Kromorus Viscounty

Viscount Ilmer's Manor

Inside the heart of Kromorus Viscounty is the residence of the fief's Lord of the Ilmer House

This viscounty is situated near the Grandtou Forest and the Grandtou Mountain that is off-limits to the majority of the humans

Humans especially the adventurers can still enter the Grandtou Forest but they are forbidden to climb the Grandtou Mountain

The Cilan Kingdom is afraid that if one of them climbed the Grandtou Mountain they might accidentally unseal the terrifying entity sealed at the very top of the mountain. Hence, climbing the mountain is forbidden but now, a piece of news starts to spread. The people that are aware of this news panicked

Currently, Viscount Ilmer is having a meeting with his vassals to decide how they should act on the news that arrived

The Viscount and his vassals are sitting in front of a rectangular table. As the head, Viscount Ilmer is sitting at the very front while his six vassals are placed on his sides

One out of the six vassals was a Noble holding the title of a "Baron". As for the others, they are semi-nobility and are given the title of either a Lord for males and Lady for females

These people are the backbone and Supreme authority of the Viscounty and they are currently discussing the news about the fact that the chains binding the fearsome Golden Lightning Phoenix vanished, setting it free

"The Golden Tyrant of the skies has escaped from its captivity. As the territory closest to the Grandtou Forest and Mountain, if the tyrant wished to let out some steam, we would be its primary target. We have to position our soldiers around the forest and strengthen the defenses of the city walls!" The Viscount said to his vassals

His suggestion was the most logical suggestion but things are not that simple

A Lady with hearts on her cheeks spoke after the Viscount. "My Lord, I fear that even if we strengthen our defenses, that would be useless. The Phoenix was sealed by the Saintess of Chains from the Holy Empire 50 years ago but even until now who doesn't know of its terror? It's a creature that even the Holy Empire cannot easily touch. I suggest that we contact the Palace and request reinforcements" she suggested

Her words were completely work related but she has that natural flirty tone that could enamor countless men. Even the Lords sitting near her have to constantly guard themselves against her enchantment

"Even the Palace cannot do anything against that tyrant. The Kingdom doesn't have enough power to resist such a threat. What we have to do is to contact the Holy Empire" one of the Lords suggested but another Lord rejected that idea

"His Majesty is always concerned about the crown's sovereignty in the Kingdom. He wouldn't treat it kindly if we contact the Holy Empire without his permission!"

"Then what should we do? Do we just wait for our deaths?"

The Lords and Ladies started arguing while giving their opinions making it hard for them to reach a mutual conclusion

Outside of the meeting room, a young man was secretly listening. This young man has spiky red hair wearing only a brown vest on top and black pants

He was attentively listening to the discussion of the Lords while the guards at the door were looking at him with discomfort

"Young Master Kami you should head back to your room. The Viscount would be angry if he knew that you're listening" one of the two guards said and the Young Master glared at him

"Then make sure that my father does not learn about this. I'm his son, I'll merely be scolded. As for you, what do you think my father would do?" He snapped and the poor guard can only lower his head

After Kami got the gist of what the meeting is about, a mischievous idea entered his mind and he hurriedly ran away from the meeting room's door much to the guard's relief

Grandtou Forest

At the entrance of the forest, a shadow was cast on the ground. If one looks at the source one would notice papers flying in the air

The quantity of these papers was enough to accommodate a person and indeed there was someone riding on these papers

The rider controlled his Gift and the flying papers starts to descend until they reached the entrance of the forest

When he was near the ground, the young man had his feet touch the ground and the papers he rode on turned into a single notebook in his hand but it didn't take that long though before that notebook dissipated

"I am the genius of House Ilmer. It is simply my right to have a Phoenix as my familiar, right?" The young man spoke with great naivety, bordering on stupidity

He is still young and ignorant. He is not aware of the level of terror that a being like the Golden Lightning Phoenix could bring

As such, he was naively thinking that the Phoenix was unsealed because it was destined to be his familiar even though that is far from the real reason

With a heart that is filled with excitement, Kami entered the forest and after minutes of walking he encountered some of the goblins living inside the forest

"H-human!"

"Meat! Meat!"

"Hungry!!"

The goblins cheered after they had seen a human. They think that they could kill and eat Kami to satiate their appetite but they are far from having the ability to do so

"Hmph, my instructors regularly trained me. I already lost count of how many stinky goblins I have killed" Kami snorted and he lightly raised his hand

Above his palm, a notebook with a white cover suddenly appeared. Without him touching the notebook the pages flipped and several papers detached themselves from the notebook

These pieces of paper are Kami's weapon and with his control, they flew in the air and approached the goblins that were treating him as their next food
