12 Trance

Opening the software he used to write, Lex first wrote the title of the novel he had already thought of.

"The Legacy Of VoidWalkers."

Lex had been thinking about the type of novel he should write and finally arrived after writing this.

Cultivation.

This was a vague trope that could be counted in many genres but was mostly used by Eastern Fantasy Authors.

Yes, eastern fantasy novels were also popular in this world. They originated from a Nation named Xiangyun. As the name suggests, it was mostly consisting of Chinese culture.

But there were many differences between the two, which Lex didn't even want to think about.

Why did Lex choose this genre? Because Cultivation wasn't very famous in this world. It was popular, true, but not as famous as other genres.

Here in this world, the web novel industry was still ruled by system novels, especially levelling up ones. Lex had been one of the authors who started this trend.

He had written many system novels and wanted to change his writing style a little. He had thought of writing a novel named The System's POV, which would actually introduce a new trope to this world.

But he then discarded that idea as he remembered that there was already a novel with that in his previous life. And he didn't want to plagiarise someone's work.

Although it was kind of a stupid thought, it was just how he was.

And that's why he decided to write this novel on Cultivation. He wanted to introduce the classic cultivation to the world before it became famous.

[Hmm, that's a nice idea. I also love those worlds of cultivation, but most of the ones I've visited are just pure garbage. They have nothing but arrogant pricks. Only a few of them were good ones.]

'Heh, isn't that because you're a smut system? Won't your host be the usual dumb and edgy MC of smut novels?' Lex sneered and said.

[Are you forgetting that you're also my host?]

'Nah, I'm not. I'm not like those dumb guys who can only beg the system to get the woman they love.'

[Aghh, can we come back to the topic?]

'Yeah, sure, so where was I?' Lex said as he looked at the title of the novel. He wondered where he should start first.

Then, after thinking for a few minutes, he once again typed on the keyboard.

'World Building.'

Lex chose this first because he could arrange other things accordingly later on, but modifying the world wasn't something he was a fan of.

He was technically the god of the world he was making for the novel and the rules he set for the world, they shouldn't contradict with each other.

Sure, they could be bullshit, but at least they would match the world he was trying to make. This was his job, making the world and its rules and laws so perfect that even he wouldn't be able to find flaws in them.

Because Lex knew that once he had completed the world, he couldn't change it later.

He then began working on it and didn't even realise when hours passed and night arrived. He was in a trance as he did nothing but type and erase. He wanted the world to be perfect.

Finally, when the doorbell rang, he was awakened from his trance. He threw off the spectacles he had worn and rubbed his eyes.

The doorbell again rang, but he was still in a dazed state. He yawned and stood up, stretching his body a little. Half of his body parts had already gone numb, and he was having difficulty in even walking.

'Fuck, I unconsciously used focus.' Lex cursed as clarity soon returned to him. He usually keeps himself from using focus while writing because he knows something like this would happen.

But today, he couldn't help himself. Starting a new novel was thrilling, especially after so long. Making the world was his always favourite task, and because of that, he used his ability to Focus.

The doorbell again rang, and this time, whoever was pressing it became stubborn. The doorbell rang continuously in the apartment, irritating Lex to no end.

"I'm Coming! Keep your damn hands off from the doorbell." Lex shouted as he made his way over to the door while rubbing his head. He wobbled slightly but was able to reach the door.

He opened the door and found the face he was expecting.

Elise stood there pouting and crossing her hands on her chest. She looked at Lex and asked angrily, "You again used your ability while writing, didn't you?"

"Yeah, well, I just did that unconsciously, I didn't mean to use it." Lex put his hand around the neck of Elise and dragged her inside the apartment. "But I couldn't help myself as I was starting a new novel."

"New one? You finally decided to write one?" Elise asked in excitement.

"Hmm, Denny told me that NHAs are starting in a few days, so I thought of participating in that," Lex said as he again dropped on the sofa after releasing Elise.

Elise crossed her arms and spoke in a low but dangerous voice, "So it's Denny again, huh! I really should murder that guy the next time I see him."

Lex rolled his eyes and said, "He's already so afraid of you, so give him a break. Also, speaking of Denny, Old Man Ramsey has called us; wanna go there tomorrow?"

Elise thought about it and said, "I would really like to visit Grandpa, but I need to go with Master tomorrow. She said she's gonna show me her personal mount, and I'm rather excited for it."

"Ah, then you go with your master, I'll visit him tomorrow, and you can go there someday else," Lex said. "Also, I haven't made anything, so you'll be the one making dinner today."

"What!! That's not fair!!" Elise cried out hearing about cooking. She glared at Lex and said, "I demand trial by combat!!"
