Gruesome Threat

Alastor was left in his room, too stunned to speak.

Were the girls of this world so complicated, or perhaps his general knowledge about people was lacking?

He could understand Vian's situation a bit due to her explanation, he could relate to her as well. He understood how she would develop some sort of feelings for him. And her feelings seemed to take the path of obsessive protectiveness.

As for Arisa…

'We did not even sit properly together after that first time. How come she is now this…. Different?'

Arisa acted so differently on many occasions that he felt it was truly a mystery to explain her behaviors.

In fact, Alastor was planning to actually teach her a lesson soon enough, scaring her off and using the mark on her neck-

'The mark?'

Alastor paused, slowly sitting up. He could say that as a reason and accept it. Perhaps due to his mixed mana, Alastor messed up the spell a bit, ending up creating some sort of… Bond between them?

Arisa's actions were not enough to show any affection to him, for him, it could be translated as an annoyance for witnessing something and dubbing it as an eyesore.

"Whatever…"

Alastor heaved a sigh, his body was now healed, thankfully. It was the right time to rest. Closing his eyes, he decided to not think about it anymore.

For that night, at least.

Meanwhile, Vian was leading Evan through the corridors and going down some stairs, making him unable to stop his curiosity.

"Where are we going…?"

"I need to vent," she replied shortly.

Evan wanted to ask more, but refrained after seeing the young woman almost baring her teeth at him. He remembered what Alastor mouthed, and decided to stay silent for a while.

'Let's compromise for this lady…'

They walked for around ten minutes more before finally stopping somewhere. The place around them held multiple containers, but there was a special one that looked luxurious in comparison to the rest.

Vian's face was expressionless as she opened the container, finding Kristin's beheaded body resting there.

"What the, young lady, why are we here again?" Evan grabbed her arm, feeling something was wrong.

"...He hurt Alastor."

"Huh?"

She turned to him, throwing his hold off.

"He hurt Alastor, even after death, he is not going to escape."

Vian lit her palm on fire as she removed Kristin's shirt, she allowed the flames to move to her tips. Using them, she slowly wrote a message for the imperial family.

A few minutes later, she was done. But just looking at his face made her remember how he smiled happily once he thought Alastor was down, how those eyes shone disgustingly…

Without any thoughts in particular, her hand moved, gouging his eyes out and stomping on them until they were nothing but a paste.

Evan was watching with horror.

'I, I should be glad I compromised…'

Evan used some of his Wind Mana to clean the place up, surprising Vian and waking her up from her dark state..

"You have dual affinity?"

"Huh?"

"I noticed you before taking over Alastor's body in the first part of Ascension Battle."

Blinking, Evan suddenly remembered something. He was not talking to any ordinary person, he was actually talking with the daughter of the Archduke.

She was not someone as simple as she appeared. Her orange eyes stared at him, making him reluctantly nod.

'How could she even since that? Even that Instructor was unable to tell. Her sensitivity to mana seems to be crazy.'

"Hehe, Alastor got a good friend. Do you want me to help in arranging the Ascension Battle for you?"

Seeing how Vian's attitude changed in one instant amazed Evan and baffled him. How did Alastor meet her, or even get close enough to her in a short amount of time?

So many questions yet no one was going to answer him for them, which made him push them to the back of his head as he approached Vian slowly.

"I guess there is no need? The only thing I need is to not get rigged matches."

"Easy enough!" she chirped in response.

Her smile with the blood that was coating her hand made Evan sweatdrop. He pulled a handkerchief from his pocket, "Excuse me."

Only after he finished wiping the blood off her face and her hand did Evan breathe easier. The image of the young woman returned to being an adorable, pure girl.

"Oh, thank you!" she even smiled cutely at him.

But Evan was never going to forget her face as she swiftly did her job earlier.

He gulped, then changed the topic.

"About my Dual Affinity…I would like to keep it a secret, please."

Dual Affinity.

It was a cool power concept yet only 5% of humanity had it. The rarity of it made it a thing that could make even the monarchs drool.

Evan was okay. He was satisfied with what he had and wanted a relatively calm life. The fact that he has Dual Affinity was only shared for a few friends.

Even his family did not know about it all.

No one noticed his Psychic Mana.

'But if they did, I may be in Alastor's current position, having to deal with these punks by playing all kinds of tricks in this world.'

Thankfully, Vian could relate and sympathize with Evan. In addition, he was Alastor's friend. She naturally decided to promise to stay silent.

Once they finished that, Vian turned again to the dead Kristen.

"My message looks clear enough, right?"

"Well…" hesitating for a moment, Evan ended up mumbling, "Hopefully the Imperial Family would not find any problems with us for this act."

"Heh, they can do whatever they want. In any case, this night is ending soon. Let's leave before anyone comes here."

"You are right, let's leave."

The next morning, once this container was put inside a coffin and sent to the Imperial Family, the news of the Emperor suddenly fainting spread across the Academy.
