the baby in her arms, taking in the delicate features of his face.

Despite the circumstances of his birth and the fate that had befallen his family, there was something special about this child. She felt a sense of purpose in naming him, as if it would help give him a solid foundation to build upon.

"This name suits you very well, kid," she whispered, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Xylon Sinclair. It has a nice ring to it, don't you think?"
