7 Scent

The day passed pretty quickly, and the rumors about Vian reached Alastor despite being holed up in the library since the morning.

Vian Mckvey was the youngest daughter of Archduke Mckvey who was accepted by the legendary phoenix as its only Partner.

Partners were nonhuman beings who could use magic and sign contracts with humans. Though, many were overbearing and arrogant, refusing to even approach humans.

A few years back, the Archduke almost lost his life to take hold of that phoenix's egg. Which, fortunately, ended up accepting his youngest daughter as its master.

'If not, he may cough blood until he dies of frustration,' Alastor chuckled gleefully by just imagining that scene.

The Archduke was lucky enough to have that, and now his daughter was expected to be one of the Empire's next pillars.

Alastor enjoyed that. He knew one thing from his previous life, being too favored and powerful only granted temporary glory. That glory was going to cave in and swallow the person whole.

But that was a worry for Vian, not him. Especially since he had a deadline of one month to deal with many complicated things. He knew he could handle it pretty well, and if not, he would appreciate the challenge at any time.

But there were quite a lot of variables.

'My knowledge is still limited despite spending a day here, but at least I know everything I need to know. The basics, at least.'

Wrapping his research up for that day, Alastor headed to his dorm this time. It was his first time there. He opened the door and was surprised by how tidy it was.

The tidy room was not that weird, but the extent of its tidiness and cleanliness… It was as if the room had been abandoned and never used for at least two weeks.

The previous Alastor kept being weirder and weirder. Just what kind of person he was exactly?

On that note, Alastor checked the room again. One single person bed, comfortable and luxurious enough. There was a closet in the corner that had a few sets of outfits, alongside a few boxes around.

Aside from that, the room was almost empty.

Only a faint trail of mana made Alastor understand what was happening in that room. Deciding to leave that for another time, he plopped directly into the bed and buried his face into the pillow.

Lazily taking off his shirt and pants, Alastor moaned, imagining how his life would soon be a rollercoaster.

'I'd need to deal with a few certain factors first, though. Just like the Princess and the-'

His thoughts were cut off as the door was slowly opened, making him frown as he closed his eyes.

'I am sure the door was closed, I locked it up myself.'

The fact that the door was opened, without any force or magic involved, meant this intruder was not a nobody.

Alastor tried to sense the person's presence to check who they were, but soon, a shiver went down his spine.

"Ah… Ah… He is actually here…"

The intruder's heavy breathing was loud. She came closer and closer, then giggled after making sure Alastor was 'asleep'.

Vian, the intruder, straddled Alastor while blushing hard, she nuzzled her face to his neck, making him freeze.

'Oh my, am I supposed to stay asleep in this situation?'

Alastor was calm yet slightly nervous, why was this girl here all of the sudden? He had noticed her blushing face before, but why is she coming to his room at night?

But Vian did not know he was actually awake, she sniffed him while moving her hips a bit against him. She seemed to be admiring the scent she smelled.

In reality, it was Alastor who was amazed at how a nineteen year old girl could have such an amazing body. Her body was rubbing against him with every movement, he was getting a bit bothered and was itching to do something.

As if someone heard his prayer, Vian suddenly shook her head and stood up carefully before trying to run away. Alastor considered for one moment before grabbing her wrist.

'Oh well, the sleeping act was not needed since her Partner was not here. She was weak.'

It felt laughable for him, a person who was supposed to be oh so strong actually had a weak body. Guess the shape and beauty did not really mean she had that much of strength.

'Perhaps that was why she is only 4 Magic Circles Mage despite her potential,' Alastor mused before throwing her to the bed and towering above her.

"Why are you here?"

He demanded dryly, but that did not stop Vian from almost drooling at the sight of him pinning her down. His hair created a shadow over his eyes that glinted in the dark, his cold yet dangerous smile made her squirm.

"I'm asking you."

It was only after the second call that she realized her condition at that moment.

'Ah! I got caught!'

Her face flushed redder with embarrassment as she flailed around.

"Leave me this instant! Release me!"

"Heh," Alastor easily covered her mouth as he looked at her, his gaze surely was not amused, "You sneaked to my room like a fucking pervert and now ordering me around? Young Miss, I have a few recording devices that could surely picture this scene for many others."

Vian froze in fear, unable to comprehend what he said immediately. How come there were recording devices here? She came here several times before, not only did she not find him, but the room was almost empty all of the time.

Her attempts to escape were futile, and now she was being threatened about being exposed to the world in this shameful act…

'No, I cannot let this happen!'

"Mnff!!"

She almost pleaded, and Alastor allowed her to speak. Vian felt grateful that she did not fall into some random hormonal boy's bed, or else she may have been in an even worse situation…

"I, your scent," As embarrassing as it was, she found herself unable to do anything but to admit, "Your scent is making me act like an addict!"

"...The heck you are talking about, missy?"
