46 Curse

Auriel was staggered by his looks, that she couldn't even take his eyes off him. Until she saw his grey eyes, she gasped in fear. He was a...devil. She pushed him away in extreme fear. Talking a few steps back, she looked at him in fear. From what she heard devils are not like angels, they don't follow rules, if they see something that they like they will take it with any force. She has heard of many young angels being taken by them and then their slaves for life. She doesn't want to be a slave.

"D-Don't come any closer." She shuttered while trying to step back more. While taking another step, she carelessly steps on a rock and loses her balance, and falls from the cliff; when a hand suddenly comes and holds her waist, pulling her up.

Her eyes met his, and he met hers. Time stopped for them. Lightning struck and thunder rumbled, the wind slowed at the fullest. Chaos started as soon as they got close.

On hearing the thunder, both the king of hell and heaven looked up at the same time. On seeing how nature took the course, a hint of fear flashed on their face. They ran inside knowing it was coming true.

The forbidden curse: Centuries ago, when there was no hell or heaven and everyone lived peacefully but after humans were created by the creator. There was a dispute on who to rule, after years of fighting the heaven decided to rule the living while hell ruled the death. But after years both heaven and hell wanted to rule over three realms.

The dispute grew in the greed of ruling all three, no one was ready to give up which made the creator furious and gave them this curse.

'Two souls will rise from these two lands and despite every try to separate them they will elope, their love will create chaos and they will reincarnate till one everyone learns to stay together. Their lives are sacrifices of their realm's misdeed.'

After 500years of waiting for the condemnation to take place, nothing happened, eventually, people started to forget about the curse.

But now after 500 years it finally arrived. And no one knows who the two souls are.

On hearing the thundering voice, Auriel came back to her senses, she instantly pushed him away.

Auriel was shocked by how fast her heart was beating. She never felt the sudden rush of adrenaline on her before, she doesn't want to accept it was from his touch. It was definitely because she was about to fall from a cliff.

"Yeah, definitely because of it." She mumbled under her breath, placing her hand on her chest in an attempt to calm herself down.

Xaphan smirked seeing how innocent she was, she was making him urge more to know her.

Even before she could look at him and he swiftly reached close to her leaving only an inch between them within a blink of a second. Auriel was bewildered by his sudden coming close to him. She can only stare at him blankly.

Xaphan went a bit more close and whispered something before disappearing into the wild. Auriel just stood there like a stone unlettered on how to react.

"Auriel!" Just then a voice called for her from the darkness. She looked up to see who it was. When her parents appeared from the darkness.

On seeing their daughter standing at the edge of the cliff, they hurriedly went to her, concerned that something bad had happened to her.

"You okay?" Her mother pulls her into her arms and asks in worry.

Auriel just nodded to her mother's question. She feared her mother would scold her after what she did. She broke the rule but to her surprise they said nothing. They just slightly patted her shoulder before taking her back.

They didn't ask anything or scolded her which was very uncanny to her but she didn't ask much and went back home.

After reaching home, they left her alone and let her sleep in her room, and walked out of her room.

"What to do now?" After closing the door, her father asked her mother softly, cautious won't make Auriel hear. They both leaned on the wall, their faces showing a hint of restlessness. Her mother looked towards the closed door, and tears rolled down her cheeks.
