3 First Mission

Lex stood in front of the mirror as he admired himself. He also had to go to the Aethrian Academy so he changed his clothes to the Academy's uniform.

A body-fitting red blazer on a white shirt, the same as Elise had worn. Complimenting the white shirt were his black pants. Combined with his silky smooth red hair and his handsome face, he was looking as if he was an apostle of the God of Handsomeness.

[Alright, Alright, just how narcissistic are you?]

"It's called self-appreciation," Lex said with a smile as he gave one last glance at his reflection and went to pick up his bag. 

[Yeah Yeah, also, this is for you..]

[Ding! New mission detected.]

Lex read his first mission and had to say it was quite easy, and the reward was also good. But then his gaze landed on the punishment. His lips twitched while reading it.

"What kind of punishment is this?" Lex asked.

[How would I know? Because two different concepts have been joined together to make this new system, you can say it's fucked up for now. Even I don't understand it now but don't worry, I'm working on it.]

"Yeah, do that quickly. Hopefully, I don't get weird missions in the meantime." Lex thought as he picked up his dropped phone and threw it in his pocket.

After that, he picked up his bag and left his apartment. The apartment was on the 20th floor of a building so he took the lift to go down.

After he exited the building, he was welcomed by the bustling metropolis capital city of Lionheart kingdom. Tall skyscrapers loomed over the crowd walking around the city while doing their work.

Personal vehicles were restricted in the city, so that was a relief for the people; for transportation within the city, they could always use public transport. However, nobles and royal families were exceptions to this rule, as they were with other rules.

Lex didn't need to use public transport because he had bought an apartment close to the academy. He could actually see the academy from his balcony.

Lex walked on the footpath towards the back of the building. He attracted many looks, from admiration to envy. Girls whispered while looking at him, and the guys looked at him with jealousy.

Lex was used to these so he walked without having any change in his expression. He was handsome even in his previous life, just that he never took care of his body.

He was just too lazy to work out and take care of his face. But he changed his habits in this life; he had worked hard from the beginning and maintained his well-built, lean body.

As he was thinking and passing through an alley, he heard some noises coming from the dark alleyway. He shook his head with a sigh and was going to ignore it when he heard the familiar sound.

[Ding! New mission detected.]

[Title: Saving .]

[Description: Save the young boy from the random thugs.]

[Duration: 20 min.]

[Punishment: You will fall asleep randomly in the next three days.]

Lex stopped in his tracks and read the mission. He sighed and said, "Do I really have to do this?"

[No, unless you want the punishment. Besides, everything the system will do from now on will be in favor of you, for obvious reasons.]

"Fine," saying that Lex entered the alleyway. And the scene inside was as he had expected. Three men with tattoos on their arms and vicious expressions on their faces had corned a young nobleboy.

How did he know? Because of the clothes worn by the young boy. He was around 10 years old, had short white hair, and wore expensive clothes.

It wasn't certain actually that he was a noble but his parents were rich nevertheless to actually give him such rich clothes. The thugs had probably targeted him for that.

As Lex got closer, he could hear their conversation. They were mainly discussing what to do with the boy; they could kidnap him and ask for ransom, but that would be risky. They continued to go on and forth with their discussion while keeping an eye on the kid.

The young boy surprised Lex a little. He wasn't panicking or flaunting his background to intimidate the thugs; he was just sitting there silently watching everything.

Lex looked at his wristwatch and said, "I don't have much time, huh."

Hearing his voice, the thugs stopped their conversation as they turned to look at him. One of them shouted as he waved his hand, "Get out of here, kid, this ain't your matter."

"Wait! This bitch has seen us, so it's better to finish him here," The other one said with a grin on his scar-filled face. Lex looked at him and could see envy in those eyes.

The third one spoke, "Fine, but be quick, we need to leave before the Enforcers arrive."

The second one nodded and whipped out a knife from his pocket. He licked it and ran towards Lex at a speed that shouldn't have been possible for a normal human body.

'A speed type ability or a body strengthening? Well, it doesn't matter; he's trash at it anyways.' Lex thought as he stood in his place, completely relaxed. 

The second thug smiled at the lack of response from Lex and attacked him with his knife as soon as he came close to him.

The attack was directly at his face, which clearly showed the intentions of the second thug. 

Lex just looked at the incoming knife and easily dodged it by ducking it down. For him, the second thug was too slow. After ducking down, Lex kicked the man's crotch.

The second thug's eyes bulged out as he experienced severe pain and heard a cracking sound. His grip loosened, and the knife dropped from his hand. 

Lex was waiting for this, so he caught the falling knife and stabbed it in the neck of the man, instantly killing him. His face still bearing the same bored expression.
