48 Dream

"Do you remember what happened yesterday?" Delphyne asked him in worry. She could only clean his wounds with warm water and bandage them with clean clothes. "I am fine. I need to go to work, otherwise, I would end up in more trouble." Xaphan said getting ready to go to work. Delphyne wanted to stop him but what he said was true.

Hell is a place where there was no light, which made it impossible to grow trees or any lifeform making it unbearably cold to stay. To make it livable, the king announced to start a fire that will never be put off and it was Xaphan's job to keep the fire on. That fire was named hellfire, and if he had to be turned off even by mistake then the consequence was death.

Being a 2nd-grade demon, Xaphan was like a servant to the top tier. The man who beat him before was one of the 1st-grade devils. In hell, the intense work or labour work is only for lower grade demons.

The higher your level; the better life you get. For first grade demons there jobs are mostly to fight in the war and since there has been no war, the only job they have is to bully lower grade demons and roam around hell without work but they are the most who get bent fit.

The one who worked had to fight the living and accept getting bullied. Xaphan was their main target since he was an orphan and his parents still belong to heaven. He didn't want a life being nice to everyone no matter what happens. He was better in hell than living a life of other's expectations.

Even if his life was not great it was way better than a life in heaven. This was the life he had chosen and he has no regret towards it.

....

"Looks like you remember everything." Samuel tried to confirm as he passed down the water to her. Sarael got up and sat down, taking the water and gulping down the water in one go. She had various questions in her mind but she wanted water.

Samuel sat down beside her, waiting for her to finish drinking. After finishing the water, she finally looked up at him, her eyes begging for answers.

Samuel sighed, " The one you saw in your dream was you and...Sebastian." hesitantly answered.

Sarael was flabbergasted on hearing him. She got up abruptly. No, this can't be true. How can this be true? They are not fated to meet, then how can they have fate from a previous life, she was definitely dreaming. It can never be true.

She looked around trying to find a way. "Do you think I am joking with you?" Samuel asked her; to which she turned around and replied," Right now. Yes, very much. Is it fun?" She burst into tears, flopping down on the ground.

She was tired from this, from the time she fell in love with him, her life started to become hell. No matter what she does; it always goes downhill. She was tired from all this, she never thought the sacrifice for love would be this big.

Samuel didn't know how to stop her from crying. Just then Sebastian came there. On seeing her crying there, he was dumbfounded and couldn't help but dash towards her. He rarely came to this place, since this place holds the memory of him with his mother. But, today suddenly felt like going there as everyplace he had to go, had memories of Sarael now.

"Are you okay?" Sebastian asked in a worried tone, trying to get her up from the ground. However, as soon as he touched her, she propelled him away in fury. She looked at him with her bloodshot eyes. He could clearly sense hatred in them.

"It's all because of you. If I had not met you in the school, I would not have been a mess like this." She shouted on top of her lungs. She walked up to him and grabbed his collar and yanked at him with her full force. "Why did you do this to me? WHY?" She let go of his collar after getting no response from him. She curled up on the ground, crying out loud. Seeing her like that, tears rolled down his cheeks. But he brushed them away as soon as they appeared.

"No, this is not your fault. It's just a bad dream. I will go back to normal life after this ends, right?" She stopped crying and looked around; as if she was trying to find something.

Suddenly she stood up, started pacing in a direction. Sebastian saw her going, and on realizing what she was planning, he rushed towards her.

Sarael tried to jump down the cliff in the hope her nightmare would end. But as soon she tried, Sebastian grabbed her wrist and pulled her back. As they both fall on the ground, Sarael above him, their heirs brushed, making her gasp in surprise.
