Not a Young Master

The next few hours went by as only sounds of page flipping resounded in the library. Both Evelyn and Lex just focused on their reading and didn't even bother to look at each other.

In a way, they both appreciated this fact about each other. They both could understand each other and remained silent.

Finally, Lex finished his book and closed it. He had a fast reading speed, and the book he chose was also short, so he easily completed it in a few hours.

Evelyn looked up as she heard the sound of the book closing. She asked, "Done already?"

"Hmm, in a few minutes, my first day at the academy will end, so I need to meet up with my sister," Lex replied.

Evelyn put aside her book and looked at her wristwatch, "You're right. I didn't even notice how fast the time passed."

"Well, books are like that. I can easily spend my whole day reading books and won't even notice it." Lex smiled and said. He always admired people who liked reading books. It didn't really matter which type.

"Hmm, you're right." Evelyn also smiled and said. "By the way, don't you want to explore the great Aethrian Academy? Why did you spend your first day here, holed up in the library?"

"Hmm? Well, I'm just too lazy to do that. I'll have plenty of time to explore later." Lex answered.

He couldn't really tell Evelyn the truth, so he just made up something. The reason he didn't wander around the academy was because he didn't want to meet his cousins from his maternal side.

He knew he'd have to face them anyway, but he wanted to keep the first day at least peaceful and relaxing.

[Ain't no way you're someone who likes to just relax.]

'Shut up! I like relaxing.' Lex snorted at the system and stood up. He said, "I'll go then. It was a pleasure reading with you."

Evelyn smiled at Lex and said, "No worries, it's hard to find someone like you, so I also appreciate the time we spent together, even though we didn't really talk. It's nice to have a company."

"Yup, well then, bye for now," Lex said with a smile and began walking towards the exit.

"You're not leaving your name behind?" Evelyn asked as she looked at the leaving figure of Lex. She smiled, noticing how perfect he looked.

Lex turned and said, "Lexus Rivenhall, but you can call me Lex."

Saying that he left the library, leaving a surprised Evelyn behind.

"So you're the child of Rivenhall! Interesting," Evelyn muttered. She then shook her head and thought, 'Well, I just hope we meet often.'

Lex walked on the academy grounds towards the entrance gate of the academy. He had already messaged Elise to meet at the entrance gate.

As he got near the entrance gate he noticed some people following him, he only gave a side glance at them and continued forward.

And as he expected they also followed him, still he wasn't going to do anything to them as they were just harmless chickens to him.

Soon, he passed the entrance gate and came outside of the academy. And he didn't have to wait for his followers as they finally revealed themselves.

There were three of them, all three wearing the boy's uniform. They surrounded him from three sides, and Lex just looked at them without doing anything.

He waited as he knew these were just lackeys. How did he know? Call it an author's instincts. 

[Bruhhhhhhh!!]

And indeed, a black-haired man soon came towards him, wearing a smirk on his face. He stood before him as Lex was now surrounded from all sides.

Other students saw this but didn't come to help Lex; they just watched the drama.

"Heh, must be quite happy being the top student." The black-haired man said while snorting.

Lex cocked his head and said, "Thanks, I guess."

"I'm not congratulating, you bastard!" The black-haired man hissed at Lex. Lex backed away a little, not because of fear but because he didn't want to bathe in the disgusting saliva of this man in front of him.

"Heh, are you afraid now? You should be." The man snorted and said. "You took my Larry Bray's first place because of some fucking written examination, and I'll show you the consequences of that. I'm far stronger than a trash like you, but you...."

He angrily shouted at Lex, "I don't understand why the academy chose a trash like you who has a useless ability as the topper, but I know you must have cheated."

'What's this guy yapping about?' Lex thought in confusion as he simply ignored most of the words the man was speaking.

[This guy is retarded for sure, can't even act like a secondary young master.]

'Oya, don't throw him in the classic category of the young master. He doesn't deserve it.' Lex immediately denied it.

Larry noticed that Lex wasn't even paying any attention to him and got even angrier. He gritted his teeth and said, "You really don't know your place, don't worry, I'll help you with that."

Lex sighed as he said, "Are you done? I'm hungry, so I would like to go home."

"As for taking your first place, don't you know you have to get that place by yourself," Lex said as he looked at the three lackeys of Larry.

"You will regret messing with me!!" Larry said and pushed aside Lex. He then marched inside the academy with his lackeys.

"He certainly is retarded." Lex nodded as he said.

"Yo, Already encountered your first young master?" Denver asked as he walked out of the entrance gate.

"Nah, just a nuisance. He isn't even worthy of faceslapping, so don't categorize him in our prestige young master category." Lex shook his head and replied.

"Is that so.." Denver looked at the direction Larry left and asked, "Why do you think he came to find trouble you with?"

"He was saying I took his first place and all. But I doubt it's just that." Lex shrugged and said.

"Hmm, anyways, I was here to say that my grandpa has invited you."
